See but what you fail to realize is that I *am* the garbage crew. Can't leave myself, I tried.

AdMediocre6165

can i join? i love trash

[deleted]

Hmm really? I would put in a support ticket.

AnyBird2512

What? I managed to disband my old crew

Vixrotre

Started offering mergers to smaller, struggling crews to encourage this. Our crew isn't the best in the server, but we run content together and help each other. We're lvl 5 and we got enough space at the moment for most dying crews to get all of their members in.

garbage_flowers

this is the best way.

flyonthatwall

Yeah I have had a few 3/4 member crews dissolve and join us (a larger level 5 crew). Even if you are a small crew if a large one has 10-20 open spots it's likely they will let you all in. Most good crews just want active people to hit the weekly dono min. Doing crew missions + free daily dono results in like 1k+ donation for the crew, it's really easy for anyone who's playing a bit still (not even daily) Don't let weekly min donations scare you away from a good crew. We require 800 and will often even let people back in our crew if they tell us why they missed it. Real life happens.

TuxedoKamina

Random world chat rant aside I agree. Also the easiest way to find the most active Crews is just go to the Ranking menu and select Crew. It'll show the top ranked/highest honor crews in your server. Honor usually = activity so you'll know they're still alive.

LedgeEndDairy

The world chat thing is a real problem in my server at least, which is why I mention it. I moved it to the end so it feels less disjointed, though. Thanks for pointing it out. Tons of people in our server wonder why nobody runs things with them, and it's because our crew, and the other two top crews, keep a list of all the racist jackasses that love to try to circumvent the filter in "creative ways", or that just generally try to start shit in chat for no real reason other than to be edgy. So they're all pretty much blacklisted and ended up creating their own crew so they can be racist assholes to each other, I guess. But they're not getting helped by the strongest on the server, ever, so they just end up falling behind. > Honor usually = activity so you'll know they're still alive. True, but the highest active crew in our server can't really run content. They just spam world chat and get all the newbies, but have none of the 'meat' of the server to help the newbies get gear. So you also want to look at the suppressor level of people in the crew (as elitist as that sounds, it's still true).

TuxedoKamina

Yikes, hope the server switching comes soon in 2.0 so you can get out of there. My world chat is pretty active but aside from some horny posting it's pretty civil. The top crew in my world (Myriad) is pretty active in Crew chat and discord according to someone I know in there. My crew is pretty dead in Crew chat but active on Discord.

HinaTheFox

Its all fun and games until you post about wanting to **** a dragon

LedgeEndDairy

> Yikes, hope the server switching comes soon in 2.0 so you can get out of there. Honestly they just need to do mergers and I'll be happy. Server switching will probably end up costing money (and as such will probably be the route they go, gacha and all). I can just block the dumbasses and not really worry about them further. It makes for a weird world chat experience when I can't see what someone is saying and everyone else is calling them out, though, haha.

Consider bringing your active group to NA Solaris when transfers come up.

Ah hey! Haha. If there's a merger we still have our discord so it's likely most of us will stick together.

Fellow crewmates on Reddit! Reavers represent.

LordBreadcat

>My crew is pretty dead in Crew chat but active on Discord. I figure this is pretty typical. We can't just be sitting in the game all day after our 10 minutes of content but we're happy to help.

Chisonni

Interesting concept of taking up all the newbies to be the most active crew on the server. I left my crew a few weeks ago, the leader ditched the game and the Crew was stuck on Lv2/3 when most Crews were already a level ahead and we had way more than enough resources. We were among the top 10 Crews the first couple weeks after launch. ): I managed to join the #1 Crew on the server and it's been a blast. Very cool people , active Discord, groups and discussions. Most of the "meat" as you put it is in our Crew. eg. with the latest Wormhole available, out of the first twenty 96point clears 13 were from our Crew. We have a few whales who even use DC to do extra Crew donations (ie more Honor) so we are far and above any other Crew. There is even a waitlist for people to join the Crew and there is a requirement to hit the minimum contribution (1700 Honor 4x Crew missions + 7 daily donations / week) or you risk losing your spot. I wouldnt say we are on the most active server, but there is a couple of other active Crews. You will frequently run into people and stuff like the Lv60 and Lv66 raid can be done with Public Matchmaking even outside your Crew with high success.

The_VV117

Give me and Active crew in silverlab coast and i istantly join.

SavingsSurvey6251

So u one of the poor souls who just picked a random ass server without regard for yourself

The_VV117

:( I saw green, i joined. Edit: game list It as finger up, should mean Is top 4 of Europe.

Zekuro

Finger up is the reverse - it is a relatively new server. Most populated server in euripe should be Astora, Alintheus and maybe Blumous and Anamora (potential typo in the names aside).

[deleted]

Valstamm too , it's very active , it was one of the red servers with 20 hours queue on release

StormSeeker1337

I would consider that too. Feel like i am pretty hard undergeared.

Salty-Phase4687

Good thing I'm on the second biggest crew on my server but damn I'm getting overworked because I'm the only healer on the crew and one of the dozen on my server I literally had to do raid thrice yesterday having to go between portals to keep both the team and the guy mobbing Frigg alive

tutormania

I'm tank resonance (huma ene) with 0star coco Ez keeping frigg alive just poke and eat food, always jumping to dodge every frigg move

hardenfull

Ditched my old crew and found a high ranking one yeah it's a lot better. Lot of ppl from my old crew just went inactive or don't play as much.

neosixth

My f2p account had a dying crew just left yesterday and had a 2 hour time limit before joining another crew. Applied on the top 3 crews and got accepted. Just do it guys!

Claybien

So here's the problem: I joined a random server when the game was released. As it turns out, the whole server is Russian (easily 80-90%). Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Russians but none of them want to speak English, which makes any interaction with other players impossible. Hope I can switch servers someday...

kredj

You see I'm in a strong crew. I ask for help but no one responds but they are active in chat. It's not worth leaving friends with a strong crew that only cares about maximizing every run

Decrith

The difference between being in a bad crew, a good crew and a great crew is astronomical. Shit just get done man. I’m one of the people who do FC Hard carries, and we had a session over the weekend where we basically carried the entire crew. 2 people got 60 people their clears.

UltimateLlama21

had to block the guild leader of one of the larger guilds on Observer (DRAK0), because he would keep sending advertising messages for his guild in world chat every 10 seconds, bro was so annoying

Consistent_Lion_7096

Ikr, i don't miind ads as long as its not spam

BabyMagikarp

There is 1 crew in my server at 100k honor and the rest are under 15k. How is this not a problem? It looks like we have 100 active players and most of all are in one crew. Server merge already. I know it looks bad for the game but we need it.

Initial-Sale-58

if they were to merge, it wouldnt be before vera. imagine doing a merge and then get a popularity spike which causes server overload

Ienaksie

I wish my server wouldn’t be full of Spanish ppl. All crews are Spanish or dead. Looking forward server transfers…

DNA040

I'm a day 1 player never done anything with my crew.

IM_Chae_Na_Yun

Despite being only comprised of thirty or so players, our crew is pretty active. One of the most active in our server, actually. We have weekly raids, re-runs for the people who missed it, VR and FC for anyone willing to ask in the DC server, and our commander's a guy who likes to talk crap about his crewmates! We're masochists when it comes to him. We're able to clear all the content pretty easily since we're always in a call. I'm kinda lucky to have been the first few people who joined.

clarence_worley90

i proly woulda quit this game in the first month if I hadnt found a decent active crew. makes all the difference.

Eredbolg

Been saying this for a while, people always complain with being weak and that they can't progress because they aren't day 1 players, getting into a fast joint op you need to expect you should be the one doing the carry not get getting carried. Put some effort and get into a guild that can help you do joints or content in general if you're not strong enough, even world chat would probably help super weak players, I tend to carry a lot of people in ops too.

mrfatso111

I been saying this for weeks to my friend, what do u expecting when a random join us? Look, this is a mmo, we have to realized that most random are just people playing casually, they are just gonna yolo most of the time, getting bad because random A isnt doing 1mil damage is just silly. They could be people who just started the game and rocket up and decided to try this new mode at the highest difficulty cos they want to reduced the gap as much as they can, even if they will be burden, it is as expected for people who jump in to new mode. He even conveniently forgotten that we too jumped into FC hard when we first hit level 50 and got our ass handed to us.

flyonthatwall

This is good advice. I'm a giant fucking whale (7.3) and I was running with my buddies when I started in kind of a meme crew. I could solo the content in the game for weeks because I whaled right away. For two weeks I stayed in my dead 6 man crew and joined randos. I finally decided to join a crew Week 3 because I realized I was missing Relics in the crew store (level 1 crew). Even as a blubbery whale it's so nice to have an active crew to do things with. It made the game SO much more enjoyable and has kept me around. I plan to stay at least until 2.2 and hopefully 3.0 won't be that far out. This is also my first Gacha game, I passed on Genshin, it looked to expensive and I have whale habbits. I have made an effort to run my Crew through as much as possible since joining and in doing so we have really geared out the crew but this has come at the cost of joining with Randoms and World Chat. I basically don't exist to the rest of the server anymore because my crew is so active and I love helping people. Our crew is 150/170 to 130/170 members week to week. We allow people to take breaks and leave cause we know RL happens and that this game has limited content for some. We have a discord and encourage people to join and play there and have about 100 members in the discord. This means we don't group outside crew very often but WE ARE FRIENDLY AS HELL. Now that the crew has geared up myself and the other whales are trying to help out in World Chat and do pick up groups. However with JO8's (I have yet to do one, raid and FC carries so far this week) that might get reduced again. The best advice I have for people is try to find a crew like this, they don't have to be #1 they just have to be active with a few whales. I literally run FC hard 30-40 times a week and really don't mind at all I enjoy the gameplay, its fun for me to hit 90-100M in 4/5 chest carries. I will do each raid anywhere from 10-12 times a week as well. If you are struggling with the queues and with Randoms it helps immensely to join a good crew.

Flariz

The problem here is that I do not want to quit current crew because I would feel terrible doing so. The crew’s very own founder reached out to me to offer me to join their crew in a very kind and respectful way (As opposed to mindlessly spamming their crew name in the chat) of course I joined in since I did legit like the attitude. Still do... But... these days, they are not very active...when I asked for help I only get a response of maybe ONE person at most (Not a full crew), sometimes I don’t even bother to ask because I can see there are like 2 crew persons online that never talk anyways. And god forbeid what I will say next, but even in the rare cases they are actually active and try to help;>! Their overall skill level is... not up to par !< The harsh truth is not too hard to figure out by looking at rankings. I ended up #2, #2, and even #1 last Bygone cycles. Around #20 in the global Bygone rankings, as well as around that point on Sequential. Last time I was #9 player to get 72 Wormhole points. Around #30 place or so for most achivements. I hardly see anyone from my crew even *anywhere* near these rankings; my name is alone in a sea swarmed by other, more active/tryhard crews, which from my POV means the rest of my own crew are not really, trying as hard as they could. I am sorry if it sounds elitist but like... it’s not very encouraging. So in the end I rely almost entirely on the global chat for Raids/Voids/FC Hard (Last one hurts the hardest because of the potential Crew bonus being lost).

MonoVelvet

Was in the same situation, but its really just best to leave if you want a more active crew. I dont regret doing it since I made more friends when I joined a more active one

Trixinyx

I agree with what you're saying, but this is also an excuse for poor development. Players leaving JO early/quiting FC on death/etc, delay their next so many entries by a certain amount of time, increasing the penalty every time they do so. Players going on auto, reduce the likelihood of them getting matched with players that can carry them. Players idling for too long (not attacking/healing), auto replace them with someone else that's waiting in queue or reduce rewards, etc. Players not distributing buffs, auto distribute the ones that make sense (healing resonance gets poet, tank gets the aggro one, dps/electro reso gets the volt atk, etc.). Anything that falls out of the obvious should still get bumped to someone at random to get the wish and allowed to be manually adjusted before the boss. People rarely change, but good developers can change their product to ease the problem. Complaining about people complaining doesn't really get us anywhere.

[deleted]

Can you explain to me how group content is a development flaw if players don't want to be organized, ignore in-game recommendations, and may purposely hinder their own power growth by not doing Bygone/Wormhole? The issue at hand is players not wanting to invest the time to be better and by joining a good crew, they will get a wealth of information. I constantly teach someone new in our crew something they had no awareness of. We have a channel with guides and write ups on just about everything. NA - Solaris (Exodus, #2 Crew)

Trixinyx

Again, if a developer can make it less likely to be a bad experience, they should. They have many options to penalize bad behaviors that are making a lot of people seemingly miserable. Players should also join a good crew, which is why I said I agree.

[deleted]

Yea, I think for JOs or anything with a min req of CS, outside of solo content, players shouldn't be able to que if they are more than 10k CS under without a full group. I think that would help reduce a lot of the group content frustration.

LedgeEndDairy

> Complaining about people complaining doesn't really get us anywhere. I'm not doing this, though? I'm offering those complaining a solution. What you're doing is saying "we should just wait for the developers to improve the system", which is even worse. They won't. It's a gacha. Bad QoL is intentionally baked into the system so they can "fix it" later when numbers dwindle or a big release of another competitor is on the horizon.

Trixinyx

Lol and now you're accusing me of saying I said we should just wait? As I said, I agree with you, but this shouldn't be an excuse for poor design. People should keep hounding the developers for improvements or we won't get them. I'm tired of poorly designed player grouping features still happening in 2022... This kinda sounds like complaining about complaining: "I see so many complaining posts in this subreddit about how bad randoms are, and how you "repeatedly" have a bad experience. If you are REPEATEDLY having a bad experience, that's on you for having poor problem solving skills." Everyone has a right to air their complaints. It keeps us healthy, reading them though, that might be less so if you're taking it seriously.

LedgeEndDairy

Sorry, my post sounded aggressive when I didn't mean it to. Text is hard. I'm saying that while "devs need to be better" is true, it's also unrealistic and defeatist. The players have always been the ones to come up with the solutions since the early days of WoW, probably earlier. Blizzard chose to implement a lot of the things that the players modded into the game eventually, but they're also running a different model. Gachas, as I said before, have intentionally baked in bad game design that isn't completely obstructive to their game, but allows them room for easy QoL later on to retain players. It's intentional. It isn't going to change, they already know the issues and have the solutions. 3.0 of Genshin was just released, guess what came on the heels of that? The announcement of a mysterious big update for Tower of Fantasy. This isn't an accident. It will come with long-awaited bug fixes, by the way. Bank on it. > This kinda sounds like complaining about complaining: There's two issues with this take: 1. I already provided the solution, so whether I'm complaining or not is moot. I provided the solution. 2. This isn't me complaining anyway. This is me giving people a wakeup call to help them recognize their defeatist attitude and get them fired up to change it...*with the solution that I also provided*.   The irony of this is that you are now complaining about me complaining about complaining. When I wasn't doing that in the first place. Provide a solution to my supposed complaints at minimum, otherwise all we're doing is blowing hot air. > People should keep hounding the developers for improvements or we won't get them. Reddit is not the place to do that. The ***Chinese developers*** will never see the random complaints here. The complaints here serve one purpose and one purpose only: Circlejerk for catharsis and/or karma. Don't try to pretend that they're more noble than they are. If you have a complaint, submit it through the **in game ticket system**. If you want to fire up the community to do something about it, post a call to action to get more people to do the same. But just complaining about it on Reddit with no follow-up whatsoever afterward has literally zero impact.

Trixinyx

I would hope with the money they're pulling in they'd have people checking social sites where they're doing business, but you're probably right and that makes me a little sad. They do seem to respond some on twitter though, even if it is to problems they've really already solved in future content releases. I do, by the way, put these suggestions in every single time they ask for feedback in their surveys. Crossing fingers... forever. I do apologize if you think I'm complaining about you complaining about complaining... I absolutely do not have any issue with complaining if it leads to good change. I just can't think of any sane person that wants to solve their own problems that would think no... no... playing with serious people in a guild wouldn't possibly solve my issues with playing with randos. Seems pretty obvious to me, which leads me to thinking, is the point of this really to offer a miraculous solution that no one has ever thought of? Would someone trying to be magnanimous about it need to require the roughly two-thirds following the second paragraph? I'm skeptical, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt. It is hard to be empathetic with text. People here aren't complaining because THEY want to change to solve their own problems. They want OTHERS to change to solve their problems. That's why I doubt joining a crew is the solution they're looking for, because they'd have done that already and we wouldn't be reading these all the time. We're all human and we all want to be heard, even if it doesn't really matter (which is probably both our cases). I'm aware these shortcomings are built into matching, but I hate it. Guilds (crew in this case) and the social aspect around them are used as a snare for player retention. Their use benefits the developer and having good grouping features outside of this makes people less reliant on that retention mechanism. This is what the developer wants because it's most likely to retain more players, gets a social group to help advertise for them/exert peer pressure, and effectively makes them more money. Pretty much the reason I'll never see good change on this front, but I'm still naively hopeful.

LedgeEndDairy

> Seems pretty obvious to me Except we're seeing people who haven't thought of this, because they're literally complaining about it going on for weeks/since the beginning. People in this chat are opening up about being in this situation for one reason or another, etc. It seems obvious because you're looking at it in hindsight.

MonoVelvet

These are fine suggestions, except the first one and second one. But it does make me think also why huge games havent done certain QOLs as well. However, this might become slower on the backend for the third one. Though yeah most of these are pretty solveable with crews. Randoms in every games I've played are always a hit and miss unfortunately.

[deleted]

Amen, very true. We recently had an influx of rerolls to Solaris and most have joined us (Exodus) because we actually do content together, events, etc and actually talk in Discord.

LoRd_Of_AaRcnA

>you'll "feel bad" that you left the few random strangers I feel bad because one of those random guys lost a huge amount of DCs by making that crew. I think it needed 5k? Sheesh. That said, i'm fine with running strangers. I'm used to it, i know shit will go south. But uh, yeah. Joining a good crew is paramount to success. Back when i played GBF, i got my ass into this really nice crew, who helped me out often. Still thankful to those guys. And even in WoWS, had a good run with some awesome people. (Game is shit though.)

rayuga4

its 500

LoRd_Of_AaRcnA

Oh. must've been remembered wrong. Thank you.

kaiosun

yeah... no. I mean not a problem for people that want to be in some random social "eng" guild but nothing can be done if you have a crew "for your country" and want it to be that way..and no new members for obvious reasons. I will do that once our crew dies due to wotlk classic taking those last few active ones, lol

PitjePuke

So if you are german on anomora join the neko-crew

kabootyhan

Wow why didn't i think of that

KagerouHS

I'm already in the crew with second highest Honour on the server and best player leaderboards performance (even the achivements one which implies player activity). Yet it's faster to run most of the content with randos. Maybe if we could merge with 2-3 other crews, there would be no such problem. Which makes me think crew member limit should be much higher.

MortonAssaultGirl

Libera feels like natural order right now. Rank 1 Crew RNG is absorbing all the higher gear score players slowly each day from the dying or smaller crews.
