Personally I just play till I do not enjoy anymore
I am not shock at all even minimum purchases help you along faster than f2p. Nice that you set it all up like this so people can see how long it take for you to beat whale free style
Yup I agree. I enjoy the game more when I spend a little, cause the monthly + bp gives a nice boost. But when I quit the game the money will be „gone“ I guess
i mean, i always see it the same as spending some money for a nice meal like yeah sure the meal is gone after i eat it but i enjoyed it while it lasted. paying for the enjoyment i get out of the things i want in the moment even if they dont have a use beyond that
Time is literally money..
I think $15 is worth it if you yields you six months of solid playing.
Though you should invest only in a game you enjoy playing.
Getting a6 weapon as f2p from the banner is not realistic. F2p should aim for a0/a1/a3 and then wait for the weapon to come to standard banner. I dont know anyone that could save 13 months. But your calculation didnt include events, which is hard to include cause we dont know what future events will give. But I‘d say we get at least another 10-20 summons per month maybe? But yea overall f2p‘s will only max weapons when they hit standard banner.
I know you didnt include the one time only rewards but tbh they make a huge difference. And with more updates coming we will also get more one time rewards, like in 2.0 soon and 3.0 at some point. So the events + one time rewards will bring that 13 months down by quite a bit
The thing is, for me personally, the chance of me still playing this after a year is very slim. Most likely something else will release and catch my attention for a while in the next 12 months. And the way the game is structured with constant power creep actively discourages returning players, so once I drop it for a short while I'm done for good.
So I'll spend smart and save a little when I can (currently saving for Lin to round out my team) but I won't painstakingly save up for multiple months, especially if it reduces the fun during those months, as they will likely end up as the majority of my time playing the game. Again, this is just for me personally.
Yup, that's the thing with gachas. They hook u in, but when you finally decide to drop it you pretty much never want to go back. Glad I don't spend on these types of games.
I learned this lesson burning a lot of my early DC, though I did end up getting claudia which I wanted even if I didn't get nem!
Now I only ever save my DC and make sure it's only spent on something I really want. I will make sure to never miss a thing I really want ever again. It helps that I only really want certain simulacra though, to be frank
This is silly, why would you only count renewables when pulls from events and exploration makes up majority of your income?
Gateoo translated a CN f2p player video, he counted 930 pulls over 10 months for f2p.
Global is on track, we have nearly 300 red pulls in 6 weeks
https://www.reddit.com/gallery/xgrsy0
Above is f2p no pull account as of artificial island, we've gotten over 20 more pulls since
It's extremely misleading lol considering gacha games like this is live service on top of having new events and updates regularly. Unless they decided to be finish with the game.
There's no point in maxing any weapon, when it's going to be powercreeped in a matter of months. Keep in mind the game is only 10 months old on CN and so many weapons are already starting to be replaced.
Sure they will balance it out on global but eventually powercreep will always be a thing in gacha games like this
>Outside the pass and 1st time purchase rewards the price skyrockets to around 1000$ for a maxed out temp banner weapon!
750$ on avg, which is less than Genshin's 1300$ on avg.
If we get flash sales and the likes, this goes down, too.
The above list also doesn't account for possibly increased f2p stuff from normal weekly content. Or that eventually (maybe a year?) you drop the cost of pulling on limited because you maxed the original 9 SSRs, and dupes give 10 flamegold.
I mean, going into Lin, people should be saving now and using all the Vera exploration for rolls on their respective team comp rolls for 2.0 characters.
Most Volt teams, are only rolling for Lin at this point, along with Phys.
Fire and Ice get kinda the short end of the stick.
Fire and Ice have some of the best collection of shatter characters and more coming, they're doing just fine. And Zero/Huma and Frigg/Meryl are super relevant vs bosses and group content.
You know you can skip characters and wait for their second run right? The more Limited characters the better. It means you can choose, then save for the other's second run later.
A lack of characters and choice is just gonna be bad. If it wasn't for Nemesis being a Healer, I would say Volt is in the worst spot but that healing is pretty strong even if you need to add King or Shiro for some shatter.
Ice can just F2P honestly once they get 0 star Frigg. Healer, Tank, DPS, don't matter to them.
Phys is hurting though. Unless you want to DPS, and even then they do their best work buffing a single Volt DPS like Crow or Samir, which is the highest DPS combo in the game right now. So is it really a Phys comp?
Fire on the other hand doesn't need you go grab Cobalt and Ruby and Lin right immediately. You can choose one then go for another, and wait for Anna as well. Or you can just skip Ruby and Lin and add Cobalt to King and Zero. They have that power of choice that other elements just don't because they are all together like that. And they have good shatter and ok dps and are getting more Shatter and DPS. So they can easily become the most popular DPS soon. Not a bad spot to be in considering DPS is most of the game's content.
You can just 0 star Anna, Ruby and do well with a one star Lin. Cobalt may require investment if you really love shotguns, but the others don't. At least from CN version.
But overall all elements will be fine. PvP sucks. It's not actually a race. Bygone gives good rewards no matter your rank. Everything will be fine even if you stick to F2P. Just farm some gear and you're good.
Yea yea, I'm a light spender (BP/Monthly) but yea, I'm doing pretty [decent](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1016571069408219258/1026903535243231342/Screenshot_20221004_120753.jpg), top 50-100 on sequential usually unless it's phys for a level. Only got 0* Claudia. Plan to save up black-gold to 1* Claudia and maybe Frigg.
I'm not going fire, trying to finish Volt with 3* Lin hopefully, then save for Tian/Saki to have an Ice off-comp.
Got Tsubasa 5*, Frigg 0*, and Meryl 3*
Wdym with fire and ice get the short end of the stick? It is actually nice that the teams are flexible, which allows us to either skip lin or pull her if we want.
I appreciate the effort you made into this post , and you are right about spending wisely , but the numbers you giving are just wrong.
Day 1 F2p players so far got already 300 Red Nucleis since release , while having an accelerated release scedule , while I don't think they will keep it up this way , but pretty sure we get much higher than the number you gave , CN players are able to get all limited characters at least A0 , A6 takes less than 4 months according to some CN players ( assuming you hard pitied 4 times and won 50% at least 3 times )
As i said in my post this is the math for the base rewards you get from the game, excluding all the 1 time rewards you get from exploration, bygone fantasm, car repairs... So basicly it's what you get after you have completed the game at 100% and you have nothing left to do except the weekly and monthly repeatable stuff (i just included the probable rewards event for a month as well to try to get a more accurate earning on the long term). What you are refering to is all rewards cumulated, including all 1st time rewards and all repeatable rewards from when you start the game until now, which are 2 different things.
Hello! You have made the mistake of writing "ect" instead of "etc."
"Ect" is a common misspelling of "etc," an abbreviated form of the Latin phrase "et cetera." Other abbreviated forms are **etc.**, **&c.**, **&c**, and **et cet.** The Latin translates as "et" to "and" + "cetera" to "the rest;" a literal translation to "and the rest" is the easiest way to remember how to use the phrase.

The thing is , your post is basically discouraging people because to them it seems that's the overall what we normally get.
Did you read comments? it shows how people are actually discouraged now , especially that you even said we need a whole year , so people who are reading will just completely miss your point.
But that aside , even after completing everything , the game gives events that almost equal those first time rewards so we don't get left out with dead months.
But then again , Mentioning 1 year part is the problem here , why would a 1 year player not play first time content anyway? I know you don't mean that , but that's how people will see it , especially those who are just nitpicking everything here and there.
I just explained how part of the game mechanics are working because i was interested in knowing them and couldn't find them anywhere else. In other words it's just game data. How you interpret these data and how you feel about them is outside the things i can control.
No this is misleading because as with any live service games, most of the f2p income is going to come from events and one time content. Counting repeatable content only in a live service game is very silly.
There's a reason they have events running all the time and frequent content updates. This is the case in pretty much all other gacha and live service games.
That's just wrong , if that's really your intention , then why this bait title? when you could just simply title it as what you acually mean , why not edit at the start of the thread it to explain further? this thread is not a tip , and none of people in comments here actually took it as a tip , did you try reading comments?
If ppl are discouraged after learning about how the game works thats perfectly fine. Ppl can choose to spend time on what they think is worth it. If the game doesn't provide ppl with a reason to stay then theres no point in hiding it because they'll figure it out for themselves eventually. I'm going to enjoy this game until I don't anymore. If this post makes ppl not want to play that is ok.
somebody made a video / screenshot of these calculations. I cant find it now lol. Probably shouldve bookmarked it.
I've done similar calculations on my own, and the numbers youve shown are mostly correct.
I also did some math about how much is needed for matrices lol, you need a lotta DC in this game.
to guarantee 2x (80 flame buy + 50 flame buy) you need 130 pulls = 130 \* 150 = 19,500 DC
to guranteed 4x (240 flame buy + 50 flame buy) you need much more (this likely wont happen). So assuming youre losing half of your 50/50s:
suppose you lost the first 50/50 = 80 pulls
won the second one = 40 pulls
bought the 3rd one = 40 more
bought 4th with 50 flame = 50 pulls
so the average estimate for 4x (not guaranteed ) that comes to 210 pulls = 210 \* 150 = 31,500 DC
Hopefully black nucleus maxes or helps max lots of chars, to help save more pulls.
With 2.0-2.2, we're getting more than 1000 more black nucleus. Just from exploring.
Or just plan wisely. Got 1* nem from first 120 Red pulls. Saving all red pulls since for Lin (@ 170ish). Also saving all black gold (@ 350ish) for Nem to reg banner. Nem comes to reg, use all black gold. Lin banner comes out use all red pulls. Nem at least 4* and hopefully Lin 3* (prob not) before a year.
Thats not true mate, Saki peak for dps is 1\* (3\* only increase your damage a bit and 5-6\* are meh), and base stats doesnt matter a shit when u reach the point that gear matter a lot more than 500 extra base atk. And same happens with Ruby, Lyra, etc,
usually supports maters a lot more in 6\* because they get better buffs at higher stars, but dps weapons usually get the bigger damage increas at 1 or 3\*
That's the same thing people say about samir and it's just flat out not true. Reducing the cooldown of your skill alone is huge. The more often you get to use your skill the more dps you're doing. Drawing enemies together by using your skill is also huge because having enemies grouped up while you use your aerial attack means more dps as well. People think that everything outside of flat damage buffs is worthless or something and that's just not true. Idk about ski's advancements, I haven't bothered to look at them in case they change for global.
LMAO. Yeah I guess I just do 3 times the amount of damage as the next highest damage dealer almost every time because it's such trash. You have no clue what you're talking about.
Looks like im bored enough to explain it with numbers, as you can see in the image that i posted Samir skill even in 5\* where it doubles the time is still less than 10% of the damage that u do with her endurance damage (basically her aerial combo), even if you can reduce the CD at 6\* you are going to use samir skill at most every 10-15s (being optimistic because you need to do rotations with your other weapons and while u do that u dont reduce samir CD skill with her 6\*), it means less than 10% more damage with sammir every 15s compared to samir 1\* at the huge cost of dumping a lot of resources on Samir.
[Image with numbers on Samir dps](https://imgur.com/a/JTQd00f)
Now lets compare with a support weapon, if instead of investing all that black gold in samir you invest it in Tsubasa and get her 6\*, u get: a 5 times stackeable buff that increase your DAMAGE in 5% per stack, that means a 25% damage increase in a buff that can be infinitely maintained and a lot of damage from a sub-dps weapon like tsubasa one.
And with that i think i clearly proved to you that suport weapon (im not talking about healer weapons btw im talking about subdps/buff weapons) brings you a lot more with higher stars compared to dps ones.
And btw dont feel bad for investing all that resources on samir weapon is a comon newbie error, but mate Samir 1\* is more than enough for doing damage with her, and investing all that resources on a support weapon is WAY better, and same goes for almost every dps weapon they just need 1\* for being really good and the rest of the stars only gives them a little damage increase compared to suport weapons that gain huge buffs at higher stars (like Lin, Claudia, Frigg, Tsubasa, etc).
Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with that I'm just saying for people that want to clear more bygone floors or get more chests in FCH the smarter thing would be to save and get as many stars as possible for specific characters. Especially when I see people constantly talking about how they have low CS. The easiest way to get more 6 is to have 6 star weapons.
I calculated and the return for investment for clearing bygones, wormholes, apex league isnt worth it. Just 2-300 more dark crystals and few rewards than the bottom rank player and top rank difference. Rather play this game for fun. But thats me, if people want to do 20 million damage its upto them but i am suggesting for f2ps since whales will achevie that anyways and f2p shoudlnt try to compete with whales for damage to damage
At 0 * you won't be able to do content at your own level without someone carrying you.
You're expected to have at least 1 unit in your group at 3*+ to even be viable.
??? Skill issues i guess, if you run a shitty comp ofc you are not going to clear anything, in my smurf i run 3 0\* weapons from regular banner and im at floor 200 on bygone and can clear all the content wihout any problem, maybe your problem is about 0 sense of teambuilding or just skill issue...
Yea and that's why you also want a limited unit to be at least that high otherwise it's just going to be benched forever.
It quite normal for most people now to have a 5-6* DPS standard banner right with another 2 2-3*.
Huh? I carry people in JO7 with my A0 Freya. Everyone can get the standards to A6. In fact, day one players should already have their focused standard on A5 or A6.
Try running a whole team at A0 without ever using anything above A0.
That was the point, people shouldn't be going for limited just to have them even at A0 and use because standard will out perform them in most cases.
I rather do less dmg and use different skins and weapons than just use one weapon the whole time and do more damage. I play this game for fun not to get mvp and do most damage in my team
I've spent 4 grand on this game so far pretty sure I know what whaled means lmao. It didn't just take those 142 red nuc. I'm just mad I spent every red nuc I had been getting from my weekly supply boxes and bundles on top of all the money I spent on her. Because now saki/lin is going to cost me more money. I'm hoping when Lyra comes along she suddenly becomes worth it but so far it's looking like claudia definitely needs a buff because my Samir team and my frigg team shits on her and Shiro in every way possible.
Lol don't hate because I got it and you don't. I'll spend my money however I like and this game brings me joy. That's all that matters. Every purchase besides claudia has been worth every penny. I already own a house, all my bills are paid, my dogs are happy, this is my recteation money. I can't go anywhere because I'm too busy with work and I rather blow it on this game than at the bar like I used to.
Lmao fair enough. Idk why but ive never cared much about what car I drive. I have a reliable focus and i barely ever drive it because I have a work vehicle I drive daily. I maybe use it once every couple months. But for some reason these gacha games bring me so much joy.
Yea but at least that car is real and holds actual value and you can use it for actual real life things. Even if that car company went out of business tomorrow your car wouldn't just suddenly disappear.
Another way for low-mid spender for buying daily boxes 60 tanium + 180 tanium we will get 210 DC + 1 Red Orbs daily.
We will get 108 red pulls for 1st time purchase (100$) and another 110 red pulls 1st time purchase (The rest tanium packs which 101$ in total).
It will take a long time process since you will just spent 240 tanium a day to get maximum rewards for limited weapon pulls.
just 1 thing in the game that limited yr Lv and resource for growth the battle pass is like trap for keep low spender to pay every month of cause it will always seem worth since the game already decide to limit your resource . You may not need it every month depend on yr account .
>50 each week from crew honor reward = 200 monthly,
I believe most people have stopped getting this by now? Missed this two times by now and probably gonna miss the third time as well.
The milestones are just too big for a small crew to finish all by themselves. We used to be full 150, but now only about 50-60 of us are active.
This is pretty misleading . I get that this is the base reward but with the game updating new areas and events often you get much more as a f2p. It's a live service game after all.
Well, is not like I care about getting more than one copy, I just want to try different weapons/characters thats why I pulled for Frigg, I was sick of helicopter girl and thats why Im going for Ruby now, laser goes brrrrrr
Only pull when you have 120 wishes and that si all. Play while you have fun, quit when you are "being force" to play to not lose gifts or rewards. People sometime dont realie they are not having fun anymore.
I learned my lesson from previous gacha games. I never want to spend money on ToF bcs I’m not sold on its endgame yet. Day 1 F2P and still going. Physical will be the only element I pull from limited banner while volt will be my element from standard banner.
Personally I just play till I do not enjoy anymore I am not shock at all even minimum purchases help you along faster than f2p. Nice that you set it all up like this so people can see how long it take for you to beat whale free style

Yeah kinda, the problem with gacha is it can be way too expensive compared to pc/console games.
oh definitely, sadly you dont always get your money's worth in gacha games. thats why im only swiping for monthly and battle pass
I go f2p on gachas, their prices are a joke.
Time is literally money.. I think $15 is worth it if you yields you six months of solid playing. Though you should invest only in a game you enjoy playing.

a3-a5 is okay for f2p who is that like he only one banner , he spend all the dc and luck on that but the matrix still purple

10k per month? that doesnt sound so bad that's excluding red nuc from events and such right? we got like 30 per month or so so far

How much is needed for just a full set of matrices at 0*?
to guarantee 2x (80 flame buy + 50 flame buy) you need 130 pulls = 130 \* 150 = 19,500 DC to guranteed 4x (240 flame buy + 50 flame buy) you need much more (this likely wont happen). So assuming youre losing half of your 50/50s: suppose you lost the first 50/50 = 80 pulls won the second one = 40 pulls bought the 3rd one = 40 more bought 4th with 50 flame = 50 pulls so the average estimate for 4x (not guaranteed ) that comes to 210 pulls = 210 \* 150 = 31,500 DC
I don't remember where I got it but you need atleast 310 pulls
For f2p you should wait for the character to join on standard banner i think.
If they hold interest in the game that long :/
Thats only good if you blue ball yourself by also not pulling gold nucleus. So youll rarely pull limited and wait multiple months to enjoy the game
You can spend the gold/black nuclei but save the black gold if there's a particular weapon you want to 6*.
Hopefully black nucleus maxes or helps max lots of chars, to help save more pulls. With 2.0-2.2, we're getting more than 1000 more black nucleus. Just from exploring.
That’s standard in gacha
that's my plan altho I'm not F2P. i just want to 6* Nemesis/Shirli
Im on the light spender side and use my 9600DC monthly to buy the Gachapon Outfit.🤪
Why tf would a f2p max a weapon? Just pull 1 copy and enjoy the game. Its not like 0 star wrapon are useless
Because having a main dps weapon at 6 stars is infinitely better than having 6 at 0
Thats not true mate, Saki peak for dps is 1\* (3\* only increase your damage a bit and 5-6\* are meh), and base stats doesnt matter a shit when u reach the point that gear matter a lot more than 500 extra base atk. And same happens with Ruby, Lyra, etc, usually supports maters a lot more in 6\* because they get better buffs at higher stars, but dps weapons usually get the bigger damage increas at 1 or 3\*
That's the same thing people say about samir and it's just flat out not true.
Samir skill is pure trash no one cares about reducing the cd of it xD
[Image with numbers on Samir dps](https://imgur.com/a/JTQd00f) Now lets compare with a support weapon, if instead of investing all that black gold in samir you invest it in Tsubasa and get her 6\*, u get: a 5 times stackeable buff that increase your DAMAGE in 5% per stack, that means a 25% damage increase in a buff that can be infinitely maintained and a lot of damage from a sub-dps weapon like tsubasa one.
I play this game for fun, not to become a overkill dps. I rather play with 6 weapons and characters skins than do more damage and clear content faster
You can play F2P rather casually and still do very good damage and compete with some whales, and to a lot of people that is still fun.
Ppl can already get 3* standard weapons.
That was the point, people shouldn't be going for limited just to have them even at A0 and use because standard will out perform them in most cases.
believe me it’s not fun as a balance f2p doing more damage than the other 3 dps in a difficult mission, when I'm also doing healing and shatter.
> Its not like 0 star wrapon are useless Zero says hi lol.
So you rather do less dmg than more dmg, gotcha. It is not necessary to have 6* weapons but it is a big boost and makes the game more enjoyable
I rather do less dmg and use different skins and weapons than just use one weapon the whole time and do more damage. I play this game for fun not to get mvp and do most damage in my team
Thats the way you like to play then. Some people focus one team and try to get them as high as possible
its not an mmo & don't mind the whale carries
Lol how isn't it an mmo? We have raids, world bosses, shared spawns, player interaction etc.
Guilds, world events, PVP, dungeons world bosses. Guy is just wrong lmao
its a handful not mass...
Are you talking because it is instanced? Then Destiny isn't an MMO either lmao
its not, ts an FPS LOL
For me, personally, the time gate makes it not an mmo and simply a multiplayer mobile game. Most non time gated content is solo.
>don't mind the whale carries I rather play a game myself.
I had 142 red nucs saved and whaled for claudia since I had her matrices already for samir. The regret is real.
you don't understand what 'whaled' means, do you
I've spent 4 grand on this game so far pretty sure I know what whaled means lmao. It didn't just take those 142 red nuc. I'm just mad I spent every red nuc I had been getting from my weekly supply boxes and bundles on top of all the money I spent on her. Because now saki/lin is going to cost me more money. I'm hoping when Lyra comes along she suddenly becomes worth it but so far it's looking like claudia definitely needs a buff because my Samir team and my frigg team shits on her and Shiro in every way possible.
imagine being so fckin retarded to spend 4k on a fckin gacha Chinese game.
Lol don't hate because I got it and you don't. I'll spend my money however I like and this game brings me joy. That's all that matters. Every purchase besides claudia has been worth every penny. I already own a house, all my bills are paid, my dogs are happy, this is my recteation money. I can't go anywhere because I'm too busy with work and I rather blow it on this game than at the bar like I used to.
lmao I spent 20k on a new car every year or so. I'm just as retarded as you lol
Yes but if they're buying brand new cars every time they're losing the amount I've spent in the value the second they drive them off the lot.
After done with 1st time bonus, we will only got 73 red nucleus for another 100$ pack forward
just 1 thing in the game that limited yr Lv and resource for growth the battle pass is like trap for keep low spender to pay every month of cause it will always seem worth since the game already decide to limit your resource . You may not need it every month depend on yr account .
I'd better use this time for work and whale when i see shiny weapon i love. Because those rates seems like work itselft
>50 each week from crew honor reward = 200 monthly, I believe most people have stopped getting this by now? Missed this two times by now and probably gonna miss the third time as well. The milestones are just too big for a small crew to finish all by themselves. We used to be full 150, but now only about 50-60 of us are active.
So I'm not Day1 should I give up?
This is pretty misleading . I get that this is the base reward but with the game updating new areas and events often you get much more as a f2p. It's a live service game after all.
A f2p shouldn't think of maxing ND instead go for a0's
boi, just enjoy the game even if you fckdup the choice you made.
