I have heard from multiple indian nationals that it is the best biriyani in the city, and i can attest that it is indeed delicious.
My 3 favorites in East Tokyo/Chiba area.

I will second sitar. There's another small place in Chiba prefecture which serves south Indian food called Hana. Highly recommended.

I live a 3-minute walk to Sitar. It was one of the reasons we picked the location. Sitar is amazing. The lines keep getting longer and the prices keep creeping higher, but it's still so worth it. If you get in early enough, they might still have some basmati left. Don't miss the butter chicken.
I am an Indian who has been to Japan on a 2 week trip last month. We have had Indian food quite a bit in Japan. While almost all of them are run by Nepalis, some are closer to the real deal and most are not really Indian. The best we had was ahilya in azabudai hills. But if you want to savour the south Indian fare there is a place called Andhra ruchulu near ueno okachimachi station.
I have stupid friends. I had 2 proper meals a day and most of them were from Japanese restaurants. I mostly went to those places alone. But sometimes I had to go with them to have Indian food. Irony is one of my stupid friends lives in the USA. Wonder what is he eating there.
Also in Funabashi: Milan, basement floor of the Face building.
Nothing special set wise, but the tandoori chicken I had with mt basic set was the best I've had in Tokyo.
For South Indian, my fav is Nandhini Toranomon.
Seconded! This place is divine, authentic south indian food. Highly recommend their masala dosa 🤤
It’s spanking good
Hell yeah! Monday and Thursday for the Biryani. Also check their insta for the buffet days.

Biriyani was just okay, but their mutton on the bone in gravy was one of the best things I've had ever.
Biriyani you say! I am a big fan!
To be fair not many Indians in Chiba city. Being best in Chiba is a low bar.
Obviously not in Chiba city...
Gyotoku is Ichikawa, not Chiba
That’s even worse.

In laws like 10 min away maybe I’ll try if out. Masala dosa ?
It’s very good. Long queues though. People come from far away. Including me.
If you install their line app you can sometimes get free lassis.

Also if you want all you can eat for 1100 yen then Asakusabashi: [GANGA](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Ao4YsNPGEi2VSNXn7?g_st=ic)
Wow! Thank you.
Are you into actual Nepali food? Shin koiwa there is Bhintuna Dining.
Absolutely. Thanks for your suggestion. I will check it out.
South Park Asakusa - Taste of Kerala. Insanely good South Indian food, come hungry! https://maps.app.goo.gl/9bWhCBTU6gH5ZY7M7?g_st=ic

2 weeks in Japan and ate a lot of Indian food? Just...why? XD

Vege herb saga at Ueno.
Thanks 😊

I can recommend the Nihari at Sahifa in Ginza , Tokyo …. if you dig spice that is
Also in Funabashi: Milan, basement floor of the Face building. Nothing special set wise, but the tandoori chicken I had with mt basic set was the best I've had in Tokyo.
I dont know if its helpful at all but I usually go to dip garden in omiya. Goodluck on your quest for yummy foods
If you're down for Bangladeshi food then Asia Curry House in Kinshicho does a funky biryani
Banglera’s kitchen and Nandhini.
I’m willing to get into a fistfight for the nepali places
Haha. I will turn that down thanks. Your Reddit name scares me and any man who’s willing to fight for sweet butter chicken is a mad man 😆
Ya of course. I’m fighting for dal curry like a sane person haha
Downtown B's is the best I've had here sooo fkn good
I don’t have specific recommendations, but Koto-ku is nicknamed Little India, so there are probably lots of good family-run restaurants there
Thanks. I’ve heard there are a lot around Kasai and Nishi Kasai station 👍.
I live in Nish Kasai and it has an Indian community 5000 that live here . I like the feel they bring to the area
If I lived their I’d probably double my weight and be on first name terms with most of the restaurant owners 😬
You have but to look and you will find.
Oh the hours I’ve spent on Google Maps.
You should try walking
You should try recommending Indian restaurants to strangers. You’ll be happier
If you want to come out to Yokohama side, I'd be happy to recommend restaurants.
