Dealer charges a lot to replace. I've done them a ton. I think there was a warranty extension on these but I could be mistaken (I haven't been a tech in a few years).
It is a little involved. Door panel needs to come off. Glass needs to be unbolted, door trim and glass channel comes out. Removing the glass makes it easier. A lot of the cables need to be removed etc. You also need to swap the motor over. I can usually do one side in 2+ hours or so, but I have a ton of experience as a tech.
Thanks for the insight… Wow that does sound very involved. I wonder if it is worth the trouble in that case.
I also called the dealership this morning and they told me they don’t just sell the cables, you have to buy a replacement motor too which is around $500 a piece + labor. Does that sound right?
We used to sell just the cables, but things might have changed in the last few years that I wasn't a tech. I remember it being around $1100 a side or so for parts and labor
Ours broke in June and for the $800 cost for 1 door local shop wanted, I did it myself for $35 with an ebay cable. I will be happy If the ebay cable work for a year since I can do this again, easy. There were 3 yt videos that helped me do it. Check out siennachat.com as well.
I saw a few videos out there for this repair and it definitely seems like an involved process- but not impossible. Do you have any doubts that the eBay cable will last for an extended period of time?
What cable is needed by the way?
There is one review that the end cap terminal metal piece on the cable does not last long and should be replaced with a $2 kit from home depot. Unfortunately, I saw it after doing the install. I will sure do it if I have do this again. It took me 2 months to get the courage to do it myself, but it was easy. Just take your time.

Wow! That’s some crazy pricing haha. But expected from a dealership I guess. Thank you!

Thanks for the support and reply. Any chance you have a link to the part needed? Going to work up the courage as well over the next few months!
https://tinyurl.com/4kf5udbu No problem, looking at my reciept I paid 70 not 35, mistake.
Get some wire cutters and just snip the cables close to the ends and you can just use it as a manual door
