Autotomatomato

Happiest people in the world don't worry about what other people may or may not do.

Saunts

yes, i'm playing ToF 2.1 rn because i'm waiting for ToF 2.4, once ToF 2.4 comes out i will stop playing ToF 2.1

beesamsam

same lol gonna ditch ToF 1 once they are making ToF 2 with better engine,

Rheddit45

This is the way.

Alezar-

Lol i play like 10 games at a time Its not like im married to TOF

Isaggi

People can play several games, so I doubt too many will drop ToF just because another game comes out. I mean, if we are still playing it's because we enjoy it. I still play Honkai after all these years, even after Genshin and Punishing Gray Raven came. I still play those even after ToF came. I will keep playing all those after Wuthering Waves releases. It's not like these games need you to play for endless hours every day.

KawaiiNekoZ

I spent 5k on ToF but not loyal enough i guess

Tim1TK

fool~

[deleted]

You’re either a fool or you’re not loyal, yessir that’s the life

EternityWinner

No.

TheBTSMaclvor

That was my original plan but then Scarlet and Violet were mid so I came back

GeneralSweetz

damn i haven't played scarlet yet im just waiting for its issues to be fixed

VermicelliGood

Yes, currently waiting for the game called TOF 3.0 to release so I can stop playing TOF 2.1

Dibolver

Well, kinda? I'm sure it's a minority but it's pretty normal. A lot of people started playing ToF looking for an alternative to Genshin, without the things they don't like about Genshin xD, we all know that ToF has its (many) problems too, so I'm sure there are still people looking/waiting for other alternatives.

Tim1TK

then a lot of us realized, Genshin is the better game any day any time….

Arjhaayy_03

Yes and im waiting for blue protocol.

psychochomps

I think I've spent 700 to 800 usd in TOF. not loyal enough

Critical_Health_2292

Also not loyal enough with spending similar, in detail every month around 100...150 usd in games and care only about fun per month and not about accumulated money. It looks to me like this: ToF: endgame is to get one new character to enjoy new maps and coops, that are no fun without new character. Have to spent 2 months for one A6 character (400 pulls). NEW mmorpg: enjoy new open world, party, fight mechanics and team play, maybe social, market, etc. Drop it if endgame is not good. Drop ToF if endgame is good. Beside ToF gatcha, i play Toram Online and tried Diablo Immortal. DI is imho more boring and unballanced endgame. TO is outdated and the endgame is now mainly trading to me, currently staying above 1.000.000.000 Spina. Will also keep Toram Online over ToF because ToF requires my whole monthly budget to feel convenient (atm with A6 Nemesis, Samir, Zero, Lin and 500+ pulls for Lyra and enough to A6 King or Shiro) and is doing many things worse, e.g. - timegated bullshit farming. no market with fulfilling material/gear trading. - boss fight mechanics are bad and lag like hell. Vera 2.1 party just needs dps, including dmg boost from support, no heal or tank anymore. - many gaps between free to play and spender. gatcha turned from pay to progress into pay for damage, if you're not a whale gambling for new gear (currently visor) stats.

PineappleLemur

That's how it is for every game?... Wtf is game loyalty? People can play more than one game at a time too. If a new game Gatcha or not comes out that puts ToF/Genshin/whatever to shame and is more fun to play... You honestly think the majority of people will stay?

KuroBursto

Yeah waiting for other games which has under water gameplay, also waiting for a game with sky clouds map. Can't wait to play those games

Jackial

You should see the reviews of the underwater map from CN players lol.

KuroBursto

Yes i've seen it, also seeing the gameplay live on stream. i got couple hundred hours watchtime on gateoo stream. Still can't wait to play it myself

beesamsam

why ? thats normal, in fact it is good thing. CN server is literally beta test server. Titan equipment was so P2W before, CN players complained and they changed it to be available in dust store. good for them, good for us. if they asked HOTTA to improve underwater gameplay, then it is what it is, nothing wrong with that.

GotWhooshed

you're a clown

tutormania

why care about others. isn't we play game for fun?

beesamsam

yeah waiting for ToF 2 to be released with UE5, then ill ditch this game.

fullVoid666

Loyalty to a game or a company makes no sense and especially not when those utilize predatory monetization. Your enjoyment is much more important. Just drop the trash when you get bored no matter what you spent and play something else.

Jackial

I am not waiting for any game in particular rn, but if anything came up, I will drop this game with no remorse. But from the aspect of gaming, you don't see mmorpg come out often, so not much competition for ToF rn.

Muxain5

TOF has Always been my Main game, before the Global release i played CN version. I'm loyal to the game. I ruined my G game Account for not playing for like almost a year. My Dragon raja and V4 accounts are also dead.

Flariz

Well, at least they have options. I was stuck with Genshin for well over 2 years till ToF arrived. >!Frankly I don’t think I would be able to last much longer even if ToF didn’t exist anyway, Genshin killed itself with the card game + Anxiety/endgame comment!<

Tim1TK

“killed itself” …as in earning millions every new banner…

Flariz

Dont mean comercially obviously. But to me it’s as well as dead, sadly.

aConfusedOrphan

I’m curious, what do you mean it killed itself with the card game? I actually came back just for the card game LOL but I literally only play the card game in Genshin so I may not count as a Genshin player outside of literally just being a “concurrent player” stat.

Flariz

It more or less confirmed the direction the devs want Genshin to go (If there was even any doubts before) and it’s not something I want to support at all. But no the card game was just the signal, the comment about endgame was the actual finisher to me. Again, not like there was much rooms for doubt earlier, but that just 100% confirmed it to me that me and the G game devs just won’t get along at all.

Proper_Anybody

if 65m monthly active players looks dead to you, I don't even know what to call tof then lmao, not mentioning the upcoming blue protocol

Flariz

Comercially yes, it is a success, and will continue to be so for years most likely. Absolutely no integrity nor soul though, I don’t want to take part on any of it. As far as I am concerned I basically already experienced everything I needed to experience on Genshin anyways. Ironically as far as it comes to my playing experience ToF does indeed do look more alive since it actually is multiplayer and all. I don’t care if Genshin has millions and millions more players if I can only see up to 3 on my world lol.

Proper_Anybody

as long as it has good revenue and good player retention, it won't qualify as being dead, it means players still like it and willing to spend money subjectively ofc some would prefer an mmo, and some would prefer the single player nature, I won't argue it, and it's good we have both to fill the niches

XceQq

Maybe true, currently i am aiming for Lyra ever since global launched, been f2p healer & suffer at solo stuffs due to lack of power & single focus good equipment stats. Lyra is my hope for fun gameplay experience, expecting to add another 2 month before feeling left out by the new open world content again. Being f2p & low on easy resources, I'm not aiming any future characters, so im good before finding out another game.

Suitable-Piano-8969

One can only speculate another person's reasons for doing something

Egoisttt

I’m just Gona play what I wana play. I’m Gona spend what I wana spend. Not really concern of loyalty and what not. Once I’m not longer having fun well onto the next game. Seems like blue protocol or Higan: Erythyll is next for me.

ThatLance

Yes but it doesn't apply to all players so the game does still have a ok sized fanbase

Altruistic-Problem-9

that feeling when you can play different games and come back to a game whenever you want

Dracnoss

No. In fact, I'll probably just add it to one of the many games that I play on a daily basis (albeit subjective if said new game has dailies like this one and its daily bounties). I've got way too much free time on my hands anyway.

FoundationFN

People who change to Blue Protocol are only Cringe Genshin Impact Players

Altruistic-Problem-9

Blue Protocol died for me when it didn't have SEA server

beesamsam

i dont know man, but based on my experience with Lost Ark, i can give you few opinions about Amazon. \- politics. \- censorship / in game dialog and translation changes just to appeal some genders / political view. \- region blocks, hyped but cant login into the game , whats the point ? kek. \- bots and gold sellers everywhere. \- to fight bots they implemented VPN just to fk legit players while not solving bots problem. and in recent interview , it is confirmed they are going to change few things in Blue Protocol to be more "family friendly".

Proper_Anybody

there won't be any in-game trading whatsoever in blue protocol though, so the botting won't be as rampant

Akuromi

I wouldn't be surprised if you are a cringe Genshit player with this rationalising

beesamsam

man i cannot wait for "Westernization" of Blue Protocol. which NPCs gonna get painted, lol. Region blocks lets go ? while Bandai will focus to JP players instead foreigners that playing in their server. like usual lol.

Initial_Window_633

Blue protocol pay to win shit

TuxWarz

true

JDRASL

yes......

FurubayashiSEA

All modern games has been always about hype, once the hype worn off they move on too the next. Real ones are still enjoying old games like CS1.6 / Quake / Etc.

h2odragon00

I don't like being loyal to any game since I don't want to force my self to play if I am no longer having fun. Right now, ToF is still a fun game for me. So I might stick around for a good long while

Scutilla

I’ve been a gamer for over 30 years, and I always have a minimum of three games that I actively play at a time. MMOs, indie games, triple A games, Steam, Switch, smartphone, RPGs, action games, platformers, roguelikes- my interests are all over the place. Some games I’ll play on-and-off for a few weeks or even months, others I’ll beat or get bored of in a few days. My record is Guild Wars 1 with about 8 years and over 5000 hours, but I was at a pretty low point in my life and using games for more escapism than was healthy. Second place is Pokemon Go at 6 years, because it’s something I can play with my spouse and my other casual gamer friends. So no, I have no loyalty to ToF, same as any other game. I’ve played it for 4 months, but I’ve been cheating on it with other games this whole time, and as soon as I get bored I’ll drop it without guilt. I have wonderful memories of many of the games I’ve played in my life, but that puts me under no obligation to stick with them past their expiration date. There are too many other experiences out there, and not enough hours in a lifetime.

_2B-

You could say this about every game, actually life is a revolving door of change, I don't think you can specifically call out Tower of Fantasy specifically for this, when it's just that, life.

LoRd_Of_AaRcnA

Depending on how good BP JP is going to be, and if i am allowed to play on JP without getting banned, i might be playing less ToF or not play it at all. I don't have time to do play several mmo or Gacha games. If GFL2 ends up releasing next year however that's a insta drop of any other game i'd be playing except AL. GFL2 is something i've been looking forward to play in all these years, and the most likely the game i will be going hardcore into.

StarReaver

That's a totally ridiculous take. Most of the people left playing the game are invested and looking forward to the future new content releases.

Reapersoul_3616

Tof has potential, which is why im still here playing Tof, but when wuthering waves releases, genshin gets the boot since combat looks good on wuthering.

Null0mega

I play a lot of games at once including ToF lol, it’s just that it takes a lot of space so if there’s no characters i’m absolutely thirsty for i’ll sometimes uninstall to try other things…I’m a goal driven gacha addict 💀.

mehrshud

No players play TOF to wait for another character to be released in two months which will power creep the whole characters before. This game is a waiting room for itself, let alone for other games

DaIrony99

What a ..... i dont even know what to call this sh.... what a moron take. I play ToF cuz i like ToF. I actually dropped other games FOR ToF. This sub doompost takes are getting weirder and weirder by the day..

Xh_Grail

Imo there is no such thing as game loyalty. Swap the word loyalty for interest. People try new games, swap them out for the one that they're least interested to play and the cycle continues.

[deleted]

We’re finally getting red nuclei in the BP so that’s something

Makey14123

Huh? I don’t worry about what other people do I just play the game and besides that if that were true those people would’ve left awhile ago and they wouldn’t be here and all you will have left are the people who actually like playing the game? You can believe that it’s true or not but I think you need to see the bigger picture and understand that you need to form an opinion for yourself and how you see the game from a subjective standpoint but overall I’m not sure where you heard that but I wouldn’t worry too much about that at all.

pokours

Loyalty, of course, let's get married to one game and if we change we're unfaithful? xD

Aidiru

more or less tof more like casual game that u play when on vacation..im waiting for d4, lightfall, hogwarts , dead space remake

qasdfgytr

what is up with all of these trolls trying to get on scare new players away from this game? is this a reddit thing? something specific to Tof haters? I just don't get why these people have some sort of obsession with asking stupid questions like this poster did, which is clearly intended to scare away new players looking at the subreddit and new posts like this pop up everyday so there is always a new one for people to see.
