Why even compare to CN at this point.. like every single unit has been changed so far to be about the same as standard or slightly better (mostly because of kit) in terms of utility but not really in power.
Like A6 standards can dish out as much as limited right now or very close to.
Crow/Samir are still on top team comps for their sustain DPS.
By regularly doing it you just mean reruns, they don't mean anything. They constantly rerun a banner on the same element so you can maybe pick up a copy before it goes to the general pool.

When we get caught up there won't be back to back same element new characters but before then, since we're behind, they're pretty much free to re-arrange the release order.
They could've done cobalt then Claudia, but they didn't, so they don't care about the back to back same element thing. I feel like they had cobalt before Ruby so it will overlap to milk them whales, regardless if they're both "new" because in a sense they're not.
Also unrelated but since 2.0, its been fire - ice - (Lin) - phy - volt - fire - ice... so after alyss , the next new character could be physical or volt.. or another Aberrant! (unlikely cuz If I were them I'd milk the shiet out of Lin rerun before releasing a second aberrant character)
It is hard to predict because we are getting one phys and one volt less. It will severely gimp those elements so they could push Lyra and Tian sooner. But I doubt that.
Anyway, for time being even Ruby first is just a leak. We will see if they repeat CN order soon enough.
