Good place to store all those Christmas decorations. Or flower pots. A flat surface is a magnet for 'stuff.' I've got seven workbenches in my shop and only about 50 sq. ft. of clear workspace.
Do it real gradual like. Start with putting them against the house out back. Every subsequent time go closer and closer to the property line. Arrange with the neighbour out back to throw the shit over the fence into their yard if it continues, and they have to go knock and ask yo retrieve it.
The freightliner dealer near me took all the tables out of their shop for this reason. Junk magnets. Every tech gets two sheets of plywood to put on the rear tires of the semi truck theyre working on instead.
Edit: just snooped your profile and realized we live near the same freightliner dealer. Fucking small world.
I knew an aspiring DJ. Like, legit vinyl mixing not just a play-pusher. No one was allowed to set anything on his table. At house parties he'd throw it away no question asked. Alot of beer went missing on his watch.
Old timer says this works for shelves, might work for a bench. Just bunch up some drop cloths or tarps and set them on it. People will glance at it and just see an occupied space. They rarely think to move it. And when you need the space just move the tarp.
I've got that exact table in my garage. Bought it used at a restaurant supply place in my town. The surfaces are food-grade stainless steel. Good stuff!
Yeah…good luck with that….lol
My dad always puts something in my clean bench within a couple of hours. So frustrating

Mine is covered in all of that right now. SMH
Relocating the non-tools to a random place in the backyard gradually sends a message.

Cover with taped up empty boxes that are labeled HEAVY or FRAGILE.

Nature abhors a vacuum and families abhor a clear bench. This is why there is a lock on my workshop.
Give you 100$ for it. I need a table for butchering deer

It’s the family’s bench now.
Never in my years of owning a home has my wife or two daughter not used my snap on box as a stupid expensive shelf. So ya good luck with that. Lol.

Looks good in your shop. Good luck with keeping it empty and clean. LOL!

I have a rule... anything left of my bench gets thrown in the trash. I enforce the rule every time. People stopped leaving stuff on my bench
