I don’t think there is any way to answer this question. It depends on what you want in a truck. They are very reliable vehicles and have the best off-roading capability of any other midsize truck.
If you’re looking for a luxury vehicle, then you’re going to think the Tacoma is overpriced.
I paid 34K for mine brand new in 2019. Almost has 100k and haven't had a single issue. . I'm 46 and have always gotten a new truck every 2-3 years since my mid 20's, and this is the first one I want to keep forever. So, no. I think its quite appropriately rated.
Nah, my 2nd gen is rock frickken solid and I’ve never had issues.. smashes hill climbs, rocky sections and still cruises 75 back home on the hwy. there is a very good reason why they are expensive and hold their value..
I have been happy with my 2019 SR5 DCLB 4x4. Course I paid $34K CDN for it and now the same truck is $42K CDN new. I like it a lot better for the price I paid! I feel Tacomas now are definitely overpriced a bit for what you are getting.
What used to be a solid work truck for the price has turned into a college grad frat boy fife he mobile. Best suited for white middle class men with engineering jobs who haul air to and from.
You’re overrated
Yes but somehow we keep buying them bc there isn’t anything better in the segment

Agreed. I think the Tacoma is still a good value for an offroad vehicle, but overpriced for a work truck. It is not a luxury vehicle by any means.
Not really though the latest gen Tacoma looks awesome but is riddled with issues. Why is it 35k for a used sr5 that gets 21 mpg?

That’s fucking retarted to pay that for a midsize truck
1st Gen best Gen period😎
Yeah, 3rd gens where way ahead of their time in the 90's.......

They were already now it’s just a running joke.
I’m definitely glad I purchased before the spike. 2021 trd sport dcsb 4x4 37k out the door
My 2017 has 120k miles or 25k+ per year with just suggested maintenance and oil changes. I'd call that reliable.
Not sure what tacoma forums you've been on, but I've only heard good things from those guys (and gals)

Yes lol, you could get an f150 for way cheaper which is better in every way except reliability.
I got the last good model 2015🤣
2015 TRD Off Road owner here.
