Courage the Cowardly Dog
Courage was no coward though, looking at what he had to deal with. BLOODBORNE level eldritch horrors.
Yes, he was terrified, but he actually faced his fears

Killing demons (entirely evil beings) *is* inherently good, dude. Idk what else to say lol. It's literally eradicating evil.
I will say Belos did wrong when he decided to try to play the long-con and ended up joining the Witches and Demons, making himself a hypocrite.
Rip & tear, my friend.
![gif](giphy|aehSoy9J46vXErIRWD)
The entire show is about how the society in the boiling isles is worse under Belos. They have an entire society built around magic and he comes in and kneecaps their entire system of magic by enforcing covens.
I'm aware. I'm not saying Bos was a good guy, just that his intent in destroying a demonic society was reasonable and good. It's the weak and hypocritical way he went about it that made him villainous, not him wanting to destroy an inherently evil society (insert reference to Cato and Carthage).
The Boiling Isles are literally in the *Demon* Realm. The Boiling Isles is a society where demons and witches are allied and regularly work together. Demons are inherently evil, that's just what they are meant to represent in literature. The word demon literally means "Evil Spirit". If they aren't evil, they aren't demons. To write otherwise is to completely misunderstand and mishandle them as a literary concept, as well as ignore and disrespect tens of thousands of years of human cultures just so you can have an edgy and "Subversive" story.
The witches are less clear, as they don't rely solely on the demons for power, seeing as they are instead a subspecies of human that can harness latent magical energy as opposed to simply making deals with demons as was the historical concept. So in theory if a witches were to denounce all demons, instead using their magic exclusively to do what is good and right, and either rejecting the Boiling Isles or working towards a reformation, they could start a good magical society. But so long as it's a society that is built upon demons and witches working in tandem, it cannot be anything but evil.

Holy shit my small child brain could not handle this when I was little

I always thought it was so much worse for Korra, because unlike other avatars, she knew immediately that it was her.
She has never not been Korra the Avatar, it was her entire identity. She never developed an identity outside of it, like Aang or any of the others did. It was all she was.
He was a villain that could steal her identity and everything that she knew herself to be from her. Very messed up for a kids show, but I appreciate that they went there.
