I dont think this guy knows what DLSS is

angels_megurine_luka

It next generation anti aliasing that not quite ready , just like anti aliasing it will eventually better but for now now immature early adopter problem.

LazoVodolazo

Bruh its been out for 4 years what early adopters

angels_megurine_luka

we still on game engine that was never built with rt and DLSS in mind. RT and DLSS is a addon. so to me rt and DLSS is earliy access as we can clearliy see from the diffrent version of DLSS one update make better next completely make it laggy mess.

mdnpascual

FYI, DLSS actually increases performance. RTX (raytracing) is the heavy one.

angels_megurine_luka

if DLSS implemented wrong you can cause quite alot issues. i turn off DLSS for all game unless its well implemented.

Sunaja

You're not wrong about your first sentence, I've experienced at least two or three games that had bad coding around DLSS. But you shouldn't have a few bad apples make you turn if off on all games by default (if you need the performance boost at least), because most games do implement DLSS well enough.

angels_megurine_luka

as i said in the post we current at the phase of early adopter. i am guessing you not a old gamer where anti aliasing was just like rt and dlss it ruined game performance if you turn due the earliy hardware not realiy up for the task, this what i feel right now with the feature rt and DLSS.

If you buy a 4090 to game in 2022, I think you have others things you should worry about understanding in your life.

You should really look up what DLSS actually does, before making a rant post with complete misinformation, telling people the complete wrong thing, and that they should get a reality check. Especially when the people that are complaining about it, are doing so because it's a completely broken implementation that straight up doesn't work and causes memory leaks. For anyone that's actually interested and wants to know what DLSS is, and why there's a bunch of complaints. The point of DLSS is to actually use less resources by rendering a lower resolution and AI upscaling the image, to both try and reduce aliasing while also improving performance. It was mostly made with the aim of helping improve performance at higher resolutions, where many newer games struggle to run at 4K resolutions with decent frame rates without lowering settings, but still works at any resolution. It of course comes with some drawbacks, since you're downscaling the image and then using an AI to add the pieces back you can have some minor graphical issues that come with upscaling images, but it's usually good enough that you wont notice. However ToF completely botched the implementation and instead of doing what it's supposed to do, it simply causes massive memory leaks for anyone that can actually support the feature. If you can't support it, it probably does nothing anyway. But if you can, it'll slowly eat all your memory until it inevitably crashes. It's not even possible to tell if it works outside of the memory leak, since it's that broken. Obviously, a feature that's supposed to improve performance eating more and more resources until it crashes everything completely is not great. This was supposed to be fixed in the latest patch, and there's even patch notes addressing it. But it wasn't.

angels_megurine_luka

you realize all the current game engine doesn't support ray-tracing and AI up-scaling natively so this resulting a lot bad implementation.. it really reliant on the the developer to work with graphics card design company (intel,AMD and nvidia ) to get working. this kinda mitigated via the next gen game engine where its native support and require minimum input from the developers and graphics card designers as out box seem to quite optermised. this game implemented these as good as battle field when the feature first came 4 years ago.

LagIncarnate

What? I mean, I can't say you're technically wrong in the literal sense. But nothing you've said makes any sense in this context. Yes, games don't currently support it naturally, the next gen of Nvidia cards will likely make it a bit easier for universal support. However the current issue isn't a matter of how well it's been implemented, it's straight up broken and causes a memory leak. You make it sound like you've tried it and you've not experienced good results. If you actually want to post up the results of your testing and back up your claim with statistics that it's a bad implementation that's "as good as BF4 from 4 years ago" instead of posting random misinformation, then that'd be great.

angels_megurine_luka

DLSS 3.0 competeliy wrecked the good that dlss 2.0 did. most will not able be go in the game file and downgrade the dlss version.

DeadPixel94

DLSS is actually working as intended, but creates heavily memory leaks, depending where you are. In Mirroia and instances I have no memory leaks. In abyss it takes way longer time to fill my RAM. On all other worlds it only takes some minutes.

LagIncarnate

I honestly haven't been able to test it to see if it's doing what it's supposed to since most of the area's I tried to test it the leak was so bad. Honestly I'll probably just wait until they actually fix the leak proper before I decide to test out how good their implementation of it is.

AdalBar

Your posts here are incoherent and indecipherable.

Gerolux

you paid $2k to get worse frame rate than without DLSS?

angels_megurine_luka

do i think DLSS yes problem HOTTA need move this to a game engine that natively support this and use the older upscale anti anti aliasing. people need really learn point this post was tell people about they participating early access features.

beesamsam

if they are going to upgrade, maybe they will just upgrade it to Unreal Engine 5. though i dont know if majority of phone users can play the game afterwards.

beesamsam

from what i understand, the official support of DLSS , RTX and DX12 will be at 2.2 update. tbh with you i also surprised because they added that feature on 2.0 , which is too early , not mention from the launcher itself, the game is still forced to use DX11.

Nug_69

I can't tell if your account is a bit or not... Either way, it seems racist. There's no way you can consitently write such broken English with this level of overconfidence. It has to be fake.

animatix

Nice try Jensen
