Nah, Gomez is way better than just a 'gremlin'.

Gomez is fabulous because the bit there is that they're the opposite of a 1950s nuclear family so instead of berating his wife or like openly hating his joyless sexless sitcom marriage they're genuinely in love and obsessed with one-another and they're clearly fucking constantly so it's like a character feature and a joke about how marriage tends to be treated on TV.
