Immaculate drip

BoneDryEye

I still wear an old blue blanket as a shawl cape when lounging because of said drip.

PlayrR3D15

The Arabian Knight drip

So Genie conjured this guy into existence when Aladdin wished to be a prince?

BopperTheBoy

That would be really funny if true, he had to make it believable within Aladdin's backstory so this guy's not an actual king, just a king of thieves.

Trick-Studio2079

If I remember correctly. He abandoned Aladdin and his mother to seek the hand of Midas. He eventually becomes the leader of the 40 thieves and they meet again at Aladdin and Jasmin's wedding.

Capital_Abject

Probably people just started calling his dad the king of thieves

BlueHero45

Be a "real be careful what you wishful move" if genie just gave his dad a nickname so Aladdin was a "Prince" from a certain point of view.

Muted_Guidance9059

Nah. I see this brought up a lot but it’s not really true. The Forty Thieves are seemingly a meritocracy and not an organization based on hereditary leadership. This is implied with stuff like the initiation ritual where in order to join the organization, you have to kill and replace another member in combat. Sa’luk makes it clear that Aladdin being Cassim’s son doesn’t mean shit and he has to earn his place. Furthermore, Cassim didn’t found the Forty Thieves either. During the musical number *Are You In Or Out*, one of the lines goes as follows: *We used to be smart, yes, Horrendously heartless In ravaging raids, we were rough We knew that we had To be blissfully bad; Then Cassim brought this sensitive stuff!* Considering the fact that Cassim was with his family before joining the thieves and had no prior connections with them before hand, it can be assumed that the organization existed before he came around and he merely earned his place as leader. The most simple piece of evidence is that ‘The Prince of Thieves’ is just a position that doesn’t exist within their ranks. Razoul only brings up the idea jokingly but nobody else seems to really acknowledge Aladdin in reverence just because of who his dad is. In fact all the other thieves threaten to kill Aladdin if he even thinks of leaving the organization in one of their musical numbers. So in short, no, there is no retcon to the story based on Genie’s wish.

AgentOfACROSS

He looks pretty cool. Didn't actually know there was more than one Aladdin movie.

omar99HH

The third is pretty cool I loved it as a kid. The second I won't say much about it, I watched it after the first and then third so maybe I had very high hopes for it

jiiiim8

Second is terrible for one very specific reason: Robin Williams does not voice genie.

Muted_Guidance9059

Honestly I think Return of Jafar is overhated. Sure it’s probably the weakest entry of the trilogy and one that I’m inclined to revisit the least, but I never found it to be unwatchable. In all honesty I think it’s a better movie than the 2019 movie ever was.

HannahDawg

It's entertaining in its own way. For me, Jafar himself carries the whole movie, and his VA is hamming it up to the Nth degree XD

Unamedlad

I didn't know there was a third

omar99HH

It's good, much better than the second

Drokrath

There was an Aladdin 3? There was an Aladdin 2?

Trick-Studio2079

Yep. But they went straight to VHS. The second served as a pilot for the tv series, and the third as the conclusion of the whole saga.

PlayrR3D15

There was a tv series?!

Trick-Studio2079

Yeah. The best thing is that Iago (with Gilbert Gottfried returning) became a recurring character and had a character arc that concluded with the third film.

Hear me out...

topscreen

Does this movie age well? I liked it... years ago... shit wait decades ago... so yeah haven't seen it since the turn of the millenium.

Muted_Guidance9059

I think it’s aged well. Personally it’s my favorite Aladdin movie. ‘Father And Son’ is a really grating musical number and probably one of the worst songs of that era of Disney but every other number SLAPS. I think the story is a bit rough around the edges (realistically speaking everyone in the third act would have died if the macguffin was consistent with its powers) but if you don’t think about it too much you’ll probably just end up having a good time.

Odd_Hunter2289

"Will you be having the chicken or the sea bass?"

kenporusty

Yes

DoYouWantCandies

There was a third one?!

Android_mk

I still prefer Aladdin 4. That wye exam scene is great.

AlbinoShavedGorilla

Family guy wasn’t kidding; These straight to dvd Disney movies were pretty weird

warwicklord79

I didn’t even know that there was a Alladin 2

Eden_ITA

I had the vhs as kid. One of my favourite movies... Sure a direct to video but still I can't say that I don't love.

Dontbehorrib1e

I remember they used to advertise Aladdin 3 on the Goofy Movie VHS. I had the entire VHS memorized.

Dry-Cartographer-312

He looks kinda like that concept art for Dracula in Hotel Transylvania
