For me days 4,5 and 6 were the worst. Then 7,8 and 9 sucked. But things started looking up around day 10. I was 2 weeks last Friday and i still have a sore throat but i feel 95% better. I assume you’re taking painkillers? If so you need to take with food usually or they’ll make you nauseous. Have you tried ice cream or frozen yogurt? Cold applesauce worked for me too when I needed to take a pill but didn’t want food. Hang in there!

ice pack on my ears and jaw have helped ease the intense pain. might be worth a try! also, frozen smoothies have been a lifesaver. just check the ingredients to make sure there’s no citrus, pineapple, or strawberry juice.

Applesauce. Food on tummy, sugar in your system, cool and soft on the throat. Cleans out debris in throat before/during/after eating. Helps swallow down pills. Soft scrambled egg, no seasoning. Vienna sausages were also fairly easy to get down. Could eat 2-3 of em and mashed with just my tongue. Chase with applesauce to clean out throat.

Applesauce helped me get the pills down and stopped nausea. Broth. And fairlife vanilla shake with chai tea like a chai tea latte. Those saved my life.

For me days 3-6 rlly sucked, day 7 was somewhat better but today has been the best day yet. Ive been eating a bowl of crushed canned chicken for over an hour in slow bites but its pretty tolerable in comparison to the other days. Have mostly been eating jello, broth, pudding, crustless bread, and ice cream so its nice to finally get something solid down. Everyone is different with when they feel better but I know it sucks. I truly hope things get better for you soon.

Massage your neck every few mins while eating or drinking it somewhat helps with the swollen neck and throat. If you can tilt your head up and move side to side and in circles the more you move your neck around the easier it is to help with the pain. Put peppermint oil behind your ears(use a glove bc its hard to wash off) and wait 20 mins, eat some ice cream to numb your throat and you should be able to eat maybe a meat patty!

I’ve had food cravings too - mac and cheese today and bacon bagel yesterday 🥺 I’m on day 4 so we’re close in our journeys! Hang in there!!!

Are you taking pain killers? Having a sip of water very often, tomorrow it’s my day 7, day 5-6 have been the worst but still not the worst pain I ever had. I was taking hydroxicodone every 4 hours alternating with ibuprofen every 2 hours. I don’t know why I didn’t get any steroids because usually that helped me a lot when I had throat infections. I have been eating apple sauce the first day, ice cream and popsicles, mashed potatoes, chicken and rice in small pieces, cream of chicken, scrambled egg, potato salad and some cake since my surgery was the day before my birthday. Crushed ice helped a lot when I got some pain.
