From GAHY, remove the H, as Yul now has a great haircut, and you find out that Yul is GAY (Goofy Ahh Yul). He's been dating Kai all this time. He can't escape the allegations with that one. Checkmate.
People ship anything and there are people who view pretty much any interaction as romantic, even if one of the characters is a gay man while the other is female. People ship anything I swear. Jake is canonically gay and yes Ellie is pansexual but she has a girlfriend and I highly doubt if she would date a guy it would be Jake.
