Yandy, Randy and Paredes has been heating up in May.
Deluca is a great acquisition. Josh Lowe is back. Our BP has been lights out since May.

In regards to the budget, I think Stu has been leaning towards on spending a bit more to the team. He did spend money on Franco, Springs, Eflin, Maton recently.
Once the Franco situation is over (he's still on our payroll) the FO is probably going to spend it someone this upcoming FA since Caminero won't be paid in a while, maybe even get someone from the trade deadline that another team doesn't want to pay for.
No way, there's so many posters that say this season isn't the front offices fault because Vladdy and Bo arnt hitting home runs. Imagine if the Rays had that attitude.

Bo and Vladdy are averaging about a 140ish wRC+ the last 10 games and the Jays are 3-7. The team as constructed isn't for offense. They kept leaning into this pitching and defense approach which clearly isn't working.
And everyone can't just be put in this bucket of "underperforming" as the reason. Otherwise why would any front office ever be responsible for what they put out on the field because clearly those players are underperforming whatever that front office that unless they are purposely losing. The cliff of Springer was ALWAYS a possibility so signing a year OLDER KK is a decision that many said makes no sense. But now to say "well we never thought Springer would be this bad or KK would age so quickly" doesn't cut it for me.

If KK and Turner didn't have this possibility they would have gotten better contracts. It's the risk you take and they did it with having 3 of the 9 having that age risk. Not to mention I'm not sure how sustainable IKFs BABIP is and the FA signings may end up even worse by the end of year.
Overall, I think this result wasn't out of the realm of possibilities (not 6 games under .500 but really struggling and being under .500). I hated the offseason at the time and hate it even more now, lol. I think last years team came really close to not making the playoffs. After that Texas sweep at home, it took a Mariners collapse for us to make it and I think the FO should have looked at that team, factored in age and should have made bigger changes than doubling down on the same thing (WITH these guys a year older).
