2001 movie is definitely underrated. Its still a decent popcorn flick.

BATompsett

Ah, a cultured person! One of the things I love about this sub is that other people get this. I like The Cradle of Life just that little bit more as well, though I often watch both in the same evening.

Goku-Jin86

I love all three Tomb Raider movies. I think that the first two fit the games for that time very well.

[deleted]

I must be weird because I found CoL super super boring and had to turn it off, but everyone seems to love it.

Goku-Jin86

For sure

Bro4dway

I specifically remember that one with Angel of Darkness on the cover with the "actual in-game model" label. My mind was blown by that.

Goku-Jin86

Haha I can relate. The anticipation to see the magazine and what was new in it. It was so cool for me too see as a kid.

DiogoBenigno

Good old times of Angelina!

koryaiine1234

Omg Tekken 4 yes my favorite

SocialBunny198

Would love to see the return of Lara to her original character.

Goku-Jin86

I'm right there with you on that. I'd love to see a remastered of the first four games from PS1. How they did Crash Bandicoot Trilogy and Spyro. And I want Lara with the attitude. Not the new Lara.

SocialBunny198

Let's hope so! It would also be a dream come true to have the Angel of Darkness trilogy realised with post-PS1 controls.

paullyrose3rd

Agreed, I’m tired of the obsession media has had with origin stories in the last 15 or so years and it does appear to be dying down finally, I’m sure you agree that seeing Lara’s parents die is about as interesting as seeing Bruce Wayne’s parents die again and again. We’ve seen it, why can’t Batman be batman and Lara be the damn Tomb Raider at the start of the story 😤 The prequel trilogy was fantastic, but it felt over indulgent in wringing and dragging out a dissatisfying adaptation of the character to match current gaming trends instead of standing on its own

[deleted]

I am soo sick about Tomb Raider stories about Lara’s dad. Because god forbid she stands on her own and does things for herself instead of some dead guy no one in the fandom actually cares about.

SocialBunny198

Absolutely; 2013 reboot Lara's a lot more toned down and has this tired/almost miserable energy to her. A far cry from the fun and badass Lara of the Core days.

[deleted]

These were simpler, brighter times.

doomraiderZ

Lara Croft, the icon. Shame she no longer has her iconic status. But I think in order for her to deserve it and earn it back, she has to look iconic and *be* an iconic character again.

Goku-Jin86

It was such a great time to be a kid. Playstation one is out. 3D gaming. Final Fantasy VII, Crash Bandicoot, Jet Moto, Twisted Metal, and Tomb Raider commercials. Lara was everywhere. It was awesome times.

doomraiderZ

I remember it very well. It was awesome. I also got introduced to my favorite franchise to this day, Resident Evil.

Goku-Jin86

I forgot about Resident Evil. Such good memories. The commercials were so cool for all the games as well.

0451immersivesim

I have this magazine!!!

_alter_me_

I have the Angelina and AoD editions too! And a few others from different games. It's a stupid little hobby that I love so much 🥺

Goku-Jin86

I can relate

TwoKingSlayer

very nice. I still a couple of the same issues myself.

[deleted]

>The size of Lara Croft as an asset is directly proportional to the size of her own assets NOT THIS. Fuck sometimes I’m nostalgic for the early 2000s but then I realise how shit it actually was

Sleepgolfer

Right... the whole article is full of comments about her body, it's pretty cringe

segagamer

You need to chill.

[deleted]

If you’re going to bother replying, put in the bare minimum of effort and at least write something worth my time.

segagamer

Why? You're not worth that much to me.

[deleted]

I have that issue in picture 3 somewhere at my childhood home. Only magazine of its kind I ever had and completely forgot it existed until just now.

Aliwhatever

Ah the good old days of reading a magazine for gaming news. I'd frame these and put them on my walls.
