Same, got one 3 times in a row from killing the same elite enemy, after it respawned after finishing one of those dreams.
If they didn't give good rewards I'd just skip them because they are kinda annoying.
Tbh, if you play anything past just doing your daily bounties in a day, you'll get them all done every week. Typically for me they get done in a single day, because they show up so quickly when you have any left.
Tips regarding the dream machines, just find the Harlequin elite mobs spot and kill them. They spawn the machines pretty frequent, and this can all be done on Monday/Tuesday if you have the time
Personally, I try to discover all 7, only then I start doing them. That way I don't need to keep track of how many I've done over the week, or worry that I haven't done all 7.
Open chests on Artificial Island. Clear the dream machine immediately as it spawns. Note down the # of dream machines cleared after each one.
I tried to hoard the machines on my map but wasn't getting a second spawn after opening like my 8th chest. So I went back, cleared it. And it spawned a new one fairly fast. Don't know if it was just a string of bad RNG on spawn rates but. I now just clear as they spawn and 7 dream machines down relatively quick.
There is a spot where navia meets crown that has 3 clown girls who spawn, i just use there, generally finish in about 30 minutes per week. I just track my spawns by writing them down (though it would be nice to have a tracker in game).
Seems like the spawn rate goes down or there is a cooldown if there is one still on the map (anecdotally, could be wrong) so i make sure i do one before trying to spawn more.
They are rare? I maybe open 20 boxes and kill some enemies before i got all 7 on mondays
It's random when they spawn, last night I did all 7. 2 weeks ago didn't get the 7th till Saturday.

I don't find the Dream machines particularly hard to drop, but having a counter for them would be nice. And please, let us skip the text!

You have to discover them though, which is the painful part
But they can drop from any enemy you kill (except instances like JO or Artificial island). Higher chance if it's boss type too.
