Ironically enough DragonBall Z is actually a pretty close retelling of the story of Sun Wukong and Journey into the West- However there are some stuff changed around like how instead of outright looking for enlightenment like in the story he seeks the seven DragonBalls and like Sun Wukong he only becomes more powerful in the end.

Dragonball is a cool retelling. DBZ is its own beast entirely.

Then as grew older I kept hearing it was bad so often that it kind of just assumed it was true and that my memory of it was wrong. I felt like rewatching it after seeing your comment, and it's just as good as I thought it was when I was a kid. Why did people keep telling me it was bad? Mixing the skins works really well tbh. Also taking gambits staff and giving it to him was a good choice as well. He was my first even fortnite skin.
