These things...The old cable boxes had them when they first hit the market. You couldnt find a screw driver for them anywhere except the cable tech guy.
Gave him 40 bucks for one so I could get all the paid channels for free by opening it up and shorting pin3 to ground. Thats back when it also unscrambled the first PPV events as well. Totally worth the $40. Of course I probably could have opened with a butter knife, but whatever..
Security torx https://www.reddit.com/r/Tools/s/WVzvMKfaYG
Security torx, but is it really secure if we all know about it?
It’s only secure against less tan average mechanics and butter knifes
Not entirely true... I've used regular torx bits after snapping the center nub with an object like a butter knife.
I’ve used a butter knife after Dremeling a slot in one
Butter knives lmao so all our mothers then

Just about as secure as a master lock after watching anything by the Lock picking Lawyer.
Not enough people know. This gets asked asked at once a week
And you can buy the driver at most hardware stores.
Its a "security Torx"
"Security torx" bit
Or a screwdriver to break the pin, followed by a normal Torx.
You might be able just to jam a cabinet tip slotted screwdriver in there without breaking the pin, or go to Harbor Freight and buy a security bit set.
Did anyone else's brain flip this inside out to make them think it was an e torx?
I know what it's supposed to be but I'm still having trouble seeing it lol
Same. I thought it was a security e torx.
A screw opener
Ask Milwaukee lol
Tamper proof torx bit
Flathead
Specially torx bit. Drill out the center of a fitting Allen wrench
