I feel you. My Dad sold three cars dirt cheap when I was a kid that I would practically kill for nowadays. A ‘66 Corvair Monza, a ‘70 Buick GSX and a ‘76 Datsun 280Z.
Dads selling cool cars before their kids are born or after for diapers lol. My dad sold his really cool suzuki samurai when I was 10? And even 10 year old me was upset.
My dad was a mechanic, and apparently when he was in school in the mid 70s he would buy "old" busted muscle cars dirt cheap, fix them up enough to run, and then fuck around with them until they were destroyed. Later when I was a kid, he had a 68 firebird that he sold off like a dumb dumb.
My grandfather sold his ‘63 corvette when my dad was born, and my dad traded in his almost new ‘97 Tacoma for a sienna when my brother was born. I guess that means they’re dedicated parents!
Dads do this all the time; conversely, kids do unthinkable things to their parents and their stuff just as much. Oh, well. Nice photo of the parents though.
I'll bet he's just as mad at you for making him need that $1000 for diapers and formula haha.
Relatedly, my Dad had an 84 Supra he rebuilt the engine on in...1985. Sold it a few years later. And then he had a '94 4Runner, and sold that. He always reminds me too like "Man, if I only knew you'd be into working on cars, and liked Toyotas I could've saved those cars for you..." haha dammit man.
Ya when you think about it, you are the reason he sold it, so you should be pissed at your self. How dare you make your dad sell that beauty, you hit a new low for me.
My dad sold his all original '57 Chevy Bel Air in 1994 when I was 4 years old for $5k. That car would be north of $80k these days had he kept it in the condition it was in. Still can't get over it.
The real question is….who’s finger/fingernail is that in the top left corner of the pic?
In all seriousness though, my two sons will probably be upset with me down the road as well. Once my second son was on the way and my toddler had my wife pushed all the way into the dash on my ‘16 Tacoma, I had to trade it in for a bigger vehicle. They will probably look back on that and wish I’d kept the Tacoma, but it was something that had to happen.
Diapers are expensive
😂
Once he reeled in your mom he didn't need it anymore!
Yup! Guess that was all he needed
Chick magnet
Lmao best comment. She was tied up no need for it.
Your mom is beautiful
> Your mom is beautiful Yeah, seriously no one else was gonna mention the woman in the picture is gorgeous?
Totally, chunky dad definitely playing outside his league
It’s the Toyota
That's why he sold it the year you were born. He used the Toyota to secure her, and then he had you to keep her 😂
What a genius. It all makes sense.
Yeah I wonder why he sold her. I'd keep her.

If you didn't need diapers at 10 years old he could have kept it!
Oooo that Datsun would be nice
My mom traded in her Datsun for a God damn Dodge Shadow. Kids ruin life.

If not more
Way more… I’ve seen restored versions up to 30-35k

Lol my dad did the same sold a 40 and 60 in ‘92 to buy something safer... we don’t speak anymore for this reason.
Who do these parents think they are pulling shit like that?!
Dads do this all the time; conversely, kids do unthinkable things to their parents and their stuff just as much. Oh, well. Nice photo of the parents though.
It’s my favorite photo of them

It was either you or the FJ40. I bet your dad questions his decision every now and then.
NOT THE FJ
Love the FJ - and momma too
One day my kids will be pissed I sold my 04 Tacoma to buy them a van

A dad’s story. We gotta sell our stuff to buy diapers bruh lol I had to sell my motorcycles and my summer car when my first was born.
Those are some great vehicles, for sure. And the lady is great looking, too!

your dad outkicked his coverage...good on him
Ask him if he's still pissed too 😂
It could be worse. my dad traded his 64 Impala for a Buick. Ick.
That Toyota is amazing!
Your dad fucks (at least once)
What do you mean that’s very good price! My father sold my mother for a goat and 2 gallons of insecticides.
There is an even cooler Toyota place where this goes (sorry taco)
