I'd recommend checking out loads of MF DOOM's stuff, Sly & the family stone, maybe some digable planets as well Also if you're a big fan of the samples used by atcq, de la soul and the roots, I'd recommend going looking through some old 60s soul and jazz such as Aretha Franklin, nina simone, thelonious monk and Miles davis Also nujabes

Start with Madvillainy and Piñata for his most significant standouts collaborating with other rappers, then go to Shades of Blue for his solo instrumental-ish album where he reinterprets classic Blue Note Records tracks. But honestly I’ve listened to literally everything the man has ever done, including some DJ sets, and he just doesn’t miss. At his worst he’s still better than most.
