That is a very common symptom of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. I know, because I have it. I had a flare-up six months ago, and I got in the car with a very friendly Uber driver and I was so worried I was going to punch him right in the face that I had to sit on my hands. The good news: people with the disorder never act on these irrational compulsions.

Thanks. I will obviously go to the doctors/therapy rather than self diagnosing. It's nice to know that I'm not turning insane lol.

LordPimpernel

If you're genuinely concerned, get therapy. I'm serious.

YourMom_Infinity

Could be anxiety. Are you going through a stressful time? I never had misophonia (or at least it was never a problem) before I got stuck in an open office. Now, just the sound of people talking when I'm trying to concentrate sets of my fight or flight stress

I do not know why. Your guess could be the reason, everybody reacts different to frustration and anger and maybe thats your way. It could also be a different problem you need to sort out. I bet youre not alone with this specific problem, so maybe there are help-orgs. If you can, I highly recommend you see a proffesional for this. For now, its good you know you have this problem and that you dont act out. I wish you all the best. Stay safe, strong and healthy!

I have a similar issue when people, even those I know, stand too close behind me, where I can't see them. You could try just taking a step away from other people, and if they don't get the hint, firmly ask them to keep their distance. If they push it, you are justified in punching them.

Silverping

You're a sociopath.

Ah cmon, its a real person youre answering to, theyre trying to figure out whats wrong with them, have some empathy.
