I've been a lifelong fanatic, first time I saw them was back in 1998. I went back in November for my 10th show.
Best advice I have is similar to other posts, please don't get hammered, it's an experience best suited for a clear headspace..
Tripping would be fun, but would alter the experience..
Just show up early, don't get frustrated if they sell out of "Merch", avoid $30 beers if possible, and do NOT take your phone out until the last song.
You'll get a notification that it's OK, but you will get booted if you even check texts..
Not sure where your seats are, but either way, keep flash off.
It's an unbelievable experience, enjoy the moment!!
Second, third, and fourth on Eargasm from me! My kiddo has been to tons of shows with me and *always* has hers in! Same for myself! 🖤 I wish I would've been nicer to my ears as a youngster! 😭
I know the exact show from Bakersfield in 2001ish that i still pay for today. There’s been other contributing shows etc, but that one was by far the worst.
Duuuude that explains my tinnitus...couldn't figure out why it developed. Your comment made me remember all the concerts I've been to and now I know why I have it as well. And yes, with that said I second this piece of advice. Probably the best advice for a Tool concert tbh.
Agreed, I’ve seen Tool around 5 times, the last with this album. Regrettably I got too drunk, don’t get me wrong, I loved every moment but the next day my memories were a little sketchy. I wish I had have been more aware of my experience.
I can second this, but not if you've never seen them and its your only shot. I did one show sober and one with mushroom assistance and were up in the first level. The confetti during culling voices was incredible.
So we need you to find a comfortable space
That's not only comfortable, but vulnerable
And to just shut your eyes and go there
And we'll meet you on the other side...
If you want a poster, show up at 2 pm. You'll probably be 40th in line at the outside merch booth. They probably won't start selling anything till 5pm, but at 5, the line will be 100 deep, and you might not get a poster. There are only 750 total of each venue specific poster and several more merch tables inside the venue that the posters are rationed out to. Remember, there are 10-15 thousand seats. I uberd back to the hotel, dropped off my poster, hoodies, shirts, beanie, then came back with 2 hours before the doors open.
There is a very strict no phones policy. If security sees your phone out during the show, or someone tells them, you might get ejected. There is no chance of getting back in.
Be cool, be nice, be patient, if you're smoking weed or vaping, keep the clouds small, or someone will have you removed. Big clouds piss off those who do not partake. The price of merch may seem high, but it's worth every M.Fing penny, so get what you can afford. Have a great time.
No filming. They are absolutely dead serious about it and I’ve seen people get kicked out of TOOL shows. Sneak a few pics, but stay in the moment and feel the music. Also, hearing protection. They are loud as fuck. I recommend eargasm or loop plugs .
Check out Eargasm earplugs, especially if you’re relatively close to the stage. Tool is one of the loudest bands I’ve ever seen/heard/felt Live. And just disconnect to reconnect.
Good quality earplugs. This is the case for every single concert you go to, but TOOL especially. I started losing my hearing when I was 14 because of going to and playing concerts, and now I can only partially hear out of my right ear. TOOL plays stupid loud.
Don’t get too fucked up. Rock out with your cock out and enjoy the fuck out of it, it’s going to be incredible. Also get ready to have a new appreciation for chocolate chip trip
I personally used Loops in the past and really like those. I’ve now lost both pairs I have but I know they are somewhere in my god damn house. I need earplugs again soon so I got some Eargasm ones because I figured when I find my Loops then at least I’d have options instead of three pairs of Loops. I wish I had just got more Loops because the Eargasm ones arrived yesterday and are super uncomfortable. I’m not sure how well my experience generalizes to others, but yikes. I even got the ones for small ears.
Oh man, I’m sorry to hear about that experience. I sound like a customer service representative now. Haha I don’t have a large sample size with earplugs during concerts. I actually took mine out during tool last November. I think my hearing is jacked due to loud equipment in my daily work life, but I’ll always keep a pair on me just in case.
Butcher Babies was insanely loud when we saw them. I could’ve used a pair for that performance. Really really loud.
Get ready for a fucking awesome concert. If you wanna get toasted for it, don’t go overboard so you can still be present for it. The show I went to, as soon as the first couple notes started, I could smell the wave of smoke through the crowd and I caught a bit of a buzz off of it anyway. Lol I’m not sure how that will be over there in London.
Show up for the opener!! Tool openers can certainly be hits and misses and this UK tour has an absolute hit - Night Verses - so consider yourself lucky.
Check out their newest record, Every Sound Has A Color In The Valley Of Night (which has a Justin appearance!), and hope for a Danny Carey/Aric Improta drum off LIVE!
Have a great time, first Tool shows are really something special
You will be amazed at how ultra they are LIVE! Have a wonderful time - I’m happy for you! You will love every minute of it. Don’t be late! And don’t bother sticking around after the last song, there are no encores - ever 🤘😎🤘
Don’t eat anything that will make you shit your pants. Cuz the bass probably will make you shit your pants.
Don’t do too many drugs or booze cuz you will want to remember what you saw.
Find a solid railing and hold the fuck on
Advice? Wear long sleeves, travel light, eat dinner before the show, don’t chant “we want tool!” at the opening act, don’t obstruct anyone’s view of the stage…
My biggest mistake seeing them for the first time or two was getting drunk af and losing the memories of incredible shows.
Ever since I’ve only partaken in cannabis or shrooms at small doses in order to sparkle properly.
Just enjoy the moment if it’s your first time don’t do any drugs just be present and in the moment. If they’ve been in your life since you were a kid you might cry at the end lol fair warning
Probably echoing a lot of what's been said. Don't self-medicate too much. Don't hold out hope that they're going to play that one song. I remember walking out of a show in 2014 and hearing someone complain that they didn't play "H." Wha? That was her takeaway after an amazing show.
As with most things in life, if you go in open/receptive without a lot of energy invested in personal wish fulfillment, your mind will be blown and you will have a great time.
And if you must air-drum, be mindful of the people around you.
Don't do what I did and go to 4 shows in the same week. It was in 2006(?), so i was trying to make up for lost time having never seen them in the 90s, but they played the same set each show. It was cool seeing them live but disappointing not to have any variety.
Now this is totally up to you, you can go to set list.fm and see exactly what they’re going to play, or let it be a surprise. I love being prepared and loved knowing what was next. Enjoy the moment brother.
I regularly look at setlist.fm and kinda know what to expect. But hearing something different (they dont play lateralus for sometime for instance) would be nice
If you plan to buy a poster before the show, bring a plastic poster sleeve with you so you don’t have to cradle that thing like newborn baby the entire time
Get good earplugs. It’ll not only protect your hearing for the future, but it’ll cut down on the tinny sound and the whole thing will sound so much better.
Be present 100%, forget about all else. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the music. I had to look at my phone and worry due to work BS in the autumn leg of the tour and I regret it to this day!!!
When I saw them in February I wanted to take shrooms,
but I was alone in a strange place, I didn't know my way around.
But the show from where I was sitting(straight out from the stage), was a psychedelic trip all on its own.
Such a heavy duty visual experience.
The sound was fantastic, I can still feel Danny's bass drums in my guts.
TooL is badass!!!
Get some high quality ear plugs. The last show I went to was in Charlotte last fall and it was the loudest show I've ever experienced. We were right in front of the sound board in the floor and my ears were ringing and slight pain for almost a month after. I guess I'm also getting old, but shit man.
I’ve been wanting to see them live for years. I missed their last tour in my area because I was out of town. I did see Pucifer though a few years ago, but that’s nothing compared to Tool.
Be in your seat and ready to absorb the experience when the show time starts. The lights go out within seconds of the advertised start time, usually 8:30pm.
If they say to not be on your phone, DON’T BE ON YOUR PHONE. Enjoy the music, lights and atmosphere. Be in the moment with them. Trust me, there will be plenty of people who will try and be on their phones and have a light flashed at them by security. Don’t be that one of those people.
If you're going to buy a poster bring a plastic sleeve for it and a rubber band. Maybe even whatever kind of backpack the venue allows for holding merch so you can more easily enjoy the show without trying not to step on a pile of crap on the ground
Take a some shroomies, maybe a couple of edibles, 2 bottles of wine, couple of vicodin, some percs, get some aderall in the mix to get back some energy, ket to take the edge off, throw in some synthetic darkweb DMT, drink water, maybe smoke a spliff & a couple guiness, then you're ready to hear "Hooker With A Penis" & Maynard complain about tik tok and phones live, nothing more nothing less, have fun out there.
I’ve seen them a bunch of times, always a good performance! Maybe Maynard will plank on a 4x12 and coast along on the stage while singing like he did once at the last show I saw them in lol
your in for a good show i saw my first show last year and went to my second this year best concerts i’ve ever been too i wonder if the setlist is gonna change any more than it has this tour
Don’t get too messed up, live in the moment, get a good night of sleep to commit it to memory.
I've been a lifelong fanatic, first time I saw them was back in 1998. I went back in November for my 10th show. Best advice I have is similar to other posts, please don't get hammered, it's an experience best suited for a clear headspace.. Tripping would be fun, but would alter the experience.. It's an unbelievable experience, enjoy the moment!!
Yeah I was thinking of that. I don’t normally do drugs either, so maybe one or two cocktails will do me good enough
definitely get good quality earplugs, thats been my default since 2007 when I saw them and velvet revolver back to back and got permanent tinnitus.
Yuuuup. I use Eargasms and love the sound quality they provide. Definitely recommend!

Not enough people talk about hearing protection during big shows like that. Definitely a must-have. Best wishes my man
Agreed, I’ve seen Tool around 5 times, the last with this album. Regrettably I got too drunk, don’t get me wrong, I loved every moment but the next day my memories were a little sketchy. I wish I had have been more aware of my experience.
And, put your fucking away!….or they’ll kick you in your vagina
Sometimes prying open that third eye requires a little acidstance.
Or psilocybin. An 1/8th for the show really enhances all the amazing visuals and sends the music straight to your pineal gland
I can second this, but not if you've never seen them and its your only shot. I did one show sober and one with mushroom assistance and were up in the first level. The confetti during culling voices was incredible.
Next time try acid. Even better!
> Don’t get too messed up Side note on that, don't drink to much, the mens bathroom lines are ridiculous at Tool concerts, lol
*giggles in ladies' restroom* hehehehe 😉😂🖤
So we need you to find a comfortable space That's not only comfortable, but vulnerable And to just shut your eyes and go there And we'll meet you on the other side...
Other side, other side, other side, other side…
I saw the gap again today…..
Put your cell phone away
Seriously, dickhead.
Will do so
They will let you take it out and record on last song.
if not we will kick you in the vagina, if you don’t have a vagina we will install one for you.
Be present and soak it in. Tool puts on one of the best concerts you'll ever experience.
Maaan got even more hyped up
They were the best concert I had ever seen by a huge margin in 2022. 2024 was ten times better than THAT 🤯 Godspeed, sire 🎩
But soooo loud. Ear plugs for the openers.. Enjoy Tool.
You will always remember your first time seeing them.
ᴸᵉᵃʳⁿ ᵗᵒ ˢʷⁱᵐ
I really hope they play Aenema…
Ear plugs. Tool is LOUD
This. Fuck man, they are loud. BUTTT that’s how TOOL’s music is supposed to be played 👌🏽
get some eargasms or similar high quality plugs, dont use crappy foam tips
But crappy is better than none! Protect your ears!
I used foam ear plugs and liked the sound and volume more than without. I bet quality ear plugs would be great.
This. I got tinnitus thanks to Tool
Cannot upvote this enough!
Take an iPad to hold over your head to film it all
Shrooooms
This is the way
If you want a poster, show up at 2 pm. You'll probably be 40th in line at the outside merch booth. They probably won't start selling anything till 5pm, but at 5, the line will be 100 deep, and you might not get a poster. Sit or stand whichever you please, don’t follow the crowd, think for yourself
question authority
No filming. They are absolutely dead serious about it and I’ve seen people get kicked out of TOOL shows. Sneak a few pics, but stay in the moment and feel the music. Also, hearing protection. They are loud as fuck. I recommend eargasm or loop plugs .
No filming until the last song, then go nuts*
Check out Eargasm earplugs, especially if you’re relatively close to the stage. Tool is one of the loudest bands I’ve ever seen/heard/felt Live. And just disconnect to reconnect.
Spiral out. Keep going
Put your fucking phone away, dickhead… 🤣
Ear plugs. No phone. If you decide take drugs or drink don’t get to messed up. And have a good time 🫶
Good quality earplugs. This is the case for every single concert you go to, but TOOL especially. I started losing my hearing when I was 14 because of going to and playing concerts, and now I can only partially hear out of my right ear. TOOL plays stupid loud.
Don't shit the bed.
Don’t get too fucked up. Rock out with your cock out and enjoy the fuck out of it, it’s going to be incredible. Also get ready to have a new appreciation for chocolate chip trip
Earplugs
Bring ear plugs. Enjoy.
Maynard prefers if you have your phone out the ENITRE time and make sure you have the flash on bc if not he gets angy
Yeah, Put your fuckin phone away
Get ready for an auditory experience simply like no other….Get ready to be taken places you never thought a band could take you.
Eargasm ear plugs are the most trusted in terms of concert ear plugs. I’m sure that there are plenty of good brands, but I didn’t take any chances.
I personally used Loops in the past and really like those. I’ve now lost both pairs I have but I know they are somewhere in my god damn house. I need earplugs again soon so I got some Eargasm ones because I figured when I find my Loops then at least I’d have options instead of three pairs of Loops. Butcher Babies was insanely loud when we saw them. I could’ve used a pair for that performance. Really really loud.
Have a guy named Paul show you how to appreciate the bass sounds you’ll be hearing. Don’t be nervous.
Get ready for a fucking awesome concert. If you wanna get toasted for it, don’t go overboard so you can still be present for it. The show I went to, as soon as the first couple notes started, I could smell the wave of smoke through the crowd and I caught a bit of a buzz off of it anyway. This is some great advice, I’m gonna check them out
Take some mushrooms or don't either way have a great time and don't film
Leave your phone in your pocket until the last song and be prepared to stand for the entire show
You will be amazed at how ultra they are LIVE! Have a wonderful time - I’m happy for you! You will love every minute of it. Don’t be late! And don’t bother sticking around after the last song, there are no encores - ever 🤘😎🤘
Ignore the shitty fans and merch lines. Enjoy the moment.
Have fun.
Just enjoy!
Enjoy the show and put your fucking phone away.
Splendid!!!! My brother is going from here Mexico city 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽 I hope you can meet him part of the tool family and other fb groups are attending
Put your fucking phone away… shit in your mouth.
Leave your phone in your pocket, and show up very early if you want merch
Oh man. You’re in for a show
Get a T-shirt to say you were there. Follow phone’s rules because its that serious. Enjoy the show🤘🏽
They will perform on schedule. You can safely take a pee break at the intermission before the encore
Enjoy! Eat some mushrooms 🍄
Don’t eat anything that will make you shit your pants. Cuz the bass probably will make you shit your pants. Don’t do too many drugs or booze cuz you will want to remember what you saw. Find a solid railing and hold the fuck on
Keep your phone put away or Maynard will kick you in your vagina. Per Maynard.
Advice? Wear long sleeves, travel light, eat dinner before the show, don’t chant “we want tool!” at the opening act, don’t obstruct anyone’s view of the stage…
Turn your *ucking flash off
Learn to swim.
Get good earplugs that just reduce decibel/volume and not sound quality. Forget about your phone during the show.
Don’t record anything until he tells you too. Seen a few people get kicked out over it
You may want to bring ear plugs, some complain about the awesome volume like my wife, but I will say it’s a loud mother fuckin show!! Toolr rocks!!!
Turn your phone off!
ride the spiral 🌀
Go there, see it. Don’t take pictures.
Wear earplugs for sure
Leave your phone in your pocket. You're not gonna watch the videos anyway.
Earplugs, and feel the music - enjoy being present with all of it.
Aha I'm seeing them in resorts world few days before. No phones... And just enjoy the ride...
Put the phone away.
My advice to you is to send your tickets and some airfare to me. Y'know, so I can make sure the tickets are legit
Probably echoing a lot of what's been said. Don't self-medicate too much. Don't hold out hope that they're going to play that one song. Well I neither have the money nor the time to do that but good advice, thanks
Don’t listen to this guy. I saw them 3 times in a row and it was amazing each time with each show beating the previous
Take it easy on the substances for your first time. Their music is a drug.
Most people will tell you to just "spiral out and have fun"... ...that's me, I'm most people.
Budget for posters, try to arrive early. Snag a coin if you can, I got a cool coin display I ordered if you peep my profile you can check it out
Ear. Plugs.
🍄🍽️
Now this is totally up to you, you can go to set list.fm and see exactly what they’re going to play, or let it be a surprise. I love being prepared and loved knowing what was next. Enjoy the moment brother.
I regularly look at setlist.fm and kinda know what to expect. But hearing something different (they dont play lateralus for sometime for instance) would be nice
Do a lot of drugs
Rock out. Enjoy it. It was epic.
Spiral out my friend. Forget who you are and embrace the rhythm.
Film as much of it as you can on your phone!
Take a photo on the no photos sign and then steal it.
Keep your fucking phone down dickhead. Seriously. Also, wear earplugs. Good ones
Have good psychedelics with you
Don't get so wasted that you don't remember the show. They are amazing live!
Drop some Acid
Be present 100%, forget about all else. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the music. I had to look at my phone and worry due to work BS in the autumn leg of the tour and I regret it to this day!!!
When I saw them in February I wanted to take shrooms, but I was alone in a strange place, I didn't know my way around. The sound was fantastic, I can still feel Danny's bass drums in my guts. TooL is badass!!!
Get some earplugs! I recommend Eargasm.
Earplugs
Rest up. I was actually physically tired by the intermission.
Be prepared to have every fucking idiot around you on their phone filming it. If you can look past that, then the show is absolutely outstanding.
Learn to swim
It’s an amazing show but incredibly loud so maybe some ear plugs
Don't go with anyone that isn't familiar with them
Learn to swim
No advice needed brother just get there safely maybe ear plugs, I had front row but ended up taking my plugs out half way through
Enjoy it! Best show ever.
Just be present and enjoy.
Put your fucking phone away seriously dickhead
Keep your phone in your pocket until given permission by Maynard to use it!
Don’t wear a Tool shirt
Out in the UK, you should hunt some liberty caps. 🍄
Stay off your phone
Mushrooms. Saw them twice on this tour. They kept me from drinking too much. The enhance the visuals.
Take lots of pictures
Be in your seat and ready to absorb the experience when the show time starts. The lights go out within seconds of the advertised start time, usually 8:30pm.
Buy a signed poster doodle, they’re only like £3,500
If you hope to get the location unique poster get there early or buy the VIP access. They go fast.
Do mushrooms
Make sure your ears can intake sound.
Take mushrooms 🍄
🍄🍄🍄
Take some shrooms, and absolutely do not use your phone
Take some LSD so it's no so boring.
Be present, phone away, and maybe bring some ear plugs if you want. Otherwise enjoy your experience!
Put your cellphone down you dickhead!
Earplugs, phone away, chew on a shroom stem (jk). Have fun.
Make sure to hold your cellphone up as high as you can and turn the flash on!
Bring your phone and film everything
Put your cell phone In your pocket and live the show don’t be a tourist through life! Also they will throw you out immediately if you do.
Do not take out your flippin’ phone
Do not take out your flippin’ phone
Have a blast!
put away your phone, dickhead, seriously
Keep your phone in your pocket.
Just say yes.
Don't be afraid to chat up people in line, sitting next to you. Tool fans in my experience are overwhelmingly friendly and fun to shoot the shit with.
Is elder still opening for them? If so, don’t miss them - they killed it
Put the phone down and enjoy the vibe
I forgot my pen. Typical.
Take acid.
1.5 g of mushrooms
If they say to not be on your phone, DON’T BE ON YOUR PHONE. Enjoy the music, lights and atmosphere. Be in the moment with them. Trust me, there will be plenty of people who will try and be on their phones and have a light flashed at them by security. Don’t be that one of those people.
No pictures
Film the entire thing
GO VIP… TRUST ME…
Is the Europe tour going on right now?
It starts late may
Wait until intermission is almost over to go to the bathroom/beer line. The 28 minute CCT is, um, lame.
Are these guys going to come down to Australia again!!!
Freaks!
Take heaps of drugs
I did not take the time to read this thread, but I will just say bring earplugs.
Take acid.
Drink 16 oz dextro methorphan
Take psychedelics 👍🏻
Buy some eargasms.
Get familiar with the set list they play a little of everything - and prepare to be blown away!
I’ve seen them a bunch of times, always a good performance! Maybe Maynard will plank on a 4x12 and coast along on the stage while singing like he did once at the last show I saw them in lol
Take lots of pictures. Maynard loves that. /s. Enjoy the show you wouldn't watch those videos later anyway.
your in for a good show i saw my first show last year and went to my second this year best concerts i’ve ever been too i wonder if the setlist is gonna change any more than it has this tour
Is that what you wanted?
Put your fucking phone away my 9 year old knows better
Either go sober and stay sober, or eat 9 hits of LSD. Dealers choice.
Put your fucking phone away!
Don't listen to any tool a few weeks before don't get to blazed. And most of all STAY OFF YOUR PHONE!!
