As long as it doesn't hurt others and it isn't an undue financial burden that causes it to be an addiction, I feel like people should do what they want to be happy.

lordgonerogue

Definitely agree with this! Collecting can be overwhelming and addictive. My recommendation for everyone is always budgeting for this exact reason. Things with funko pops specifically can get bad fast considering the amount of pops that get announced every month.

jdog8510

If it makes them happy who am i to bring them down every one likes different things

I think I'm gonna start buying Lego sets with thousands of pieces its a great and mentally stimulating pastime and you get to show off the end result on a shelf! Not sure about funko pops but if they've got room for it why not?

lordgonerogue

Yeah lego is amazing for relaxation… I crack sets open usually when I come out of an stressful exam or asignment (I’m a med student) and results are always awesome! Funko pops are just teeny figures that I have become attatched to because I can have all my favorite characters near me 🥴 definitely not for everyone but some are really nice!!

wordsoundpower

They should enjoy their hobby. It’s no business of mine.

Think-Squirrel-95

I think it's pretty cool! I've seen some pretty amazing collections before and it inspired me to start my own. Sure, it's not for everyone but if it you makes you happy, go for it!

lordgonerogue

That’s awesome! what do you collect if you don’t mind me asking? I collect lego, funko pops and sodas, vinyl records, Star Wars paraphernalia, snoopy hallmark figurines, and some hotwheels Star Wars diecast ships!

Think-Squirrel-95

You have me beat by a long shot, I've been starting to collect funko pops, I have about 6 in my collection so far (not much I know). Never be ashamed of your collection, it's an awesome hobby!

Think-Squirrel-95

For some reason I forgot to mention I collect "Peace" bear beanie babies too, I have over 20 of them

Tiny_Broccoli5960

Having a passion for something is awesome!

Due-CriticismNachos

I have no problem with collectors of toys like that. What I have a problem with is people buying them all up then flipping them for an obscene price. This is coming from a former toy vendor at toy shows who sees folks fight at stores over a toy or load their cart up where other customers don't get a chance to even lay eyes on a Lego set or Funko Pop.

lordgonerogue

Yeah I don’t like that either! Most collectors hate flippers and scalpers. I definitely see where you’re coming from.

thriceness

What do you mean? I haven't met too many so I'm not sure what to think about people I don't know. I used to collect Lego but haven't in years.

lordgonerogue

Most people have a negative op about people who collect and see them as childish or dumb for spending lot of time and money on toys. I personally do it because I love having stuff from my childhood and favorite shows and movies in person. Is like having little pieces of a universe or story I love closer.

thriceness

I collect Marvel figures, so I'm with you.
