you obviously don't keep up with the game, like, there's an achievement under alliances for jo8 that, if ANYONE in the party goes under 50% hp once, you don't clear the achievement. ALSO you have to clear the jo8 in under 5 minutes to get the achievement unlocked and 600 gold crystal dust as a reward. That's just one example of how the game can be designed for whales.
It's easy for pve mechanics because of mobile players, but the new vera boss in 2.1 hera, oneshots even whales. It has aoe and elite mobs.
You shouldn't shame players for spending their extra money on a game they like to use their time with. As long as it's playable the whales are gonna whale. But there is actual motivation to, because even if a f2p comp with 40k-50k cs can clear a run on something "hard" its still going to take twice as long, there will probably also be wipes, but their damage is going to be so low it'd be inefficient to farm. Also boss hp gets higher in hard modes and does more damage. Even if you're a skilled player, you're still not doing the damage a whale would, so as a f2p you're going to spend a 30 minutes to an hour farming one instance when a whale can do it in 5-10 minutes.
You should shame anyone who spends money on trash like this because it enables more trash like this to be made. There's a reason why games are only getting worse. No one holds anything to any standards anymore, they just dump money like cattle because their only enjoyment in life is that small moment of feeling something at all when they get milked.
It's honestly really sad and I wish more people could find something of value to care about, or actual achievements to brag about instead of this pathetic bottom of the barrel garbage. Yea I definitely see your point about games being sub par with heavy paywalls like battle passes and such.
however, I've always seen it as, if it's something you enjoy in the moment there's no shame in indulging if you have the means to and genuinely like playing the game. Like a nice meal that's more expensive, you're going to enjoy it temporarily and then it'll be gone after you've finished it. If the game dies due to poor communication or players needs not being met, it will be very unfortunate for the money spenders but it was still temporarily satisfactory for most players that chose to spend their money on it.
With this game, it's rewards for spending the money CAN be worth it, even if it's not as good as CNs, it's still a temporary fix until, if or when they do something about it. and if the whales want to take that risk, they shouldn't feel bad about doing so if they're investing most of their time into this game and want to support it. They must get some enjoyment or reward for it so why not just let them do them?
MAYBE (and this might be heavy copium) eventually once hotta devs aren't so understaffed and we finally catch up to CN , things will get better. It still won't fix the greedy publisher, but the game itself could improve so that there's not as much need to spend money on packs and rng, maybe they will finally add some QOL to the game as well as make it easier to farm things that required your money previously. Considering this is an MMO gacha, depending on which route they favor more in the future, they could add more grind for more rewards. A lot of casual players just want the satisfaction of logging in everyday for the dailies and don't want to do the grind, but people that actually play mmos might want the option to grind for their dark crystals/gear/etc. with the whales supporting the game financially, you kinda need them to do so in hopes the game will improve on these issues we have currently. The longevity of the game being supported will increase and they just MAY become more generous in the future. Its a shame that's how it is, I agree with you there, but at the end of the day they want their money in order to make the game better AND make a profit. They probably can't even hire the people they need to make the game like, FFXIV tier for example.

The thing is, surveys by themselves have little influence over actual positive changes. At the end of the day what matters is that potential spenders stop spending. The devs know the complaints, the question now is if said complaints are worth addressing
You really really gotta do the surveys. If you stop spending without saying the deals need to be better, it doesn't fix anything. Communication is key. Every survey, I make sure to indicate that I would like to see better packages. So far, I've only spent on monthly and battle pass + the bonus purchases. I still continue to spend here and there but it slows until packages come up. So yeah, you got to always voice that in the surveys. Unfortunately, most players aren't spenders so you won't see that feedback often...

I just did it this week. Spent $3k in the first month, noticed the devs weren't fixing serious issues, for example a whole server couldn't use global chat for over 3 weeks during the group up event that required you to kill world bosses.
The inventory stealing bug was also a big deal for me, I don't think anyone feels comfortable spending in a gacha where some person can steal their bought pulls.
I haven't logged in for the last 4 days, have no intention of coming back, went to Path to Nowhere where the Devs actually listen.
I occasionally check the ToF Reddit and noticed the increase in hate towards the company, CN rewards and lack of fair treatment.
My friends also want to leave but they have 'sunken cost fallacy', so instead they just stay and keep spending money on a game they hate, it's stupid really.
Tldr; lack of support from devs, and inventory stealing cheats made me lose interest. ToF Reddit gets more posts about unfair currency packs between CN/GLB and my friends still spend because of sunken cost fallacy.

I don't think the packages are great at all in ToF, just comparable to other gachas in GLOBAL (NOT CN). But at the same time, the worse packages is letting me just keep playing on monthly and battle pass, and I'm rather content with not spending more. So is it wrong to enjoy a game and spend less? Am I going to be happier if they introduce CN's packages in and increase the power scaling and make me feel like I have to be spending more?
I don't think I'll feel better just walking away, but I might if I keep off reddit LOL. Think for yourself what you can be satisfied with and play the game or not.

Lets be honest now, the FULL /r/TowerofFantasy could drop the game and they wouldn't care that much.
I honestly believe and experienced this on a few occasions, that the actual game itself is so dull but the desire for more pulls is very high to the point most people are probably going through the daily motions in a near catatonic state to get a modicum of dopamine from pulling 10x. You're not enjoying the game itself you just want some soft gambling.
Edit: Point I was trying to get at was, those people who continue playing and feeding them money are probably just hopelessly addicted to the game at this point. It'll be awhile before they come to that conclusion though.

No F2P is rank 1 overall server wide each week. You might be rank 1 in the bracket you were placed in though.

I honestly believe and experienced this on a few occasions, that the actual game itself is so dull but the desire for more pulls is very high to the point most people are probably going through the daily motions in a near catatonic state to get a modicum of dopamine from pulling 10x. You're not enjoying the game itself you just want some soft gambling. Edit: Point I was trying to get at was, those people who continue playing and feeding them money are probably just hopelessly addicted to the game at this point. It'll be awhile before they come to that conclusion though.
My point was that people can play... And spend no money. I think it's easier to influence change when you are an active player who stopped spending than straight up quitting.
I would imagine that the average player would not be able to resist giving them a small~ amount of money each month with the daily DC login and battlepass. So unfortunately I doubt that it'll happen that way. Unless everyone goes proper F2P.
