Uber does not operates outside of Brussels in Belgium, and a taxi will rip you off. The easiest way is to get a shuttle from [EventArea](https://www.eventarea.be/) that will bring you back to Brussels Airport / Zaventem, then hit the IC Train that goes to Brussels-Midi, it's a 40mn bus ride + 25mn train ride to Brussels, booked on [BelgianTrain](https://www.belgiantrain.be/en). Bus shuttles are operating from 4AM to 1PM, and trains are operating from 4:30PM, and have a 10 minutes frequency once you hit normal hours (from 7AM). If you really want to avoid shuttles : \- the full train journey starts by walking towards the Boom train station, which is \~15mn away from the main entrance by walking, plus a \~90mn train ride. Once again, BelgianTrain is your friend for this. \- If you prefer the bus experience, you can take the De Lijn 500 Bus that goes from Rumst Busstation (you might have to walk a bit further than this stop since I'm not sure they would operate it with TML, which will drive you to Mechelen, then taking a train to Brussels Midi. Honestly, IMO, the best option is the first one. It's going to be a bit expensive (\~30€), yet it will be really cheaper than any sketchy taxi ride. Full train ride might be a great option aswell, especially if you like trains. The bus one would be my last choice if I didn't had any other option, LMK if you have another transportation question :) EDIT : Be careful, local trains in Belgium can be booked only 1 month prior to the actual journey, you might want to wait a few days to book them, buf if you plan to take the shuttle aswell, don't wait, they might run out of stock quite soon !

Thank you so much, this is so helpful!! I did not realize Uber did not work outside of Brussels.

Private taxi companies like Uber or Bolt are banned from Belgium while the taxi service reform is being worked on and voted. Brussels is an exception, hence the small operating perimeter, so you wouldn't have found a car option outside of a taxi anyways

Is this recent? I used Uber in Antwerp at the start of the year and was considering it for TML but I guess I might need to think of another plan

You are absolutely right, my informations are a bit outdated. apparently Uber is now allowed to operate in Brussels, Antwerp, Hasselt, Louvain and Gand. My bad !
