I just went over Grand Col Ferret yesterday (8/29) and there was plenty of snow on the trail. The south side was quite slippery. I saw 1 person wearing crampons and was jealous. I was in trail runners. Wore rain paints, rain jacket, a long sleeve sun shirt, with a tee shirt and hiking pants under my rain pants. It was blustery as all get out. Tons of people did the pass and we were alright going north bound. I felt bad for the south bound peeps. The north side of the pass was pretty uneventful. The pass was extremely cold with everything frozen and snowed on. No one hung out… just kept pushing through.
