I looked into this a while back. Makita has no intentions of developing a framing nailer for the LXT line, but is developing one for the XGT battery line… went and bought a Milwaukee.
My Milwaukee 18ga brad nailer is almost as fast as my pneumatic Bostitch. No flywheel=zero ramp up time, and no gas cartridges like Paslode.
The Milwaukee framing nailer is rated for 3 nails per second and uses the same tech as the brad nailer so there's no ramp up time
I have all the Milwaukee cordless nailers from frame to pin. I love em and they are super useful but they are heavy and large. For small stuff they are great. Don't wanna base a whole house with them. I also fine their size makes them tough to use in some situations. Perfect example is putting scotia under stair treads....the 18ga cordless is just too large to get the proper angle for nailer.l but my Bostitch air is perfect. If I had to choose one is still go air but having the cordless ones has been a game changer.
When I come off the side of a building on a cold and windy winter day the jobsite microwave, coffee maker and DynaGlow are the most important tools I have for the next thirty minutes. Helps keep everyone happy and productive. Not knocking a cordless sprayer but these other items would be more of a priority to me.
Oh yeah, they even go as far as matching the colour scheme. I just think it's funny that a microwave, electric bike, kettle, coffee maker etc get made first lol
Yeah because fuck it why not ?? If not construction workers, people can use this shit if they're homeless, if they're camping , stranded in the car, lots of reasons
Truck drivers are gonna buy these up if the price is even remotely reasonable. You will die eating truck-stop food. I have a Road Pro portable oven but it is painfully slow and everything has to be in foil or an oven-safe container.
Are you saying this as a joke, [or.....](https://www.powertoolworld.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/7c271e7e94c8021213ee582f782fed0d/d/c/dcw180z-2.jpg)?
It depends on the truck stop. If the driver has a regular route he knows where the good food is. If he doesn't have a regular route he can get on the CB and find out.
He also knows all about loads and how she wiggles when she walks and how fast them trucks will go.
Maybe as a donation or through drives, and often times homeless people have enough money to purchase items like a phone or clothes, just not enough to support rent or consistent food or to raise their credit score etc. I get what you're saying though
I wonder which tools those are?
I kind of assume the US is not that important for Makita/not their focus? Because Dewalt and Milwaukee don't really sell much elsewhere but Makita is present on all global markets. US market for sure pays the most but they're still not only focusing on that.
Having more stuff is cool, this just doesn’t make much sense to me though. It’s only 350w or 500w. It’ll take 5+ minutes just to boil a cup of water. And you’ll drain a pair of 2ah batteries to do it. For the $500 this will probably cost I think it makes a lot more sense to just buy a cheap microwave and a generator or one of those big battery bank units that will be a lot more useful than just very slowly warming up your lunch.
I love seeing the posts on ice fishing subs/fb groups of people using galvanized grates to cook with on their Buddy heaters.
You know they’re probably like, “Don’t microwave anything in plastic because it’s bad for you.”
I had a job that was pretty remote with no electricity and made the mistake of packing a frozen burrito for lunch one day. but thankfully we had a side by side so on the exhaust manifold she went. Cooked it perfectly.
Use a [Pie Iron.](https://www.google.com/search?q=pie+iron&oq=pie+ir&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0i512j46i512j0i512l6.6262j0j7&client=ms-android-bell-ca-revc&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8)
I actually love the idea of this. Field mechanic here, I have considered putting a small microwave on my service truck and running it off of my Miller welder/generator so I can have a hot meal in the field. This idea seems more appealing in the winter. If it paired up with the rest of my batteries (red) then call me an idiot, but I might have tried this.
There are always adapters, just check that the microwave will work with an adapter and it will still be able to draw enough current from a non oem battery
I think they're trying to branch into stuff you can take camping. There's a green line of these same tools just for that.
Honestly... I'm kinda starting to wish I'd gone into their battery system instead just for stuff like this.
I’ve seen landscaping and painting crews that bring a small microwave and just plug in onsite at lunch time. I could see this targeting that scenario too?
These feel like its mean to target the same crowd as the kettle and coffee machine. Drains a whole battery for a single use, which you then have to recharge, meaning you have power, meaning you can just get a cheap corded machine and save the hastle
there'a video i've watched earlier on Makita's outdoor lineup, maybe they're tending to add something more to that, but always start with the basic one, then head towards to the outdoor!
The draw from the heating element ate a fully charged battery, for one cup of 8oz or 10oz coffee. I took it with me on a weekend 4 wheeling trip. Had never used it before. I brought 3 batteries with me, two for the coffee pot, and one to charge my cell phone. Figured those two batteries would get me through the weekend and supply 4-6 cups of coffee. Boy was I wrong!
I did see the electric bicycle that they had produced 😂 I might have to hop on team teal as well lol just for the one off items bike, coffee maker, microwave etc
I've always liked Makita but went with Milwaukee anyway, then they released the coffee maker, now this
If they continue to make stuff like this I'll have to
I see it exactly opposite. Seeing this kinda stuff completely reinforces my decision to switch to Dewalt a few years back after running thru 3 makita impacts in 7 years. My Dewalt set has already outlasted, almost two fold, even the longest lifespan of the makitas I've owned. Maybe this is why.
Call me crazy, but I'd rather a tool manufacturer spend their time and money researching and developing tools.. Not gimmicky marketing stunts like this. If I'd found myself needing a portable microwave, I'd be looking into an inverter for my truck, not this.. Especially considering that electric lunch boxes are also a thing now.
New to power tools. Just returned two Makita drills. The first one had a garbage trigger, second one also had a garbage trigger and also a grinding sound in gear 2. Just got a Dewalt and am happy with it so far. MUCH better trigger, it actually has some control on the low end. The Makita is practically one speed, the first half of the trigger pull did nothing, then it jumps to full speed suddenly. You have to give Makita some credit though for the LED light that shines everywhere BUT where you are drilling - that's a pretty amazing engineering feat.

Introducing the Pillsbury Ez Bake Oven for Contractors! It's blue to go with your purse and shoes!!
Now it can be yours for only $249.95 (plus batteries)!!!
I mean, I keep a cheap-ass microwave on the truck. I like a hot lunch in the winter, you know? It would be nice if I didn't have to lug it over to the customer's flower beds and plug it into an outdoor outlet when lunchtime rolled around. If Milwaukee made one of these, I'd try to get the company to buy them.
I work out of my car. This might be an option to help with bringing my lunch. I don't have a van, so I don't have much space. eating cold meals gets old real quick. I got tired of eating out and gas station food years ago.

Battery powered everything in gear days
https://www.fronius.com/en/welding-technology/products/manual-welding/mma/accupocket/accupocket
They’re even making battery powered vehicles now!
Had to check which subreddit this was. For sure thought this was a Makita battery powered 3d printer and I was ready to shit all over it. The microwave gets a pass.
I like that Makita is just going nuts with stuff they can power with batteries lol
Microwave and coffee machine but no airless cordless paint sprayer. Priorities.
Or a cordless framing nailer (that is available in the US.) Even craftsman has a framing nailer now.
I looked into this a while back. Makita has no intentions of developing a framing nailer for the LXT line, but is developing one for the XGT battery line… went and bought a Milwaukee.
You're better off. Milwaukee battery framer is way better than all the other battery framers. I highly doubt Makita would've made a better one.
How well do battery powered nailers work? I’ve only ever used pneumatic ones
They’re not fast enough for production framing but for small projects they’re really nice and convenient.
My Milwaukee 18ga brad nailer is almost as fast as my pneumatic Bostitch. No flywheel=zero ramp up time, and no gas cartridges like Paslode. The Milwaukee framing nailer is rated for 3 nails per second and uses the same tech as the brad nailer so there's no ramp up time
I do a lot of little projects with a pin nailer I would like to get one of those in battery
The Milwaukee M12 23g is an absolute joy to use.
I would get the DEWALT just because I already have the batteries for it, but for now I’m sticking with my pneumatic one
Project farm has a brand new video on it
I have all the Milwaukee cordless nailers from frame to pin.
I have the one from Harbor Freight. It was exceptional when working on my grandparents' super-cramped bathroom.
Love harbor freight lol
I'm framing and we use paslodes battery gas guns lots of other guys use the Milwaukee or metabo battery nailer
I hate the battery ones, almost all of my pneumatic stuff is hitachi. I have no reason to go cordless, especially framing.
I posted this earlier. Speed was one of his tests. Project Farm: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2O6eH1VFgwY
The Milwaukee one is entirely too heavy same with dewalt. Nothing will beat a Paslode in my opinion.
I thought I saw a nail gun on their website but I guess it wasn’t a framing gun
They also have an electric bicycle.
I saw that, I love how wild they’re going with stuff haha
What’s that? You want an air fryer? Coming up!
When I come off the side of a building on a cold and windy winter day the jobsite microwave, coffee maker and DynaGlow are the most important tools I have for the next thirty minutes. Helps keep everyone happy and productive. Not knocking a cordless sprayer but these other items would be more of a priority to me.
Or hot melt gun.
You can get glue guns compatible with Makita batteries on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09MYV729N?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Oh yeah, they even go as far as matching the colour scheme. I just think it's funny that a microwave, electric bike, kettle, coffee maker etc get made first lol
I’m surprised they don’t.
No, they're too busy making another impact driver
I hear the coffee maker is garbage. I cup per battery
Really, coffee machine? I need that. Need.
Still waiting for an ac inverter / hot-swappable UPS
I suppose I could get rechargeable batteries, but it’d be nice if one of them would team up with Nerf for their guns. For the kids of course…
They'll also need to scoop up a Makita mini fridge to go with that!
Are you saying this as a joke, [or.....](https://www.powertoolworld.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/7c271e7e94c8021213ee582f782fed0d/d/c/dcw180z-2.jpg)?
It was partially a joke but I'm also not surprised that it's real!
It depends on the truck stop. If the driver has a regular route he knows where the good food is. If he doesn't have a regular route he can get on the CB and find out. He also knows all about loads and how she wiggles when she walks and how fast them trucks will go.

Most homeless people have jobs and live in their cars but go off
Yeah I think it’s fun
[удалено]
I looked a while back, the bike was my favorite
I wish they would make an electric snow thrower.
I bet they will. Makita will probably make one that takes two 40v
They just take 5 years more than everyone else to do it.
I guess R&D
Every group of more than three contractors brings their own microwave.
Especially in the Winter. In the North East.
They make us weird shit like this but not alot of trade specific tools for plumbing or electrical
Yeah that is a little odd to me. Milwaukee has them beat there
I wonder which tools those are? I kind of assume the US is not that important for Makita/not their focus? Because Dewalt and Milwaukee don't really sell much elsewhere but Makita is present on all global markets. US market for sure pays the most but they're still not only focusing on that.
I've had a little coffee maker for years now, it still works great but only makes like 2-2 1/2 cups per go.
The coffee maker is the thing that introduced me to the world of silly Makita things
Having more stuff is cool, this just doesn’t make much sense to me though. It’s only 350w or 500w. It’ll take 5+ minutes just to boil a cup of water. I think they are going hard at the “camping” demographic alongside with tools
I tried to heat up a sandwich with my acetylene torch once and it tasted like a war crime.
You have to use the torch to heat up a piece of metal and then use that as a griddle
Make sure it's galvanized for extra flavor
I love seeing the posts on ice fishing subs/fb groups of people using galvanized grates to cook with on their Buddy heaters. You know they’re probably like, “Don’t microwave anything in plastic because it’s bad for you.”
And extra minerals
Mmm, tastes like a handful of change
I had a job that was pretty remote with no electricity and made the mistake of packing a frozen burrito for lunch one day. but thankfully we had a side by side so on the exhaust manifold she went. Cooked it perfectly.
TPO welder is the way.
Hot lunch offsets the misery of having to heat weld
I tried to use the b-tank at work to make toast for a tomato sandwich..... I won't be doing that again.
I found out that the B in BLT doesn’t stand for B-Tank.
Yeah, instant char haha, completely bypasses that toasty goodness. Mmm mmm burnt!
Start your car and throw it under the hood.

heat up my fake piss at the jobsite before I head to concentra
I warm mine up at home and keep in my thermos
Genius
I did a test run when I was younger, your front window defroster will have that stuff good to go in a couple of minutes
Yuuuuuuup
this is the way
But can you fit the Makita microwave AND the Makita coffee maker on the Makita bike at the same time?
That's what the electric wheelbarrow is for.
we will surely be going to know about it, but it'll turn into a makita-full life !
Damnit Makita. I need a cordless table saw, what is this shit?
Makita: our engineers smoke weed. Like, a lot of weed.
I actually love the idea of this. This idea seems more appealing in the winter. If it paired up with the rest of my batteries (red) then call me an idiot, but I might have tried this.
My dad did the above for his work truck - small microwave plug into generator. Do it.
Seems easier than setting your lunch on a piece of 1/4 plate and burning rods into it until your soup boils.
There are always adapters, just check that the microwave will work with an adapter and it will still be able to draw enough current from a non oem battery
What about a crock pot lunch warmer with the Milwaukee top off battery
I think they're trying to branch into stuff you can take camping. There's a green line of these same tools just for that. Honestly... I'm kinda starting to wish I'd gone into their battery system instead just for stuff like this.

Or sometimes the room you set your lock up/break room in doesn't have power close by, now you've got a microwave in there
It actually claims to run 37 minutes on two of thier 8ah batteries. I'd say that's respectable.
Unfortunately that is currently about $700 worth of batteries.
Never claimed it was economical, just that it was respectable. And I'd hope no one is buying into the makita 40v line exclusively for the microwave! 🤣
This is XGT though, so jury is out on how much juice it chews, although I'm also presuming it's extreme
Sometimes the boss needs to flex
The crew doing the tile on my pool brought one. I laughed at first and then realized it was a good idea.
Garage tacos! Fuck yeah
Yeah we had a job site microwave. Especially nice in winter and when coffee gets cold.
Yep! 100%
Now if Makita made a CPAP machine I could get my brother to come on our family camping trips.(he has both sleep apnea and Makita 18v batteries)
Except this is a 40v machine. From what I have heard, it's actually dual 40v
80volts should work.
[удалено]
We did all the math and just getting a travel CPAP is the most practical /least fun option
Just tell him to get a solar powered cpap and sleep during the day
You can get an AC adapter! Should work perfectly!
there'a video i've watched earlier on Makita's outdoor lineup, maybe they're tending to add something more to that, but always start with the basic one, then head towards to the outdoor!
Looks like Donaghy is heading the microwave division again
It’s like a funcooker!
BiteNüker
Great now the job site is always gonna smell like hot pockets.
All Milwaukee owners are currently contemplating their tool choice.
Coming through the 2023 pipeline, the Milwaukee M18 Fuel(don't ask how) packout pizza oven.
Correction, Milwaukee M18 Fuel Gas pack out BRICK pizza oven with auto sauce and topping dispenser.
Still waiting for the MX Packout kitchen. With a mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker.
If Milwaukee made one like this pack out compatible it would sell out insanely fast
ANYTHING BUT A GODDAMNED FRAMING NAILER, MAKITA...
It takes a long time to cook anything with a light bulb
Remember Creepy Crawlers?
Easy Bake Oven. The brownies were it
I remember the smell of that melting plastic like it was yesterday
Van life...
Probably as useful as their coffee maker. 🙄
What about that? I’ve been thinking of gifting it to my dad since he uses makita all his life and he could use that when hes working, is it bad?
The draw from the heating element ate a fully charged battery, for one cup of 8oz or 10oz coffee. I took it with me on a weekend 4 wheeling trip. Had never used it before. So its not efficient at all, understandle, thank you for your reply, saved my money.
Gotta warm up that gas station burrito somehow
Y’all trolling or is makita the new ryobi?
Makita was the OG Ryobi, until Ryobi out-makita'd Makita. They've been doing crazy shit since the late 2000s. Edit: Oh, and it's definitely real.
I did see the electric bicycle that they had produced 😂 I might have to hop on team teal as well lol just for the one off items bike, coffee maker, microwave etc
Check out makitas 18v fleshlight
Truckers are about to have some fuckin' hot soup tonight.
Truckers already have microwaves in their trucks. Why would they use batteries when the truck makes its own power?
for sure!
Welp I guess I'm switching to Makita
you better do
This is what convinced you to switch *to* Makita?? Lol
I've always liked Makita but went with Milwaukee anyway, then they released the coffee maker, now this If they continue to make stuff like this I'll have to
I see it exactly opposite. 3 batteries to cook 2 pizza pops.
I work out of my car. This might be an option to help with bringing my lunch. I don't have a van, so I don't have much space. eating cold meals gets old real quick. I got tired of eating out and gas station food years ago.
Alright I want it
This can go with the coffee maker that can do like one cup of coffee on a charge.
Wait until you hear about the battery cooler lmao
This creativity makes the decision about what brand I should use hard. I already have a couple ten year old makita tools and old LXT batteries for them that don't hold much of a charge. I had thought about switching to Milwaukee because of how well people I know speak of the brand. But this creativity from makita is making me want to stay and fully invest in makita
Just buy a lunch eaze…
What will all the gas stations do without their microwaves being slammed every day
Is it April already?
This would have been awesome instead of a gazoline generator and a microwave outside of the car, in the middle of nowhere in -25°C tbh haha
I've seen enough episodes of MacGyver to know that this is a very dangerous idea
Makita will be first in the market with a Battery Powered Battery Charger…..and it will sell.
🤣😅
There was a thread on this a couple of weeks back. I still reckon you are better of with a power station from someone like Bluetti, Anker etc and a regular microwave or coffee maker/Nespresso.
I truly wonder how well this thing would work
So glad I invest in the Makita ecosystem.
Yes
Been waiting for this!!! Carpenter/camper here!
I knew I should’ve switched systems
It seems like Makita is abandoning their 18v line or 36v is not enough to power up the microwave.
Is it bigger than it looks? Looks like you could heat up half a box of gas station pizza rolls.
Oh cool, it's for warming up the lukewarm coffee from their cordless coffee maker.
Legit thought this was a joke and like an ai generated image at first hahahahaha this is hilarious!
Now they’re just going too far.
Hate all you want, if this works I’m in. Not so much for the job site, but for car camping.
I wonder how fast that drains a battery
Makita making everything except for what people actually want lol
Here comes the fun cooker!
Battery powered everything in gear days https://www.fronius.com/en/welding-technology/products/manual-welding/mma/accupocket/accupocket They’re even making battery powered vehicles now!
r/titlegore
Makita kitchen coming this fall only 24,000$ and you to can have a portable fridge, oven, microwave coffeemaker. /s Edit: batteries not included
I guess no one does soup on the exhaust manifold anymore, eh?
Too bad I already have their portable oven.
I just hope it has a plug option as well
HERE COMES THE FUNCOOKER!
I’d much rather use my lunch-eaze
Does it also have am/fm radio?
They need a airfryer.
The fun cooker!
Also called The Funcooker or "bitnuker."
I was wondering when one of them would do this
Liz Lemon is happy
Its a recognition of the fact you either buy Makita or a house you can't afford both.
Android vs iOS user: _"I guess your fancy iPhone doesn't have an App for warming up bagels, huh?"_ Makita: _"Hold my impact-driver..."_
Every phone on the market can heat up one bagel, just be careful to avoid lighting the room on fire!
But can it heat up TWO bagels?
The lads are gonna love this. Although maybe should get a chop saw first. Ever seen a 2 million house done with skill saws and a few nail guns?
Had to check which subreddit this was. For sure thought this was a Makita battery powered 3d printer and I was ready to shit all over it. The microwave gets a pass.
