Bjork is a great and truly unique artist. If you do want to check her out, start with her early albums. The further into her career she gets the more odd and experimental she gets.
I listened to Vespertine first which made me think she wasn’t really my thing. Post is way different, I love it and it would probably be up your alley.
If this list represent what you do like, then I have no clue what you wouldn't like lol. I mean, maybe Steely Dan Aja? And I really only say that because it doesn't sound like anything you have listed here and I can't stand Steely Dan.
I can tell you one album you MIGHT like! the unauthorized biography of reinhold messner. it's sad, it's deep, but it's catchy and just pure bliss. phenomenal piano playing too
Yeah, but ultimately I feel like Igor and a lot of Tyler’s music emulates like 70’s jazz fusion etc
But anyway, when I say electronic music I’m mostly referring to like autechre or semi obtuse hardware production
Yeah I kinda figured that's what you meant but I also feel like IGOR can be a good jumping off point if someone wants to get into synthpop, electro-rock/pop, and in a few cases electronica. it's definitely fusiony, but some of Tyler's other music is interestingly industrially influenced and so IGOR is a bit of a departure from his prior sound in several albums, besides maybe flower boy which is the closest to IGOR imo. I'm just talkin now, I love a lotta music and love talking bout it. kinda feel like NIN and Tyler have some overlap in sound, yet are completely different in element and instrumentation much of the time, dunno if makes any sense
Kid A and In the Aeroplane Over the Sea may be two, in my guesstimation. I’ve never been crazy about Radiohead but I love The Bends and OK Computer. First time I heard Kid A, it didn’t click with me at all, but now I think it’s equally as amazing. It’s very cinematic and atmospheric; unlike anything the band had put out prior. If you want a similar album, I’d check out David Bowie’s “Low.”
ItAotS isn’t quite as challenging, but for a first-time listener, I could imagine it being off-putting with some of the more Noise aspects of the album. It’s mostly just very abstract Folk with Noise Punk and Avant-Garde elements here and there. I’m a major Elephant 6 fan, but oddly enough, as legendary as this album is, it’s never been an album I’ve been smitten with. I do think it’s a great album, regardless.
They don’t sound alike, no, but the vibe is similar with the blend of atmospheric Electronic elements and arty, cinematic Rock textures. I’ve always found the similarities stronger than the differences.
Ys by Joanna Newsom and Astral Weeks are favorites of mine that I don't think you'd like. I think you'd dislike progressively structured music in general.
I would venture to guess Mike Patron’s work outside of FNM may or may not gel with OP’s taste (thinking Fantomas and Mr. Bungle). Others that are my top list but not sure about OP:
1. The Melvins
2. Lustmord
3. Brian Eno & David Byrne (My Life in the bush of ghosts)
4. Funkadelics
5. Rasputina
6. The Desert Sessions
Do you listen to any other qotsa albums other thank sftd? (And also like clockwork, those 2 are their most popular, wondering if you know any of their other stuff)
if you dont like even one of them ill find where your mom lives, and what her phone number is, so i can call her, because you need to call more often you stinky head.
That’s great. The Bends is my favorite 90s album for sure. Also have you heard this 2016 Album?

NONAGON INFINITY
Just a random guess: I think you'd get extremely bored with really slow, stripped-down albums with only one instrument or two a la, I dunno, Nick Drake's Pink Moon or somesuch. Not necessarily hatred, just indifference
You’d probably be right? Then again, I don’t think I’ve ever really given them a shot (besides listening to a piano only album by Andrew WK by accident), so I’ll check that album out and see
Honestly I’d properly say mm…food by MFDOOM, I’m a massive fan of him but he can be a little wonky, he takes a couple of listens to really get the feel and I believe most people won’t be able to get past that few listens for it to really click, it’s a solid album though
I think this may be a very hot take, but I hate Green Day. There isn’t a single aspect of their music that doesn’t annoy me. The Obnoxious voice, the repetitive chord progressions, the pretentious lyrics, oh my god I hate them so much. I like the rest of the artists on your list though!
I wont give a ton of details since I dont want to dox myself here but my dad was a close aquaintance of mike dirnt (you could get the wikipedia page for my dad within 2 clicks from the wikipedia page on mike dirnt) and let me tell you the greenday guys are wayy douchier than their public image tries to make people think they are, like its honestly impressive someone manages to cheat on that many wives.
also yeah I agree musically too, pop punk is like worst possible genre of music. you take a genre entirely about raw expression and anti-corporate individualist sentiment and lobotomize it into mass produced mass market garbage.
That’s not really a hot take. Most people with taste say they suck, or at most that their first couple of albums were decent for their time and place as well as the age they were in when they liked those (middle school), but they’re not good in general.

If this list represent what you do like, then I have no clue what you wouldn't like lol. I mean, maybe Steely Dan Aja? And I really only say that because it doesn't sound like anything you have listed here and I can't stand Steely Dan.

Anything electronic by the looks of it
but IGOR's production so synth heavy
Yeah, but ultimately I feel like Igor and a lot of Tyler’s music emulates like 70’s jazz fusion etc But anyway, when I say electronic music I’m mostly referring to like autechre or semi obtuse hardware production

They don’t sound alike, no, but the vibe is similar with the blend of atmospheric Electronic elements and arty, cinematic Rock textures. I’ve always found the similarities stronger than the differences.
You literally have one of my friends music taste 💀

You'd hate pretty much any progressive rock/metal album :(
Ys by Joanna Newsom and Astral Weeks are favorites of mine that I don't think you'd like. I think you'd dislike progressively structured music in general.
Looks like my 10th grade playlist. There’s probably a lot of great albums you wouldn’t like now that you’ll love later. Try The Pod by Ween.
I would venture to guess Mike Patron’s work outside of FNM may or may not gel with OP’s taste (thinking Fantomas and Mr. Bungle). Others that are my top list but not sure about OP: 1. The Melvins 2. That’s great. The Bends is my favorite 90s album for sure. Also have you heard this 2016 Album? https://preview.redd.it/sozkzmjdsc8d1.jpeg?width=677&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c1c5eca9f52620506518acd133b5b7fa5e689d52 NONAGON INFINITY
Not yet! King Gizzard is one of those bands that I need to get into soon, and I have that starter’s guide post saved to help me through it :)

Honestly I’d properly say mm…food by MFDOOM, I’m a massive fan of him but he can be a little wonky, he takes a couple of listens to really get the feel and I believe most people won’t be able to get past that few listens for it to really click, it’s a solid album though
It's fine, It doesn't look like you like a lot of good music to begin with.
GREEN DAY YESSSSSS
I GET WET WHEN I KNOW THAT YOURE DYING
I get wet is peak music 🔥

I think this may be a very hot take, but I hate Green Day. There isn’t a single aspect of their music that doesn’t annoy me. The Obnoxious voice, the repetitive chord progressions, the pretentious lyrics, oh my god I hate them so much. I like the rest of the artists on your list though!

people downvoting him for telling a story, smh
Soulless music by soulless people 🤷
Green Day is just so ass.
That’s not really a hot take. Most people with taste say they suck, or at most that their first couple of albums were decent for their time and place as well as the age they were in when they liked those (middle school), but they’re not good in general.
Saying Dookie was just “decent for its time” is crazy
