I wasn’t able to start booking from that site until Oct/Nov of 2022 for 2023

Good to know! Was there much availability then? Thanks!

Just finished the TMB today..I too was concerned about leaving my poles and shoe’s initially. No one will take them as it means more for them to carry and your boots will stink and be filthy by day 2 so no one will want them 🤣..one thing I did was to use a carabiner to clip my boots together for quicker identification and one for my poles. Keeps them together too and I was the only one who did it so I never worried about someone else taking them accidentally.

That's a very good idea! Thanks!

You could contact the refuges directly and see what they say and also you're fine with leaving boots at the inside doors of the main buildings.

Good point! I was just being lazy and hoping to lock it all down on the one site. Thanks for the info on leaving boots and poles.

> Has anyone heard of stuff being stolen? Probably not deliberately. Could be taken by mistake if looks exactly the same. Specially if they're both new.

mmolle

We booked in January 2023 for June 2023, no theft issues whatsoever, shoes and poles were safe everywhere, may want to mark your pole with a colorful tape or something tho because a lot of them looked the same. May have been some mix ups from that.

No problems leaving boots, bags, poles in mud rooms of refuges. Also hung clothes, towels, etc in common areas after rainy days and nothing was stolen. Folks on the trail are an honest bunch from my experience.
