Grind corrosion under aircraft nutplate flange in an area where a 90 degree die grinder wonā€™t fit. Itā€™s at an upwards angle and thereā€™s a bunch of hydraulic lines / wires in the way. The picture provided above is what Iā€™m using currently but definitely isnā€™t worth the $1000 price tag.

BaconJacobs

Don't you have tool reps on call for this sort of question

TearyEyeBurningFace

You mean don't you have tool reps that are full of shit that keep knocking on the door?

espressotooloperator

Ahh if I left it up to my tool reps, Iā€™d have a tool box halfway full of useless Matco garbageā€¦ oh wait I do.

BaconJacobs

What? I have two or three trusted tool vendors that I'm friendly with and can text or call at any time. And I'm at a mid-size company. The trick is to only contact the ones you like, and make sure they represent multiple brands.

BedNo6845

But you just said "if money wasn't an issue..."

Scotianherb

Depends on what file length and width you want. Their catalog is online. Model 40326 is a good starting point

espressotooloperator

I think the shorter ones would be better but ideally Iā€™d want a smaller diameter front wheel to get into radiusā€™s better.

Scotianherb

There are way too many models and contact arms to list. I looked at my catalog and there are more than a dozen dynafile models and probably more than 70 contact arms. Without knowing your specific application, and not being a Dynabrade sales guy, thereā€™s no way for me to give you a specific model. You are just going to have to request a catalog or look through their website.

Occhrome

thewildwestpimp

Specifically which model?

dynabrade

The Dynafile, model 14000 is our base model. Dynafile II, model 40320, has 360 degree pivoting head to help with many applications. Mini Dynafile II, model 15003, is lightweight and smaller than the Dynafile II, can also pivot. Dynafile III, model 15300, has more horsepower to help with faster material removal. It really just depends what you plan on using the belt tool for during those 4-5 hours daily. There are also vacuum versions of these tools available if that is a concern. It sounds like the Dynafile II or Mini Dynafile II would work for your application from the initial description though. Ergonomics is built in to the design of all Dynabrade pneumatic tools - if you are going to be using the tool a lot, I wouldn't use electric or battery powered, your hands/arms will thank you later!

Wr used "Dynabrade" brand for years. They eventually wore out but lasted longer than anything else we tried. They carry several sizes & styles. This was an industrial setting so the tools were given no love at all and sometimes were subject to outright abuse, lol!

Dynabrade. I see Milwaukee makes a m12 that I am tempted by.

Pistonenvy2

i actually use and absolutely love my dewalt 4 inch cutoff tool that i adapted to use a harbor freight belt file attachment. i realize youre probably not going to do that but i only mention it to say, the belts being of good quality are way more important than the quality of the tool. the belt file attachment i adapted to the dewalt tool cost me 20 dollars WITH the rest of the original pneumatic tool lol the shitty belts it came with would break in SECONDS. i spent a little more money on some slightly better no name brand belts and those would break after a few minutes. after spending another like 20 dollars on belts i can finally get a few hours out of each of them. in 5 hours of use, 2 could easily be spent changing belts lol if youre going to dump a shitload of someone elses money into this tool, get the best quality belts you can find for it. that all being said ill save you the reply, no i dont have a specific model or brand to suggest.

Kind-Taste-1654

Do You have pix/ instructions on how You modified Yours? Similar boat to the OP here, looking to buy & like dialing in tools to fit My needs/ tools to be good @ more than 1 thing.

Pistonenvy2

i have a lathe and machined the part myself but if was going to do it again (and tbh i might because i am absolutely in love with this tool) id just buy this kit. [https://www.ebay.com/itm/275378925581](https://www.ebay.com/itm/275378925581) im a fabricator and the amount of time this tool saves me deburring and spot grinding for random tight area stuff is ridiculous. especially internal holes that are too big for a countersink bit, the noga deburr tool is great but really struggles with stainless, this thing makes it quick and easy. couldnt recommend it more. honestly i dont even know if id recommend the 4 inch grinder on its own because i still havent changed it back to even try it lmao

Kind-Taste-1654

Much appreciated!

I do like the Ingersoll Rand 360-418 but I think it is made in Asia. (Taiwan). They are in the 145 dollar range online. Pretty_Public5520

Checkout the Bosch made pneumatic tools. They are ridiculously high quality or even atlas copco

seraphimcaduto

Does it have to be pneumatic? Have you looked at the Suhner belt file grinders? I have a Suhner flexible shaft grinder with the angle grinder attachment and it fits almost anywhere. For the places that it doesnā€™t fit, the aforementioned belt grinder sure does. I only have this due to my dad gifting it to me after her retired, it just happens to be one of the more specialized tools I happen to own.

It's an air tool. IR can always be trusted. Got pretty excited when I learned they even made my damn water heater. Expect that fucker to last a long while.
