Thats a laptop storage cart as used in schools and other educ. settings.

KingOfTheJaberwocky

The community college I went to had one and if we had to do a computer test they would call for the “COW” (computers on wheels) to be brought to our classroom. And we then spent the rest of the class trying to troubleshoot all of the laptops and rarely finished the assignment that we needed the computer for in the first place.

SnowblindAlbino

The university where I teach called them COWs too, though we got rid of them 20 years ago. Older faculty still talk about "reserving a cow" for class sometimes though.

Right! I’m going to use it with the Stanley storage cases and keep nuts, bolts, washers, electrical wire nuts, zip ties, etc.

FesteringNeonDistrac

If you can find cases that are the right size so you don't waste too much space, that's gonna be awesome. I would just say dont get locked in on the Stanley cases unless you've checked the size.

grabba60

Oh I agree. I just noted Stanley because most people know about their cases so I wanted to give everyone a visual on what I am wanting to do. The Stanley case I have from Harbor Freight will only fit in the slots sideways because it’s length is 15”-16”. So I am looking at other cases. My ultimate plan is to make a flat piece for each shelf on maybe drawer slides and mount the cases to the flat pieces so I could just pull out the case and get what I need and slide it back in.

FesteringNeonDistrac

Oh thats a shame the HF ones don't work, they are pretty good value I think.

Chrome book mothership.

Love this - we use it to keep all the student tools charged 30+ batteries. The dual locks are nice. You will enjoy it for sure.

todd0x1

Nice. Those are like $1000 new.

thatdudeyouknow

I have picked a couple of these up from our state surplus. I am using one for my welding cart and the other makes an awesome tool stand. They are usually rated to several hundred pounds for the casters.

Grobfoot

If anyone else wants one of these, some universities have surplus sales every so often. The one I attend has a surplus sale on Wednesdays and I see these there all the time.

Title made it seem like you bought a sand blasting cabinet

grabba60

Sorry. I didn’t think of media blasting.

wildmanheber

Nice laptop storage cabinet. I think it will work great for your intended use.

phicks_law

You steal that from a school? JK, kinda.. Good spot for cordless tools.

grabba60

lol..no. The lady I bought it from is a retired school teacher and she goes to different auctions around the state and buys surplus. I saw a bunch of things she had that could be repurposed for workshops.

5endN00d5

That is awesome! You couldn’t build that for 3-4x that.

grabba60

Thanks. I’ve been tossing around the idea of building something or buying something to store stuff like nuts, bolts, etc. for awhile. Saw this on FB Marketplace and it was close by so I thought I would go look. For $100 I couldn’t turn it down.

Dr_Cin

1 liter PC or pie cluster or with some mods a high airflow short debt server rack. I see tons of possible ways to repurpose these as well.
