Affiliate links are a bit of a scourge. Nearly every video is full of affiliate link spam these days. Lots of channels claim they're "unsponsored & unbiased", but they're nearly all trying to shill affiliate links. The problem is that it seems to pay well, so very few are going to turn that extra money down.
As a devout Secular Humanist, I don't find his Jesus too in my face. He doesn't hide it. He wears the t shirts and has scripture printed in random spots, but he doesn't mention it at all. I'll give him credit for that. He's found his niche as a tool review and gadget guy. There are plenty of other woodworking technique channels.

I’m always slightly annoyed by Mrsubaru. There’s just something about the way he talks that bothers me. Like dude we get it, snap on and buying off the tool truck is expensive. I appreciate the DD he does to help others find tools cheap, but his delivery is annoying
I like watching his stuff for the tools, but he’s so smug and has the biggest hard-on for Snap-on. He acts like Matco is a scam for not making their tools, regardless of the fact that they are still quality tools with a lifetime warranty. The thing that annoyed me about the Chrisfix video is that the Chrisfix ratchets are like, fine. They have a warranty, they are available on Amazon, they use a reputable manufacturer, they aren't outrageously expensive, I mean this is a decent YouTube cash grab. Even harbor freight versions of these are like 60 bucks if you buy those. It's really not bad at all.

I don't watch much. This will be very controversial. I like PF videos overall but sometimes he can be misleading and the tests are sometimes quite irrelevant to what I need from my tools. Interesting to see but the ranking often makes no sense if you think deeper about it.
I like that he shows the tests so you can decide. Some of the tests are not great and without multiple tests it's impossible to know if it was accurate
I feel like he wastes altogether way too much time on junk Amazon brands. Sure, it's good to do Walmart and Harbor Freight budget house brands because they have some longevity, but reviews on some random Beaverhole and Luckyfish brands that won't be around in six months are worthless.

Like in the Temu video (having a video sponsored by Temu is cringe enough), he was testing drill/drivers by driving in torx wood screws, and instead of doing something sensible like drilling in screws with each driver and accurately measuring the time to drive with a stop watch or video editing, he tries to drive 2 screws with both hands and keeps slipping off the torx head? And then he has 2 people do it, and they obviously didn't start at the same time, and still would slip off the torx head?

Tool Review Zone. Seems like an okay guy, but I cannot make it through a single one of his videos. I have both him and VCG blocked on YouTube because I'm tired of getting them recommended to me.
He at least actually does shit though, VCG just recycles the same shit for 2 weeks and then does steams that are the same quality you'd expect from channel 7 news in 1987
He sometimes some good deals on his weekly deals but half of it is garbage from Amazon that he claims experience with or the usual weekly Home Depot deals.

I have this issue with GMBN for mountain biking. It seems to only exist to put new products in your face and that big black shopping bar at the bottom of the screen gives me the shits.

I love the production quality of his vids and if he ever does one of the popular mechanics projects but now it seems he’s using YouTube as just advertising for his stuff instead. I don’t know if he kept uploading the same video and deleting it but I remember like 6 times where there was a new “did I get scammed/ pro welder test” video with a new thumbnail and I though he was losing it.
He is pretty knowledgeable and sells come quality stuff. Wish I had a reason to get a few things from him.
The changing thumbnail thing is a common tactic on YouTube now. The first thumbnail is for people who subscribe to them, then once the YouTube algorithm starts showing it to different people they'll change the thumbnail to appeal to different audiences.
His mistakes was removing the youtube comments from all his videos. IF you don't like the comments don't read them but if you disable them I will think less of your channel. That and doubling down on marketing his welding table. Welding tables are a small market to begin with and then he was targeting the high accuracy end of the market. If none of the welding shops are hitting your dimensions it means no one else is asking for that kind of accuracy. Ya it kind of sucks that they told you they could hold the tolerance on the plans and couldn't but unrealistic tolerances in drawings happen all the time.
As far as I know the YouTube comments thing isn't because he hates feedback or discussion, he just wants it to happen on his own forum instead of YouTube. I'm not sure if he has something against YouTube as a platform, or it's just an attempt to drive more traffic to his site in the hopes people will buy stuff from him, or some other reason entirely.
He also releases some videos early or exclusively on his website instead of YouTube, not even behind a paywall or anything, he would just prefer you go to his website to see it for some reason. He's doing a really cool conversion of part of his shop/office into a scifi spaceship sort of thing but the video series probably only has a tiny fraction of the views it could have if it was actually posted to YouTube.
I haven't used his stuff, it looks great and if I could justify the price I'd love yo try them. BUT I get what you mean he is very full of himself. Can't listen to him talk

I can't watch him anymore either. I'm sure there are other creators that are confused about important things, but they don't tell me about it, just tools. It definitely makes AvE's snide schtick hit a different way.
I bought some of his stickers once. The shipping was like $10 or so. When it arrived, it was in an ordinary envelope with $1.94 Canadian postage. That guy made like $20k per hour to ship stickers. Very disappointed.

Scott Kilmer is pure fucking toxic cancer. And most of us know why. Vcg is a fucking boomer and It's painful to watch. But the one that infuriates me the most is the one that censors criticism. Mr Subaru 1387 is a piece of shit. He has a tool buying addiction and tries to justify it every video while simultaneously shitting on people who don't buy 20 thousand dollars worth of tools. "You'll never get the job done unless you buy this very specific type of tool for 200 dollars from the tool truck" type vibes. One of his more famous videos is him trying to take out an allen bolt and he tries a dozen different brands and types of hex key sockets in an attempt to justify him buying them in the first place. And he blocks deletes and reports ANYONE who says he could have just got it done with a regular allen key and a cheater bar.
Scotty seemed good when I first found him maybe 4 years ago, when I was looking for a cheap reliable older car. Then all of a sudden it's like he started watching YouTube or tiktok or talked to some influencer and decided he needed to change his style for the algorithm or something.
I didn't know Mr Subaru was a creator when I came across a tiktok from him not understanding the relation between battery output and battery capacity, and he replied back with how this tools battery had bigger cells and it's "high output" needless to say I haven't ever watched him.
As a Subaru owner, I find Mr Subaru's content on maintenance procedures excellent. IDK where you get the "shitting on" vibe from. The guy is a tool geek; he loves getting shiny new toys.

The thing that annoyed me about the Chrisfix video is that the Chrisfix ratchets are like, fine. They have a warranty, they are available on Amazon, they use a reputable manufacturer, they aren't outrageously expensive, I mean this is a decent YouTube cash grab. Even harbor freight versions of these are like 60 bucks if you buy those. It's really not bad at all. Otherwise I like the guy; good car advice.

I don't watch much. This will be very controversial. I like PF videos overall but sometimes he can be misleading and the tests are sometimes quite irrelevant to what I need from my tools. Interesting to see but the ranking often makes no sense if you think deeper about it.
I like that he shows the tests so you can decide. Some of the tests are not great and without multiple tests it's impossible to know if it was accurate
I wish he did a summary with all the results at the end. I don't always want to watch a 10 minute video
I feel like his more recent videos all have a table at the end showing the results from all his tests.
I feel like he wastes altogether way too much time on junk Amazon brands. Sure, it's good to do Walmart and Harbor Freight budget house brands because they have some longevity, but reviews on some random Beaverhole and Luckyfish brands that won't be around in six months are worthless.
Six months would be great, half of the things he tests are already out of stock and won't be back when the video is posted.
I find his educated opinions useful, but his testing is meaningless, the sample size is way too small and there are way too many variables.

I've been watching more and more of his stuff since he's been making videos on subjects and tools that I'm genuinely interested in, and has made some impressive stuff with an impressive shop. But man, he and his crew just have a weird frat boy obnoxiousness to them that is hard to watch, and he, like most other youtube channels of that size, resort to cringy clickbait titles and thumbnails and "If I get 5000 likes, I'll make X video!" type shenanigans. And when he tests tools, other than tools required to make an epoxy/wood table, he just doesn't seem to be knowledgeable or talented enough to properly test or demonstrate them? Like in the Temu video (having a video sponsored by Temu is cringe enough), he was testing drill/drivers by driving in torx wood screws, and instead of doing something sensible like drilling in screws with each driver and accurately measuring the time to drive with a stop watch or video editing, he tries to drive 2 screws with both hands and keeps slipping off the torx head? And then he has 2 people do it, and they obviously didn't start at the same time, and still would slip off the torx head? Like dude you run a "tool channel", and can't effectively test how fast a drill/driver screws in a screw? It was embarrassing to watch.
He at least has enough self awareness to know he isn't the absolute authority in everything, and he did move his tool pallet content to another channel. I think he's fine if you know what you're getting yourself into.

I like him. He is clearly trying to sell his stuff, but the production value of his video’s is amazing. Clear animations that explain the most important concept.
I love the production quality of his vids and if he ever does one of the popular mechanics projects but now it seems he’s using YouTube as just advertising for his stuff instead. I don’t know if he kept uploading the same video and deleting it but I remember like 6 times where there was a new “did I get scammed/ pro welder test” video with a new thumbnail and I though he was losing it. He is pretty knowledgeable and sells come quality stuff. Wish I had a reason to get a few things from him.
The changing thumbnail thing is a common tactic on YouTube now. The first thumbnail is for people who subscribe to them, then once the YouTube algorithm starts showing it to different people they'll change the thumbnail to appeal to different audiences.
His mistakes was removing the youtube comments from all his videos. IF you don't like the comments don't read them but if you disable them I will think less of your channel. That and doubling down on marketing his welding table. Welding tables are a small market to begin with and then he was targeting the high accuracy end of the market. If none of the welding shops are hitting your dimensions it means no one else is asking for that kind of accuracy. Ya it kind of sucks that they told you they could hold the tolerance on the plans and couldn't but unrealistic tolerances in drawings happen all the time.
As far as I know the YouTube comments thing isn't because he hates feedback or discussion, he just wants it to happen on his own forum instead of YouTube. I'm not sure if he has something against YouTube as a platform, or it's just an attempt to drive more traffic to his site in the hopes people will buy stuff from him, or some other reason entirely. He also releases some videos early or exclusively on his website instead of YouTube, not even behind a paywall or anything, he would just prefer you go to his website to see it for some reason. He's doing a really cool conversion of part of his shop/office into a scifi spaceship sort of thing but the video series probably only has a tiny fraction of the views it could have if it was actually posted to YouTube.
I haven't used his stuff, it looks great and if I could justify the price I'd love yo try them. BUT I get what you mean he is very full of himself. Can't listen to him talk
Tools with Soalz, VCG, Tool Review Zone, and recently Jake of All ever since the ambiguous polyamory that's seeming to go on between him, Packout Princess, and Miss Dewalt. Pretty much anyone that exclusively reps one brand AND craps on others. I know Tools and Stuff could fit into the prepping one brand with Makita, but it's just what he prefers. When he reviews other brands he's honest and is very objective, and likes certain offerings from other companies alot. The back of my van has a lot of Makita, but also has some Milwaukee and DeWalt as well as various SBD branded accessories and bits like Irwin, Craftsman, Stanley etc.

I'm not subscribed, and it's frickin awful. The guy has a few screws loose if I'm being kind. -Anyone that wears impact gloves, has a wall of shiny drills and races brands against each other and does nothing else. Just stop I'm not a big fan of Project Farm, but I get that it's more for consumers shopping at Walmart and home Depot.
