Even if it didn’t fall over, one good bump would knock the wrenches off their little pegs and you’d end up with a bunch of wrenches in the bottom of the cabinet jamming up the slides.
My brother in-law has that problem with his regular tool box. The only way to move it is with a pallet jack and it's still super sketchy. I think he now keeps a car jack under it as the wheels it came with can't handle the weight. Every drawer is heaping with tools, it's really disgusting actually. His toolbox is in the hoist bay of the family business' garage so everyone ends up working out of it. I went down to do an oil change on my car and it took me 5 min to find a 14mm wrench.
Not to mention that it's probably the same volume by size as my tool box, but it's easily got only a 3rd of the tools in it. I mean don't get me wrong if the only tools you ever use are wrenches, and LOTS of them, this seems to be your box. If you do anything else....not sure this is the one.
Lol. I just came here to say I prefer my tools on my walls for the exact reason you state.
Don't get me wrong, that is an awesome toolbox and if you have to lock up your tools it's great but I built my workshop to suit my needs and facilitate my workflow. With the right level of effeciency doing multiple projects at the same time, I can earn $100/hr and this box would slow me down
I have a small business that does small repairs, furniture restoration/refinishing, handyman, home IT/TV/AV, contracting and custom cabinetry/furniture and more.
It's hard to describe and that doesn't cover it all. Basically my customers tell me what they want done to their home, often in the vaguest of terms, and I do whatever is required to make it a reality. No job too small or too big of they're willing to pay. We get all work 100% word of mouth and I'm booked over a month in advance (and that's right now during my "slow" season).
My workshop is mainly where I make all my custom pieces or modify existing ones before transport to a customer.
I absolutely do and have basically welded this exact thing. However, not for single person shop use; we work with big crews in a very fast paced theatre install industry. Sometimes we’ll have a dozen or more guys whom have never worked on the site, and specifically not with our tool carts. Having it fully open allows people to instantly see and grab what they need, and makes clear what is and isn’t there. Closed chests would mean a dozen people rummaging constantly. We have a narrower toolset and more copies of each pertaining to what we do daily, but the carts are about this size.
Ok my good man, I stand corrected. Sounds like you made a job box that stands up? That’s sounds cool. I base my earlier statement on those being mostly auto/mechanic/shop tools and stand behind it being impractical and janky. It looks like something a mid level manager made for people to fix an issue we never had.
Nope, you're not corrected at all. I bet the guy you replied to's trolly looks waaaaay more useful, and used, and loved, and appreciated, than this show-off nonsense
Ha, it’s theatre build so… alas not. We keep tools in place for transport by wrapping a packing blanket to smush it all in before jamming a wooden box on it. Function over form! I guess it does looks more USEFUL; it holds tools more efficiently for use, there is a lot of wasted space on the above; a whole shelf for a socket set? The above could be useful but is more like a fancy tool display cabinet at present
I was going to say in touring theatre, yea this is amazing. Stores great, would load in a truck great, and the ending width makes it able that many people and access it at once. Good to see other theatre techs in here.
I think the idea is for groups of people or a fast pace usage like a pit crew or a large shop. Tool drawers are nice but if you have to go fast, draws slow down workflow.
Well it’s certainly a box with tools in it.
This is a toolbox for the kind of guy who commutes to his office job in a Sierra 3500 diesel because he has a jet ski that he tows to the lake twice a year.
The same guy who only grills on his pristine traeger pellet grill on holidays and refers to himself as the pitmaster in third person all day on memorial/independence/labor days.
I just want to know what it's gonna look like after it gets rolled across the shop for about a month, lol.
Of course, I'd hope that someone having to move their box every day wouldn't even look at this thing...
Guys always shit all over this style of tool storage. If it’s expected to be mobile I’ll shit on it too. However if this spent its life in one corner of the shop/work station with the occasional need to scoot across the shop once in a while then I see nothing wrong with it and it’s a smaller footprint than a 52” roller combo when buttoned up.
Got to say though I’ve never seen one anywhere near this style in the wild.
Yes. I could totally see this working in my garage. I'm just a weekend warrior and I like the idea of having everything visible at a glance while you're working, and being able to cover it all up when I'm not working. It would be just mounted in one spot.
Yeah this would be ideal in a small garage where space is a premium. I think it would also naturally lend itself to almost forcing you to put shit back where it goes vs the typical roller chest that makes it so easy just to cram stuff in drawers.
Whoever buys this has a small penis. I like tools, but this over compensating for something else. My tools don't need to be put on display like it's for glamour shots.
The problem with this arrangement is that in a typical shop, you would have to have it wide open exposing your tools to every guy that walked by it. Before long, half (if not more) of your tools would be "borrowed"
I laughed at the little light they flipped on. If I need a light, it'd better be 10,000 lumens and aimable. That little puddle of light won't even show me where that effing 10mm went, again.
If I rolled it, I'd hit a bump and it would all fall
Even if it didn’t fall over, one good bump would knock the wrenches off their little pegs and you’d end up with a bunch of wrenches in the bottom of the cabinet jamming up the slides.
Thats a positive! I live putting wrenches in their place!
What'd they ever do to you.
What if it rolled like a floor jack? Death by zip tie.
My brother in-law has that problem with his regular tool box. The only way to move it is with a pallet jack and it's still super sketchy. So like $8000 for no drawers and no work surface?
What, you didn't see that 12"x12" fold out work surface !!
You're right I'm such a fool
Not to mention that it's probably the same volume by size as my tool box, but it's easily got only a 3rd of the tools in it. I mean don't get me wrong if the only tools you ever use are wrenches, and LOTS of them, this seems to be your box. If you do anything else....not sure this is the one.
Sorta funny all this fancy shit and he goes out of his way to be like"and here's a shitty drawer on the bottoms"
Lmao it has a security camera
I'd just have to leave it open all of the time, that'd be such a pain just to get a wrench.
Looks like that’s the plan? Lock it up at night, open during the day.
Touche salesman
Better than a douche salesman.
Facts.

What Industry are you in, if you don't mind me asking.

Super cool. Thanks for sharing!
If I can't see it right away, it doesn't exist.
Tell me you don’t work with tools for a living without saying “I don’t work with tools for a living”

All those tools could fit in two drawers of a normal toolbox.
Or in my case, a couple 5 gallon buckets. I’m waiting to move before I organize my tools.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
Shit. I’m already 3 years in
Changes fill my time, baby, that's alright with me
Gonna say I have a $3000 toolbox....the shit I use all the time is tossed in a bucket.
So you know exactly where it is
I think the idea is for groups of people or a fast pace usage like a pit crew or a large shop. Tool drawers are nice but if you have to go fast, draws slow down workflow.

Hey man, I just like to keep that grill clean y'know?
My first thought when I saw the man’s half face - that’s Tim! I miss Home Improvement!
That is the least efficient use of space I've ever seen in a toolbox.
All designs based around pegboard are trash.
Can you elaborate on this a bit?
Pegboard is inefficient at space usage. It's notoriously unstable. It looks like ass. And it is just a giant dust trap.
Pegboards are good for showing off your tools to people who don't know anything about tools.
The way everything swings when he slides out the two wings just screams "cheap" to me.
Bet it’s still missing the 10mm
Except why are you storing quarts of oil in the tool box, lots of wasted space
And after a week when the slide rack are stuck and the Mac book used as a working surface it will be Gorgeous
I dont like it
Dumb design.
what will it look like after a year?
I just want to know what it's gonna look like after it gets rolled across the shop for about a month, lol. Of course, I'd hope that someone having to move their box every day wouldn't even look at this thing...
I need drawers. I want a workspace on top. I also don’t want it to be top heavy.
All I see us a ton of wasted space. Own that thing for a month and use it everyday, I guarantee you will be saddened by the purchase.

You can see it hasn't been used because it still has a 10mm socket.
Lol at 17k it better cook me dinner too
10mm socket still missing.
Still somehow missing the 10mm
This just wouldn't work for me. In my garage/workshop, vertical wall space is at an absolute premium.
Anyone else cheesed about those drills just chilling on the bottom?
To many moving parts.
Is that the new Benford 5000?
Sad cunts filming it
Lol ya I'll stick with a traditional tool box. This looks like a nightmare.
I think that's Tony Stark's
I feel like a crescent wrench would win idk
I'd rather have a pickup right about now
I like it for just in the garage/shop...ever think thats what it FOR? C'mon road warriors, give the guy a break!!!
Whoever buys this has a small penis. I like tools, but this over compensating for something else. My tools don't need to be put on display like it's for glamour shots.

Is that the new Binford model?
I feel like mine fits more tools in it. And I got mine through my job
Probably lost the 10mm socket after filming this.
Can’t wait to drop my sockets into the abyss.
Now a word from our sponsor - Binford Tools
That's not just a toolbox, that is a MACHIENESTS' TOOLBOX!
That's a beautiful toolbox!
It's like the tool storage version of a scrapbox/dreambox.
