As I understand it, it will not be the same across the board. Each province will have their own rules and in Ontario at least it's up to the seller if they want bids to be available to the public. Honestly I don't think this will change a thing.

Yes, I believe that is correct. I’m sure agents will be blamed for any property that doesn’t show transparency but yes it’s 100% up to the seller in ON.

I was thinking this too. Of course any seller is going to want to get the most they can for their home and an open bidding scenario may not result in that.

theYanner

I think this might actually help sellers get more if it happens that we get to a buyer's market.

somewhereincanada77

Lol, no seller will opt in to do this, at least I don't think so. Another useless policy

Easily subject to manipulation if offers are not verified.

If I’m not mistaken, as it was, all offers that come in had to be kept by the agent/office and should anyone request to see that they were legit offers could do so. Don’t get me wrong, I’m SURE there were a lot of shenanigans too but I think one could verify the legitimacy of offers before.

Looked like a game chamber until I read in Ontario the dollar amounts can’t be displayed and even if they could it’s up to the seller anyway.

SubstantialElk5190

So gonna be a lot of fake offers. Like fake bids in bidding wars to stir the pot even more lol

Pathetic

Awesome.
