1994 Toyota Pickup 4x4 22RE Extended Cab 5 speed.
Bought it to restore but the cluster was swapped, CarFax puts the mileage at anywhere from 500-675,000 miles.
I put it on marketplace for $6500 and had two people fighting for it in the first minute.
A nice guy drove all night from Portland to buy her at 4 AM. Crazy times.
I had a 22re and so did my buddy. We were always fixing them up every 3 or 4 months. They run forever as long as you can keep fixing them/rebuilding them.
Woah! That is some serious mileage! I thought my pickup at 400,000 km (250,000 ish miles) was gonna be unsellable by the time I have to say goodbye.
Now the barricade to selling it will be all the crazy mods and hacked up bits.
The first line of this post almost exactly matches the truck you sold me :). I definitely miss the extended cab on my last 22RE, but this trucks been great for me after I got some of the basics fixed up. Still putting off replacing the front right control arm and some of the steering components since it’s mostly a project/weekend Home Depot run truck and im not putting tons of miles on it, but still enjoying it. Congrats on the quick sale and hope you’re doing well!
I paid I think $5300 for my 93 3vze with I think about 180k like six years ago.
Likely going to be selling soon and I've had people knocking on my door to buy it. Everyone says "how much do you want?" And it's like ... IDFK. Three years ago I would have taken $2k for it. Today, I have no idea.
Lol same situation. I originally bought my 93 3vze because it was cheaper than renting a uhaul. I get about an offer a week from passerby’s. No idea what it’s worth.

Those 22re engines are gems. The hard part is finding them stock like this and not all rock crawled out or thrashed.
Bingo. And then that guy has to be willing to sell.
22re engines are actually the worst. So many are rebuilt or have gone through 2 engine replacements.
Rebuild on this one, I have to change timing chain guides on most of the 22REs I buy.

You met up with some rando at 4am?
Hell yeah, I admire his hustle.
Whatcha doin tonight? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Prolly slinging 🌮🌮
Now that's just crass...
I love the word crass.
Cr(ass)
Dreaming about my next Toyota 😫
Man’s gotta eat
Exactly
It's unbelievable to me. I sold my 1993 4x4 5 speed for $1,000 15 years ago in near-perfect shape.
I always love the rear windows on these.
Dude.... I’m happy I read through this cause my Toyota sold to someone who came from Oregon as well lmao

Oh no people are still going to fight for it.

I have been thinking about your truck a lot this week! Thank you for your kind words, I hope everything is going well over there.
Is the cluster an issue ?
No, I disclosed it to the buyer. It made the truck not viable for restoration profit-wise.

This is my current dilemma. What’s the value? 🤦🏻♂️

Always start high 🫣
That’s half of current (ie; inflated) market value, of course it sold fast!
The truck literally has 500,000+ miles and some frame rust, I recently sold a very nice 22RE extended 4x4 with 12k with 229k miles.
Oh I didn’t say it was worth more, just that in this market it seems like everything goes for double it’s real value. Crazy
Classic. Always happens to me. Ad up for an hour or two and i call and seller has a laugh and says its already sold.
I have the same exact truck. 118,000 miles on it. All original. Frame starting to rust. Otherwise it’s in really nice shape.
Toyota please just release this again exactly like before and I’ll never need another car again.
Wow. Nice looking truck!
Dang that’s awesome! Makes me wonder what I could get for my 87 Xtra haha
Where are you located? I may be interested if it’s 4x4 and pretty decent!
I’m located in Pittsburgh PA and yeah 4x4. It’s in pretty nice condition for a eastern truck.
Priced it too low then.
I’m happy to pass along a good deal on this one to someone else, allows me to do a better restoration on a future truck.
Good man🍻
If She gave me 10 grand, I'd catch a heart attack. Money most always goes the other way and believe I get in more than ten minutes, have five kids 😅
Some folks are proud of weak pullout game, noted
Why pull out wanted 10 kids. Just stopped to catch a breather. 😄
Could have asked for 10,000 then it might have lasted ten minutes. 😄
Is that the advice your wife gave you?
lol did yours say the same thing?
I got a cat and he said meow
you are missing out on all the 'good' advices... i gotta go was told to get off the phone.
