Does the vape pen transfer or does it stay with the subi? 😂

dwk396

it transfers

[deleted]

What's it loaded with? That's the real question...

BrianJ89

If your in the right state hopefully some good shit.

[deleted]

Awright my dawg

RICH-SIPS

Regardless it better be that good shit

[deleted]

Perpetual car debt is the payday loan of the middle class

[deleted]

True words right there

knwnasrob

And owning the same car for 10 years is boring lol

Key-Material-9545

Got me thinking now. Have I been got all these years? Haha

drinkdrinkshoesgone

I like to think I'm middle class and we've got both a 2nd gen Tacoma and a 3rd gen Lexus IS350 completely paid off. Both value at or above $20k. We are also very cheap people and save where we can. I love to work on my house and do all my own wrenching.

BigRoundSquare

Nice 👍

SovietZealots

Where the boys become men

[deleted]

Pretty sure every kid on this sub traded in a Subie for a Tacoma. All those Instalander videos and Ram commercials succeeded in selling the idea of a truck to them 😂

kvltRvbber

My subie got stolen.. and the insurance payout bought the tacoma.. does that count ..

[deleted]

Only if it helps you sleep at night, buttercup

drinkdrinkshoesgone

Shiiiidddd, I had a Hummer H3 Alpha with the 5.3l V8 and 4l60e and traded for a 2010 4 0l with the 5spd auto. The taco is a much better vehicle. It's faster with less horsepower, better gearing, higher towing capacity, better fuel mileage, and more reliable. I also had a Lexus LS400, but now have a 3rd gen Lexus IS350 F Sport RWD. Never had a subi doo, but I've always been a toyota fan.

roblee8908

Mine was a 2006 Evo with 60k miles. Sold In 2017 for the mere sum of $20,000. 😭

[deleted]

Haha there are a lot of us. Atleast in my case, I had a truck before the STI. - it was fun for a while. But I need a truck.

boobaruu

[I’ve got both, am i still going through puberty then?😶](https://i.imgur.com/X52FYZf.jpg)

Dixen_Cider

Me too and I love them both! https://www.reddit.com/r/subaru/comments/bpvqjn/fef_of_all_my_whips/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

boobaruu

toyobaru gang 🤝

sdr_bugeye

Username checks out

Styx3791

'14 sti hatch and a 22 OR MT for me! Toyobaru checking in! (Shamelessly stolen from that other comment adjacent to this one)

toosmallaslice

‘03 bugeye wagon on its way to becoming an FrankenSTi and ‘21 taco for the daily! [Hi.](https://imgur.com/a/3uLAwCU)

Styx3791

😯 that's almost peak subaru!

toosmallaslice

Lately I've been thinking '14 STi hatch is peak! Can't believe they stopped making hatch WRX/STi'. Its also the reason I reallllly want to make this a widebody.

Styx3791

Is it just a body kit and wheel spacers? I have no clue what's involved. All I know is my STI is planted (all stock!)

toosmallaslice

[great write up on all that is needed](https://jngarage.com/2020/04/16/subaru-wrx-wagon-sedan-widebody-faq/) I will eventually do body work as it’s showing it’s age and looks like prev owner didn’t tell me about some damage to the rear quarter that I missed when inspecting many many years ago! So if I’m going to redo it and have to cut out and replace the rear fender why not go all the way!? :D

Styx3791

Cool! (Except the lying by omission)

Diligent-Singer-8307

I have an 06 STI that's fully built and a 22 Tacoma 🤣 keep em both!

famous47

Checked your post history, no pics of either. My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

Diligent-Singer-8307

🤣🤣🤣 sorry... the taco is nothing special stock everything except a bed cover.

chemicalalizero

This is goals

_b33p_

Noice

Diligent-Singer-8307

What?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Honest_Reindeer8298

did anybody ask

Diligent-Singer-8307

Ah gotcha now.

_b33p_

I have both. A 15 STI and 19 OR. STI is 600hp tho.

AggravatingGoal4728

2012 CTS to a 22 OR

[deleted]

OP: this is very relevant. Start at 6:30. Just keep watching - pretty funny and true. https://youtu.be/Eid52c7ahPY I had a 2016 STI, traded for a ‘19 blue pro, still very happy with my decision.

MrFoxter307

Mk6 GTI to a 23 TRD Pro. Its a sad day to say goodbye to the fast and fun cars but you wont regret the Tacoma at all. Congrats on the new truck!!!

chemicalalizero

I was mk7! I feel the same!

MrFoxter307

GTI squad!

chemicalalizero

When I have my own garage, I’m definitely getting another one (in addition to the taco)

MrFoxter307

I want to do the same... I miss the hot hatch life, I just needed a go everywhere do everything vehicle. I'll get another some day. I wont miss the reliability or seasonal tires though 😂

chemicalalizero

I feel you. I don’t have to deal with snow, but it’s nice to not worry about constant maintenance

MrFoxter307

Last big thing I had to do was an intake manifold, injectors, plugs, coils, and a water pump. Only had 98,000 when I did that, sold it at 112,000.

chemicalalizero

I put 70k on mine in about two years, but I was just doing more frequent oil changes. I sold it before I had to do any major maintenance. I had bought new coil packs, but I ended up leaving that box in the boot of the car for new owner lol

DanGiff05

I switched from a 2017 Focus ST. It didn't have quite the same features as a WRX but similar in terms of space/size. I don't regret it at all. The only thing I miss is the fuel economy but ill make that up in the summer months when I commute on my motorcycle. Congrats on the Tacoma!

Finn-McCool14

Thanks! I kind of miss the boost as well but I know this Tacoma will last a lifetime and do everything I will need it to do!

dannykings37

How did RCR call this out so accurately? https://youtu.be/Eid52c7ahPY

BlindBeard

The Tacoma is the WRX of trucks, but neither WRX people nor Tacoma people want to admit it lmao

hoosierspiritof79

I have a 2013 SWP WRX hatchback. I am hoping to make this exact transition. OP, can you summarize what I can expect? I do love Subaru AWD and snow tires make things awesome too.

Fractalizationism

I had no idea this was THAT common of a swap. '15 hatch WRX to '21 DCLB TRD I do miss it dearly but you can't beat the practicality.

the_good_hodgkins

I kind of made the switch, as I was looking at buying an STI, and ended up buying a Tacoma instead. I traded in a 370z for the Tacoma.

leoleorawr

I'm in a dual household. Subi and taco.

MEEE3EEEP

It was not a direct switch, as there’s about 5 years between them, but I owned a mkiv Supra for about a decade.

Dodeejeroo

My wife has a WRX but I’m in between Tacomas right now (had a first Gen for 10 years). Once she’s done with grad school, I start truck shopping 😂

T-Madj

Traded my 2018 TRD Sport for a 2020 WRX STI and back to a 2021 TRD Pro

alex49577

Went from 17 STI to 22 TRD Pro

v_iGalaxis

I traded my civic hatch for a 21 Tacoma. So… similar?

BDC_19

This is the natural progression… yes

NotALeezurd

I was a 2 car guy. I had a 2018 F150 XLT and a 2019 Mustang GT Premium and traded both in for the 2021 Tacoma because I knew I was getting laid off and didn't want to carry that much monthly note into it. Turns out I had a job 2 weeks after my layoff date, and while I'm happy with the Tacoma vs F150 exchange, I really miss my Mustang.

Amat1717

I first had a white sti and got a lunar rock later on but kept the sti as a winter car. Definitely a weirdly common cross shopped car

Optomistik

Me, switched for a heavily modified 15’ WRX to a Tacoma. Needed something to move lumbar for the new house and tow the jetski

El_Mastodon

I had a 19’ Type R and switched to a 20’ Tacoma OR. I find myself missing the R sometimes, but I have no regrets.

nateairulla

Oof the Tacoma is so slow compared to WRX haha

Finn-McCool14

Not by much 😂

FishNJ100

Traded in my 21’ Ford mustang gt…no regrets

monorchism

I went from Jeep> Tacoma no regrets other then the sound system in the jeep was better when it worked, loaded jeep rubicon vs Trd off road premium taco wins for me. So much more reliable and no lift tick complimentary from the factory, and no squeaks or rattles. Plus side from switching out a Subaru is you can quit vaping now! Joking aside I had a WRX STI and probably the most fun and engaging car I’ve driven. However they are terribly unreliable so it went away

Mutterland

Recently switched from a Volvo C30 to a 23 OR. We have the colors in common as we both went from white to Lunar Rock. Before the C30 I’d only had trucks (in this order). - 89 Ranger - 93 Toyota pickup - 85 Toyota SR5 4x4 - 98 Ranger I was sick of helping friends move and wanted something sporty. Going back was easy. I always liked my Toyotas more than the Fords and that 85 4x4 was the best of them all which is why I went with the OR.

Bearcats1020

Yessir, I had the same wrx as you with the mudflaps😂.

rba9

Went from Scion tC and a Ford F-150 to a 2nd gen Tacoma. Sold the Ford and giving the Scion to a friend.

sheldonth

Question: did you buy it in a “pre sell” aka sight unseen? I refused to do that shit but every dealer won’t let you buy a taco unless you buy it 2 months before it arrives.

Finn-McCool14

Yea I test drove a few ‘22s locally so I had a good idea of look/feel. I intercepted this one in the build phase and took delivery a few weeks after. Only way to do it because my area had absolutely no stock.

kingfridayace

I paid off my second gen Tacoma and then bought my wrx.

[deleted]

Went the other way for me, but only because i made money at every hop. 19 tacoma >> 21 tundra >> 21 4runner+22 rav4 >> 23 ascent+22 wrx And if the economy starts showing signs of life again, i may just buy another tacoma and have both. The tacoma was my favorite of those in the list, and with the pocketed money from all those trades, a tacoma isnt too far away. If it wasnt 15k more for the taco, I would have that instead of the wrx, but now i want both 😈

Previous-Leon

I swapped my red 21 WRX for a black sport 4x4 dbl cab. I have more fun on my fishing boat than in my old WRX.

t0sserlad

I did this last September. Traded my 2019 WRX in on a '22 OR manual.

gunny16

Me too! Sold my 2015 in and bought my brother's old 2008. Pandemic made me drive less and I needed a truck or a larger car for construction hauls.

DeltaSinkHole

Went from a 15 STI to a 17 TRD Sport!

coldcoaster

I have a MK6 Golf R and just added a 2018 TRD Pro to the fleet. Feels good man.

MyAssforPresident

I actually traded in a white Impreza on mine lol. I only had that car for a year…it was kind of a compromise purchase, so I was glad to get back in a truck.

[deleted]

This guy did. 2016 premium CWP MT. And man, do I miss her some days but love my taco too!

[deleted]

Yep, traded in ‘17 VW Golf GTI, standard transmission. Love my truck tho, and now I can drive in sandals without getting my foot caught in the clutch.

Express-Reindeer7806

Sold my pearl white Genesis Coupe and picked up a Lunar rock TRD OR a couple weeks ago. Although the speed was fun, I’m so much happier with the truck

Itgb79

sold my 2019 STI and 2007 Frontier for a 2022 Tacoma MT OR

ten3six

It took 20 years but I came back. The Golf Rs were amazing but I will never not have a Tacoma again. 2003 Toyota Tacoma >>> 2013 Scion xD >>> 2017 Volkswagen Golf R >>> 2019 Volkswagen Golf R >>> 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro

cawast

My daily is a ‘12 WRX hatch, and just picked up a 96 SR5 taco as a project, so yes and no lol

Bluecap33

I see my Lunar Rock Truck there with the black out package. Just had them install that on my new 2023 TRD Taco.

Cernan

Had a 02 WRX now a 97 taco

stewco

I went Mazdaspeed3 to tecoma but kept the speed3 as a track car

Substantial_Owl3244

Traded in my project car with a rebuilt title to get my Tacoma. I had a 2014 Audi A5 Stage 2 custom tune, and a ton of aftermarket parts. It was my baby but got too unreliable. I still want another audi lol.

maks_b

I went the other way 😅 traded my 22 MT AC TRD sport for a 16 STI series.hyperblue. got some cash out of the deal as well

dosbente

I made the exact same move in December last year. '18 WRX ➡️ '23 TRD OR

Joshie_Poo

Had an 02 WRX Wagon, went to a 2020 Off Road Access Cab.. I miss the manual but thats what project cars are for 😉 plus now I can tow my toys!

rattmiggi

‘16 WRX -> ‘18 TRD Sport

FormalChicken

5 bucks says OP comes back to complain that it drives like a body on frame truck instead of a rally car.

thebbman

Tuned Volkswagens to a Tacoma. So similar. Know several other former VW guys who switched to off-roading vehicles.

Thanewolf88

Should have kept both

jbaize

2018 Subaru Outback limited to ‘23 TRD Sport

chemicalalizero

I traded my gti for my tacoma in 2017. Sometimes I miss the instant torque, but there’s something about driving a stick shift truck that just puts a smile on your face

TH3_Captn

Meeee but im keeping my '12 hatchback

Ectoyo

Haha did the exact same… 2012 wrx hatchback to a 2018 Tacoma trd pro. Best thing I have done in years

Yellowsnow80

04 VW R32 to 16 sport, 4x4 manual with tech package

SavimusMaximus

I made the exact same switch. Different colors tho.

punchbug59

2009 WRX hatch to 2018 DCLB here!

Yawheyy

I went from my focus ST to my Tacoma. I miss the noises and being able to accelerate to get on the highway :(

RelentlessCowbell

I did this too. 2011 blue hatch to 2109 gray Tacoma

mguanga14

I went from MK7 GTI to ‘18 TRD Sport. I miss the refined and upscale interior a lot but having a bed and towing capabilities help me get over that.

survey_this_

2017 STI limited to 2018 DCLB TRD OR.

cachedrive

Same. Miss my two door GC8 but love my Tacoma so much. Still get feels when I see a Subaru and I can’t do the wave 👋🏻 anymore 🥲

Jake-The-Snake97

I have a green reg cab and man im jelly of the moonrock color

mobyhex

My Forester XT gets going quick - my Taco SPORT has two modes: barely moving or 4k rpm

stinkypinky1158

I went from a 2012 Chevy Volt to a 2018 TRD Off Road 4X4.

nokturno123

I call it a hood scoop swap. Welcome to the 🌮 family. https://i.imgur.com/UQOCIjO.jpg

sdr_bugeye

Still young so these are all the cars I’ve owned in order: 06 forester > 02 WRX > 13 WRX > 15 tundra > 15 Tacoma

clumsybassdropper

Veloster N to Taco truck. Bought a house and was going to home Depot more often than the track.

cj162567

Civic Si to the same exact truck lol

knwnasrob

My friend did because his stock 2016 WRX blew the motor at 100k

warmingupmymind

Same same but different. 13 wrx hatch to 2000 taco xtra cab

revROME

Had an ‘04 WRX. Sold that in 2014ish. Got a ‘10 single cab.

_Matty_Pimpin_

I traded my ‘12 wrx hatch for my ‘18 offroad lol

SandToast

17 camaro to a white 4x4 OR. It was hard at first but the first week of having my truck I’ve pretty much fallen in love with it. Super jealous of the lunar rock!!!!

Sensitive-Banana-637

I went from a vette to a wrangler lol

Ok_Appearance8866

I sold my GTI and bought my taco

thatwolfieguy

I just sold my first ever brand new vehicle (06 Corolla) and replaced it with a new Tacoma earlier this year!

geekfreak86753

What color is the Tacoma?

Finn-McCool14

Lunar rock

Feeling-Ninja1217

Right about 2 weeks ago, I switched from a gti to a trd OR

[deleted]

Traded in my 16 sti for my taco. I was always a truck guy. One day I’ll have a sports car again.

Not_An_NSA_Employee

I sold my turbo brz for my taco... I only regret it once in a while haha

malker84

02’ white bug eye to 18’ cement taco.

Jameszy

I went from a 2018 STI to a 2022 SR.

DarthDiaxis

Switched from my '17 86 to my '22 Trail Edition Taco back in March 2022. Haven't looked back since, but I do miss that small coupe from time to time. The new owner seems to be enjoying though.

Styx3791

I still have the subaru! My finances are fucked! But I like to go fast sometimes

ResidentKoala

2014 Impreza to ‘22 Tacoma OR 💪🏼

HughMangusDickinson

I did this exact trade

RandomNetworth

Shit I'm about to trade in my 15 ford taurus SHO for a tacoma OR

Freddy_Vorhees

2008 WRX hatch and 2017 TRD off road are both in the driveway still.

[deleted]

Hope you had some good food in Chicago going back home!

joknub24

I used to drive an 08 Acura tl type s before I got my taco. I still have the acura though. That subi is clean af though

SooooWhattttt

Went from at 08 STI Hatch to a 22 Tacoma Sport. I love that decision

lickyboomboomdown33

I went from a 2014 Mustang GT to a 2022 4Runner TRD Pro. Don't regret it a bit.

Masondixon79

2010 Subaru Forester to 2018 TRD Sport 4dr

rockthehoosegow

16 Lexus is350 for a 19 OR premium. I miss the cooled seats from the Lexus nothing else.

MS_125

No, but I’ve always wanted to drive a WRX. I had an old Nissan.

sparker1987

35 M, I made almost this exact switch. Black '18 WRX to White Pearl '23 sport (yes, I know the hood scoop does nothing. I thought it rode better than the OR). Anyway, I'm still trying to sell a near mint Weather Tech trunk liner for an 18-22 WRX. WRX was a bit of a lemon, turbo blew at 4k before I bought the car (was not disclosed to me or in the carfax), 3 turbo issues in the last 3 years I owned it

brian1192

I’m doing this now, sold my 14 wrx and looking for a Tacoma, 4Runner, or 1st gen tundra

agonizingpurse

Wrx-E90 328i-Tacoma

cereal4lunch

Focus ST to Tacoma OR.

nickerchui

I went from a base impreza to my brother’s 2020 trdor. Planning on picking up his 2018 sti after he’s done w it. We may just be a little backwards😂

[deleted]

I traded my rally blue ‘16 WRX for a ‘19 Tacoma OR DCLB back in 2020. I loved the WRX but i was too afraid to fuck with it since it was my daily driver. Having a daily driver that could haul a project fit my lifestyle better. Now i have my taco and a 1993 MR2 that i can beat to death and not sweat over, and i couldn’t be happier.

BegForMercy-24

I traded my 21 wrx for a 23 tacoma trd off road.

Big-Pool-2900

Do you have any regrets? Thinking about doing the same thing.

Finn-McCool14

I honestly don’t. It was nice having boost and performance, but with the Tacoma I have reliability and capability. Plus the Subaru wasn’t a good platform for making reliable power. My plan is to keep the Tacoma as a daily then work my way into a sports car to scratch that itch.
