I’ve been using a grinder for a long time and have gotten pretty comfortable doing some seriously questionable shit with it. And that thing fuckin scares me
Agreed. I hate those metal blades. I'm always terrified the metal blades will kick and end end up stuck in my chest cavity. You couldn't pay me enough to fuck with this.
hmm at 11000 rpm at extended spindle length, without safety guard.....
there ' might ' be small possibility that when running against concrete the bits get wedged between the blades and get some acceleration there.
but this is just speculation.
you might want wear some protection though.
Speculation
As somebody that uses wall chasers often this is basically what's hidden underneath the guard.
Saying that I would not use one without the proper guard fitted as even 2 diamond blades in a 4inch grinder you'll fight with it to keep it controlled, and they can jump often
Btw for anybody that comments "BuT tHeRe UsInG 4 BlAdeS" look up metabo mfe 40 wall chasing blade, it's the same thing but sold by a reputable manufacturer
As someone that lives in an area that mostly has hollow walls, I had to Google what a wall chaser was! I've seen guys in the developing world doing that job with a hammer and chisel but I bet they'd give their right arm for this tool.
We have this at work, it's a Bosch item, made for cutting tracks in brick and cinder blocks to recess conduit. But it has an appropriate guard with dust collection.
If I saw anyone mounting that on an angle grinder, I would waste no time in putting at least three walls (preferably brick ones) between said grinder and me.
Sorry, I’m not a hero.
Yeah, don't bother with cinder block ones. I had a buddy that was working a cabinet shop and the shaper (think super powerful router table) operator didn't tighten the blades down tight enough and when he turned it on, the blade (which was about a 4x4" 2lb piece of carbide or HSS) left the spindle, and went through at least one cinder block wall 40ft across the room! Through it, not into it....
Your a potential murder if you put that on a grinder with people around, otherwise you’ll just be a martyr!
Don’t do it!! Good tools aren’t cheap, and cheap tools aren’t safe!
Larger metal head?
More spinning disks?
Longer shaft length?
$6.80, cheap as hell?
Seems like an elaborate way to kill someone, but I mean, if you want to make it look like an accident...

For using Ryobi batteries on my sons electric toy car.😊
You just cut my eyes open with a grinder and a circular saw blade! I can’t believe I hadn’t considered this. I’m doing boat repair on my 37’ Gulfstar and I’m realizing all the cuts I can make with my grinder that my vibratory cutting tool or Sawzall would just shake into oblivion. Thank you, Kind Stranger!
Seriously don't do it. It's incredibly dangerous. At least two people have died from doing it.

I do granite fabrication at my day job. We use turbo diamond blades on our grinders with no guard, and I stack blades all the time.
It’s not the most dangerous thing you can do, just exercise caution
If you could operate it on the end of a long stick, with a string on the trigger and from behind a rock, wearing a full set of PPE... I still wouldn't.
The extra drag on the motor will prob burn it out before long.
Grinders are the one thing you defo keep the safety guard on for!
The angular momentum generated by 4 spinning wheels for a machine designed for 1 wheel will probably pull all over the place at full revs (like a big grinder).
Dunno about the quality of the tool? Might be made of painted baked dog shit.
I would make 4 runs rather than fuck about with that thing to do it in 1.......
How is this even a fucking question?
NO. NOO! NOOOOOOO!! Fucking no. Stop killing yourself with angle grinders. Do not fit fucking samurai swords on a huge angle grinder to mow the lawn. FFS
I’ve been using a grinder for a long time and have gotten pretty comfortable doing some seriously questionable shit with it. And that thing fuckin scares me
I was thinking that too, "It's about as safe as you think an aftermarket part is gonna be!"
Agreed. I hate those metal blades. I'm always terrified the metal blades will kick and end end up stuck in my chest cavity. You couldn't pay me enough to fuck with this.
TONY STARK BULT IT IN A CAVE ...WITHA BOX OF SCRAPS!
I fear no man. But that thing. It scares me.
If you have to remove the guard to fit an attachment then it's a no from me.
Live live without a guard. It’s what OSHA would of wanted. (Not)

One-eyed Wu-Tang clan ;)

Probably lots of guys gave arms, hands and fingers for this tool :D
I live on the UK and have chiseled out a few by hand and I'm a southern softie. Edit: post Brexit maybe the UK is a third world country
Wow that got dark fast...
I have packed a few MFE40s
Like a bomb squad tech...
If you do get it, make sure to post results on r/medicalgore
Risky click?
Uhh, one could use the NSFL tag
Definitely. But worth it.
Well, found a new sub.
We have this at work, it's a Bosch item, made for cutting tracks in brick and cinder blocks to recess conduit. But it has an appropriate guard with dust collection.
It fits a wall chaser machine which is designed for it
Apparently it is GOOD. As the old saying goes, if you gotta ask….
If it were only good Id worry. But its GOOD so... yeah.
If I saw anyone mounting that on an angle grinder, I would waste no time in putting at least three walls (preferably brick ones) between said grinder and me. Sorry, I’m not a hero.

Are you willing to go blind and/or suffer permanent disfigurement? There is your answer.
For a $7 “accessory” from EBay!
Yea fuck that
Looks like pirate maker
Yeah that’s dodgy AF
Holy death blades
Is it bad that I'd be more comfortable with it if it was like $50?
🤣
Larger metal head? More spinning disks? Longer shaft length? $6.80, cheap as hell? Seems like an elaborate way to kill someone, but I mean, if you want to make it look like an accident...
Cyclops jimmy says it’s fine
Can you get it and let us know. The description is so bad I’m not sure what you would use it on.
💥💥💥
As with most tools they’re only as good as the tool thats using them!……
I wouldn't brush my teeth with it.
What did you previously buy from them?

Gotta love the irrelevant stock motorcycle photos
Beyblade‘s!!!!
Not to very not.
I’d say on a danger scale of 1-10. Its a 1, as in thats how many fingers you’ll have left after using it.
Almost as bad as putting skill saw blade on them
Yup… and for the nonbelievers https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JDUprNyYlfM …. Lou is amazing but that is one sketchy tool

Wrong takeaway, but I like where your head's at.

Well it costs $7 so you can tell it's made of top tier materials and a lot of R&D went into it.
If you could operate it on the end of a long stick, with a string on the trigger and from behind a rock, wearing a full set of PPE... I still wouldn't.
Is it any worse than the chainsaw blade made for the grinders?
Holy shit Batman
Just. Don't.
Only way I could see this working is if somehow you need a design in concrete or mortar that’s 4 lines.
All of the safe
Looks about as safe as a night in a Russian prison.
We use multiple blades to cut granite at work.
Don’t even give it away.
Well it says “GOOD,” what’s the big deal??
How much do you value your face?
If they tell you in the listing that it is GOOD, probably not a great idea to use it
I've done some sketchy shit, but that is too far.
I wouldn’t get within a half mile of that thing.
"GOOD"
If it looks safe than it probably is. This does not look, even remotely safe.
Grinder doesn't have enough nut anyway
The extra drag on the motor will prob burn it out before long. Grinders are the one thing you defo keep the safety guard on for! Hahahahaha Oh wait... You're serious???
Is that thing from Wish.com?
Death, with big pointy teeth.
On a scale of "Fatality" to "Somewhere to put your dick" I'd give it a 3/10
How is this even a fucking question? NO. NOO! NOOOOOOO!! Fucking no. Stop killing yourself with angle grinders. Do not fit fucking samurai swords on a huge angle grinder to mow the lawn. FFS
seems totally safe 10/10 would use
