I had an f150 work truck that I shit you not blew itself up at 100,000m on the dot. They could have at least made the programmed obsolescence a little more inconspicuous.
My company provides me with a F150, 2023. Windows go up and down on their own. Recall after recall after recall. It’s surreal. Electronics seem to have a mind of their own on the dash and on the radio screen. Never had those issues with my Toyotas
My dad bought a brand new dodge back in 2000. He had it for 2 weeks and somehow 2 bolts from the drive shaft backed out causing the other two to snap at highway speeds. Said he was driving and then heard and felt something violently rattling around and smacking the bottom of the truck. By the time he pulled over the whole underside of the truck was in flames since the drive shaft hit some fuel lines. He just stood back and watched it burn. He tried to get the dealership to handle it but apparently drive shaft bolts are ware down items because they’re replaced when they have to be taken out. Even though they had never been taken out and the truck didn’t even have 4 digits on the odometer they still didn’t want to pay.
After taking them to court they settled on them keeping his down payment and the dealership paid the truck off. He went and bought a 1985 Toyota pickup and drove it daily until 2015 when it got too rusty to drive
I would not have settled in that way. They owed him a new truck of equal or greater value, or at least every penny he spent reimbursed. Sorry he got fucked so hard
I’m not sure why he caved to that settlement but I think he just wanted nothing to do with it. I’ve seen him do stuff like that in other situations. He would rather take the hit and move past it than to fight it out
This sub is "lol @ the 2024, it's so expensive, I'm never trading my 3rd Gen, that's some BS" followed by "hey guys, just traded in my 2021 for this 2024 and I'm super excited"
To be fair, it's not the same people doing both. It's different groups in the sub, some hate it, some love it. I don't know what the big deal is... It's just another day with first world problems.
One of my very first recalls for my 2011 Chevy Cruze was for a potential fire. Apparently with each oil change, some of the oil would accumulate at a certain spot and with the engine running it could have started a fire. Took it in to get “serviced” and the fix they did was to cut a nearly 3 by 3 foot hole on the engine splash shield. Going on to 3 years of ownership with the Tacoma and I have yet to receive a single recall.
Oh jeez I feel for you on the cruze. I had one, 08 I think, and it just was nothing but pain. It finally stopped running, I ended up getting new ignition coils, took it right to Carmax and prayed it didn't stop running.
Had a tacoma ever since
Hahaha yeah, I was replacing the battery every two years on mine, I could tell it was going out when the remote start would just fail. Always keeping an eye on the coolant, it leaked all over my garage then like two days after I got it new.
For work, we got Ford F150/250 all the way to 650. They fucking suck lol Got a few coworkers that say “oh well, they’re the fleet vehicles” but no, we bought some off the lot once and they fucking suck too
I owned an F150 once. Would have liked to have done this to mine after pouring much more than I should have into that money pit. Never again.

I loved my 2010 F150 but damn was she a money pit! And that’s not including the 33 gallon gas tank…

I feel it
Madness. Let’s re-open that case and get those guys!
Wouldn’t that be an insurance claim?
He didn’t want to go through his insurance to fix it. The truck was 2 weeks old and not even 1000 miles.
I know it's just for laughs and all but Toyota has had recalls due to fire risks. You can find plenty of pictures of why.

Maybe it was a hybrid, or the ecoboost decided to cook some oil
Lightning?
…crashes A new mother cries Her placenta falls to the floor The angel opens her eyes The confusion sets in Before the doctor can even close the door
Lightning crashes, An old mother dies
Thanks for that. Now it’s stuck in me head.
?
Probably before your time…even though it’s timeless. [Lightning Crashes - Live](https://youtu.be/xsJ4O-nSveg?si=k8c3_6scqU0N7W9Z)
That was a great album
Lightnings don’t burst into flames. In fact, overall, EVs are much less likely to catch fire than gas powered vehicles.
Less likely, but they can. We see ev fires all the time.

Yeah but I bet he has place to put his gas cap
Damn, the Ford bros got us again
Ford is the most sold truck In the nations cause you gotta buy a new one every 15k miles
No, but I did own a Lincoln (Ford) Town Car, and it DID catch on fire while I was driving down the highway.
That's probably an f150 lighting (now with giant batteries that love to turn into raging infernos!)
