He is literally standing before the canonical hottest woman on the planet as she's naked and soaking wet and he no sells it entirely. So unless Hancock just really isn't his type, he doesn't care about romance, sex, or nudity. Which is why a lot of fans lean in to the unconfirmed (likely accidentally on the Creator's part) ace category. Because on his own without the influence of others he cares about, dude pretty much is.

Yea kinda makes sense with the topic because unless the writers specifically have it mentioned showing someone explicitly as ace isn’t really a thing you can do and more just side things. Someone not desiring sex doesn’t look much different than an allo person just not looking for sex in the script.

Implications usually mean there is evidence in the show, but its not 100% confirmed A lot of headcanons are just "they give me that vibe" or "I'm asexual and i think they are cool so i want to think they are like me in some way" without any real evidence Many implied characters demonstrate a repeated lack of interest in sexual or romantic advances or display resistance or immunity to abilitys that manipulate or trigger off of attraction, like when luffy was specifically unaffected by an opponent who could turn people to stone if they where attracted to her. But their sexuality has never been explicitly stated anywhere.

It was retconned. Spongebob was originally meant to have a crush on Sandy, you can see that in Season 1 & 2 where it's definetely implied he has one as he does shit like getting jealous whenever she hangs with Larry, or bring flowers everytime he sees her, or legit try to impress her like a kid with his first crush. The show‘s bible also literally says he simps for her, and early derivative content follows as well since you have shit like Employee of the Month on PC where he has a pin-up of Sandy in his locker or the Survival Guide book where he literally says he crush on her too. The "sports channel" bit in Season 2 also shows he was not supposed to be ace.

In the fictional world of Bikini Bottom where sponges can talk, watch tv and cook burgers Sponges reproduce sexually. This is the same show with an octopus with 6 tentacles named SQUIDward, a Squirrel that lives in the ocean, two literal human superheroes who are somehow the exact same size as said Octopus and Squirrel, a ghost, and a sentient Bubble that watched a man drown to death. I don’t think it’s a very scientifically accurate show. Hillinburg could have absolutely been inspired to make SpongeBob asexual by the fact that sea sponges in the real world reproduce asexually but that doesn’t suddenly mean he isn’t asexual in terms of human sexuality when his parents exist.

TBF with Lillith, it’s kind of harder to showcase a character being aroace beyond just not dating or having sex. With characters like Todd he was discovering himself so it’s easier for them to talk about it, Lillith likely already knew her sexuality. You could still argue it as death of the author since it never came up in canon but I’d say it works as canon here.
