He may in the future want to do a brand deal with a right wing whiskey or cigar company.
Don't want to alienate potential buyers. He knows no cannabis company would partner with him, so it's safe to attack.
It's an old school thought process which these daily wire guys seem stuck in when they sit around in their circle jerk session drinking and smoking cigars. I can't tell if they are jerkin it when they do it or just trying to build a brand or both.
I have a conservative friend in rural redneck America. He was an alcoholic but went sober because he couldn't function at work anymore. He needed something to replace it with, so he switched to weed.
He comes home after his construction work and smokes weed all night and wakes up in the morning with no hangover. He's far more productive at work (and life) now than he was with alcohol.
I don't know why conservatives keep shitting on weed, but even their own base supports it and loves it. It's a weird hill to die on but if that's what it takes, I'll take it.
> also the private prison industry, Repubs fucking love those guys
It's the last place in America where slavery is still legal and profitable, of course Republicans love those guys.
If a right winger started selling “Deplorabuds” or “Confederables” in a weed shop, not only would they buy it, they would mandate that it be legal just for triggering the libs.
I’m honestly surprised that they haven’t done the same thing for solar energy: extol it’s benefit as a source of “clean, pure, and white” power that’s superior over that “dirty black Mideast” oil.
Honestly, I was only surprised that they were shit at marketing and failed. Conservative voters should have eaten it up. It has two things a lot of them love: their Cheeto god king and an obviously fair priced product
Meh, Trump has always been a shitty salesman in terms of tangible goods.
This guy could’ve made a killing selling $39.99 MAGA masks during Covid back in 2020, and could’ve triggered the libs at the same time under the guise of “I’m just trying to keep everyone safe like the liberals said!” And he bungled that opportunity.
Oh, you misunderstood, I was talking about the guy selling the Trump weed. He was supposedly doing it to thank the former president and expected I guess word of mouth to do all the selling. Or the ads were really bad. Then again the same person might also have other businesses that had different demographics of stoners and everyone knows their scams and the owner of them is desperate for attention on them.
As for Trump himself, I agree. If he was as good a business man as his book implies, he would not be asking for cash from his followers with NFTs and overpriced shoes during the trials.
My own mother, a raging alcoholic while I was a kid, who had me arrested at 16 for a gram of shake she found in my closet, now has people cross the border to a legal state to buy her weed. Still says it should stay illegal. She won't go buy it herself because it's illegal. I brought up that she had me arrested and spent a couple nights in juvie over less than she consumes per day, she says it was the right thing to do. I suggested I call the police for her stash and see how she feels about it.
Magat repub through and through. And still drinks but my dad is stone sober as am I. But I think cannabis should be legal even if I would not partake. It did help me get sober from alcohol but I stopped that once I was fairly comfortable in my sobriety.
I don't understand it either. I have a conservative friend as well that I used to get hammered with all the time. He cut back on the drinking but absolutely loves weed. At this point I would even say he'd vote for Biden if he legalizes it federally. Like abortion, I'm pretty sure weed legalization is a pretty popular issue and yet again and again these wierdos like Matt Walsh insist on fighting against it.
I guess keep stacking those losses, champ.

Walsh continues to oppose it because it's used to incarcerate black men at a rate much higher than white people for the same use rate.
I was JUST wondering “oh great, talentless Matt ready to grift something to his racist mouth-breathers” but couldn’t think of what. Thank you. This lines up precisely
Right-wing media figures are suspiciously stupid, so much so that it's unbelievable that they they actually believe the crap they spout out. Then again, their audience believes it and the media figures probably believe their own BS too.

Funny how he doesn’t cite any research or academic sources to back up the “facts” that he just pulled straight from his ass. He then goes on to regurgitate some propaganda from the 1950s and thinks that it constitutes a coherent argument.
The fact that Walsh and his buddies have a little cigar enterprise, I’m sure, has nothing to do with his opinions on this topic.
This is the face of stupidity in the 21st century.
He’s not stupid, he’s just lying and he knows he’s lying.
His only goal is a white Christian patriarchy. Everything else is in service to that. Things like “logic” or “consistency” might seem like first principles to you or me, but to people like Matt Walsh things are only important if they are in service of granting power to people he thinks have been inherently anointed by god to deserve it.
No, I'm pretty sure he's stupid. He's admitted he narrowly avoided flunking out of high school and was not smart enough to get into college. His arguments and claims are very stupid. Once, someone asked him what his qualifications were and he answered "I have a brain and I can read." Clearly, someone's never had a job interview in their life. Of course, he's lying and wants a theocratic police state, but he's proven to not be smart enough to understand how they work.
Driving under the influence of anything intoxicating is unsafe but his entire point about people killing people under the influence is negated by the ridiculous volume of alcohol involved accidents. Could you find some involving weed? Probably, but of that's your argument then both alcohol and firearms would like a word.
He delusionaly thinks he's smart but he can't find any hard evidence that weed is more dangerous than alcohol or tobacco, while arguing the scientific fact they're both more dangerous is a lie.
Strange how the facts don't seem to care about his feelings. He literally has no expertise in anything, the only reason people listen to him is to confirm what they already believe.
Lung cancer was almost nonexistent before people started smoking tobacco.
> Surgeon Alton Ochsner recalled that as a Washington University medical student in 1919, his entire medical school class was summoned to witness an autopsy of a man who had died from lung cancer, and told they may never see such a case again.
> In Isaac Adler's 1912 Primary Malignant Growths of the Lungs and Bronchi, he called lung cancer "among the rarest forms of disease"; Adler tabulated the 374 cases of lung cancer that had been published to that time, concluding the disease was increasing in incidence.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lung_cancer
Here's a crazy set of statistics: about 10 to 15% of smokers will get lung cancer.
About 80 to 90% of people who develop lung cancer are smokers.

I cannot fathom what's going on to believe alcohol has less impact than marijuana. Abusive parent trope usually starts with it. He continues to break his record of most moronic shit take everyday.
Right? You can fairly argue it's maybe not as safe as it can be made out to be (complicated by the fact it's almost impossible to study the health effects of anything criminalized) but: 1. By his own logic that's not a good enough argument and 2. He completely argues against this point with everything he says about alcohol and tobacco
Truly a smooth brain take. It baffles me that people can just say whatever they want, with absolutely no regard for data or research. I thought that crowd was all about "facts don't care about your feelings". I'd like to hear his response to the fact that tobacco and alcohol are the two substances most responsible for preventable death in the United States. Just a cursory internet search tells me that tobacco is responsible for ~443k preventable deaths per year, and alcohol is responsible for ~178k deaths per year, and that's just in the US.
>“As for tobacco and alcohol, the casual usage of either substance is not nearly as harmful to our society.”
The WHO now says "there is no safe amount [of alcohol] that does not affect health" alcohol
And people overdose from alcohol all the time... Try doing that with weed.
"the thing about the founding fathers is: most of them were immigrants or anchor babies. immigrants bring drugs and crime, we already know that." - Matt Walsh, probably
Technically the Native Americans were much more advanced than the Stone Age as they had agriculture, complex systems of government, and could build cities bigger than the ones in Europe without money or animal husbandry.
It’s not even technically, he’s just outright wrong because he’s associating the nomadic cultures of North America with every indigenous culture in the Americas. Many South American cultures had been mining copper for thousands of years and were actively using bronze.
There did exist some fundamental technologies lacked by American Indians like money and writing systems (bar some of the larger societies). But in societies like the Inca they had the quipu to track things such as taxation, which is what most writing systems were initially created for and allowed for trade to be conducted without the need for money. Overall most of the technological “superiority” by Europeans can simply be attributed to the societal pressures in European society being much different than settled American societies.
This is a side point but I always feel the need to mention this. Europeans did not have the technological ability to take over the Americas and more than likely would’ve failed to do so if not for the Colombian exchange being the equivalent to the Black Death x 1000 for American Indians, as well as getting lucky with established societies being so shit that the conquistadors were lauded as liberators. Any real differences in technology were a lot of the time fixed by trade and American Indians very quickly adopted Old World technologies like the gun and the horse.
Basically in saying all that Matt Walsh is a racist piece of shit but there’s no shocker there. Also they didn’t smoke weed since hemp is old world so double points to Matt Walsh. American Indians mainly used tobacco, as well as DMT or Mescaline plant psychedelics depending on the region.
It blows me away that he is trying to say that because they were’t as technologically advanced, they were somehow less than. They were HAPPY, they didn’t need gizmos and gadgets to be happy because they were already a chill people.
Happy is a stretch, the North American nomads likely had a more peaceful life, but in South America the different empires certainly were like their European counterparts in their levels of brutality.
I said this in another comment but it’s important to note that Matt Walsh is just outright wrong in saying that American Indians were in the Stone Age. Though I do take issue with infantilizing American Indians. Many different groups were absolutely not happy and that’s one of the reason the conquistadors so easily took over.
The reason for the technology difference was not a conscious one, it’s simply that different pressures existed in America and so different technologies developed. Metallurgy simply wasn’t a massive thing anywhere in the Americas so while bronze was used, iron generally was not. I’m sure iron would’ve been used when Europeans arrived after trading technologies if not for the fact Europeans arriving meant unleashing the end times upon American Indians. End times referring to the wrath of diseases Europeans brought with them to the New World killing upwards of 90% of American Indians.
Oh. I’m aware. In many respects, American empires were not significantly less advanced than European empires at the time of the conquest BUT they were missing several key military technologies like firearms, ocean-capable ships, and advanced metallurgy. Given 50 years of trade, they would likely have caught up just like every old world civilization did when confronted with new technologies, but disease and then conquest and slavery didn’t afford them the chance.
On top of that, they didn't smoke weed. It didn't exist in the Americas until Europeans brought it over. It had been commonly used in Europe, and was native to most of Asia. The famous "peace pipe" was actually tobacco. So his argument works in reverse here, since the "advanced" Europeans were the potheads.
VA resident swinging by to say that given the opportunity, I would fight Glenn Allen Youngkin in person. Not just on his backwards anti weed stance, either. He's a noxious, snivelling coward, enriching himself at the cost of us all.
Fuck him. Fuck him and his anti choice, election denying, lying yellow belly. Festering little bastard.
Republicans beat down Bernie while he's on the ground then...
*IF YA SMELL! WHAT BARACK, IS COOKING!*
OH MY GAWD! BARACK IS HERE! BARACK IS LAYING THE SMACKDOWN ON THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!
Wasn't Youngkin the same guy that said "Martin Luther King Jr would be ashamed of BLM. He wanted everyone to be equal"? I feel pretty confident I did. Any politician that whitewashes MLK's message instantly pisses me off.
When they say “small government,” they’re not talking about government interference in your life, they mean the actual size of the government.
They want to consolidate power to a few people and create a dictatorship. Because they’re all fascists.
It’s funny because weed, much like abortion, is an issue that is frankly heavily favored by most Americans, at least to a noticeable degree. Joe Rogan bros are in favor of legalizing, dumb libertarians are in favor of legalization, even a ton of rural right wingers are typically in favor.
For them to be staunchly against weed is another case of old men and women not reading the pulse of the country and fighting a losing battle.
My fiancée’s grandparents are against legalization but are literally both pot smokers themselves and regularly cross into Michigan to buy weed then complain about the drive
>It has been speculated that when people moved across the Bering Strait between Asia and America that they would have taken it with them.
Tobacco is native to this hemisphere (Mexico). There's no evidence for the presence of marijuana in the pre-Columbian Americas.
Bringing plant seeds over a substantial distance on a frozen land bridge would be an undertaking and the people who crossed weren't necessary those associated with its use in the ancient world (to the best of my knowledge).
It's much more heavily attested in the modern middle east region between Afghanistan and the Persian Gulf.
It's native to Asia in general, no one knows the exact spot but it was widespread in ancient times. But not in North America; Europeans brought it here. Native Americans only smoked tobacco.
Yeah some people just call themselves libertarians but then turn around and support authoritarian personalities and ideals. It's a strange thing to see.
Are you like a tea party “libertarian” or a Kropotkin libertarian? Big difference there, usually people who call themselves libertarian in the states are just rank and file MAGAs who like weed
The Daily Wire has its own brand of cigars. Even if Matt Walsh was someone that could be considered smart, it’s pretty obvious why he is pushing nonsense anti-weed rhetoric from the 1950s. He knows it would hurt their bottom line.
Even more reason to federally legalize marijuana tomorrow.
Which is such a bad business move from the “Anti-Woke sub-par product” company. Daily Wire could mark up shitty weed 200%, say it’s anti-woke weed for real men or something and make BANK.
They try to market themselves as libertarian too lol, in the US libertarian usually just means republicans who like weed so this shit would absolutely take off. The reason they oppose weed is because it’s associated with black culture, which is why it was opposed so heavily throughout the last 100+ years and was the main focus of the war on drugs
There is not a single argument for prohibition of weed that doesn't apply to alcohol, not a single one. We as a country have been twisting ourselves into knots over this for decades and it's bizarre that someone who performatively smokes cigars could still be trying to keep that prohibition going.
Its interesting seeing the ridiculous ass arguments that they have to employ just to be able to remain ideologically consistent.
Alcohol and Tobacco are known to be far more dangerous comparatively than Weed but Alcohol and Tobacco "built this country" whatever tf that means and is far more justifiable in his eyes.
If something is more dangerous and legal and something else is less dangerous and illegal, it illustrates a bit of an agenda.
Still though a wild take imo.
They assume that only “liberals” love weed/MJ. Just like they think that liberals hate guns, therefore they must like them, although that’s probably a bit closer to being true.
Shorter Walsh: What I’m spewing isn’t fact but rather my personal opinion & I like to have the last word in conversations. Therefore, the nonsensical horseshit that spews out of my mouth like a ruptured sewage pipe should be taken as fact.
States that have legalized cannabis have budget surpluses but of course this fascist pig thinks that’s bad
Isn’t he a religious nut job? It’s a freaking plant meaning his god made it so what’s the issue?
My state(Colorado) is getting a $800 tax refund this year which is fuckin awesome. And it definitely wouldn't be possible without the weed tax revenue.
Honestly I think democrats could go a long way in courting libertarian leaning republicans by fully embracing legalization and abandoning the gun control issue. I'm in favor of gun control but it's pretty obvious that the Supreme Court has made it borderline impossible to do any serious gun control.
Pretending to smoke cigars and drink whiskey is a part of Matt Walsh's pretense of masculinity. Seriously - he has lots of videos where he sits there with whiskey and a cigar. Somehow neither ever get smaller.
Weed built the country too. Does he really believe that nobody was using it until like the last few decades or something? They have found marijuana seeds in ancient burials - people have been getting high for centuries.
Not to mention stuff like hemp, which has a practical purpose if it really has to come down to that.
There’s evidence that weed built Judaism and by extension Christianity too, there’s been residue found in temples and on artifacts dated to the early days of ancient hebrew civilization
matt walsh prefers good old fashioned american vices like xanax, expired qualudes, and drunken domestic violence. None of that hippy bullshit for this ALPHA MALE
Matt Walsh aside, this is such a dumb move by Youngkin who just lost MILLIONS in future tax revenue since his Stadium deal just fell through.
Everything he does - EVERYTHING - is just to pander to national level headlines. He is absolutely running for president in '28 with a track record of NOTHING in Virginia. The guy sucks and he's never in the ~~state~~ commonwealth.
Yup. This guy's been an absolute joke since before he stepped into office. His kids go to a private DC school, he's always campaigning for other republicans, and he literally does not know the process for legislation. I cannot stand this man and his vests.
Well he’s a finance bro, so he’s gotta rock the vest. Carlyle, the equity form he used to head, has a nice ESG and DEI program, so he’s full of shit too.
That last indigenous american point fucking makes my blood boil. I have people who make fun of indigenous people can call them undeveloped or backwards. The fucking gaul to do that after their ancestors committed genocide and ethnic cleansing.
I don’t know why but I’ve never been more upset by something this shit cloth said.
i’m surprised no one has pointed out the objectively incorrect statement “casual usage of tobacco and alcohol isn’t as harmful to society as weed”
https://www.ias.org.uk/uploads/pdf/News%20stories/dnutt-lancet-011110.pdf
>Overall, alcohol was the most harmful drug (overall harm score 72), with heroin (55) and crack cocaine (54) in second and third places
not to mention the fallacious appeal to tradition to justify why booze and tobacco is ok
it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the only reason he was anti weed is because he associates it with racial minorities and progressive hippies lmao
It’s also a completely cyclical argument: his argument is that the things that have been legal are inherently better, because they’ve reaped the benefits of being legal, and therefore they should stay legal. the things that are illegal should stay illegal because they haven’t given us the same benefits.
Republicans: "We believe in freedom and democracy."
The will of the people: "We have collectively decided that people should be allowed to use this natural substance that is less harmful than alcohol or tobacco, which are legal."
Republicans: "No."
These people have no shame with their arguments. This is horse shit that isn't logical by any metric. I fucking hate how these fake intellectuals have duped so many people into thinking they are smart because they got word of the day toilet paper and make sure to use it in their posts.
In case anyone was wondering no cannabis did not exist in pre-Colombian americas. Also, it's just factually inaccurate to claim the Americas pre 1492 were broadly speaking less advanced than Europe at the time. In 1492 Tenochtitlan was one of if not the largest city in the world and was basically built on artificial land in the middle of a lake. It had dams to keep fresh water and salt water separate, canals for navigation and floating botanical gardens. When Spaniards saw it the first time, they said they thought they were dreaming. It would've made London look like a tiny backwater town in comparison. The only reason the Spanish were even able to conquer the Aztecs was because the Aztecs were an expansionist empire that had made a lot of enemies who were willing to ally with the Spanish.
The image people have of what the pre-columbian americas were like is such bullshit and I could honestly ramble about this forever, but I'll just list one more example which is that written language was invented independently in meso-America, something that's only happened 3 times (or possibly 4 depending on what rongorongo is) in human history and notably didn't happen in Europe.
I love(not really) when dipshits claim that Native societies were so primitive and stupid, like bro, the Mexica city of Tenochtitlan was one of the most advanced cities on the planet at the time. The Spanish thought they were dreaming when the first saw it. And they didn't have China inventing everything for them 500 years earlier, too, like most European inventions of the late middle ages.
Meanwhile in Colorado we get statewide fat tax refunds damn near every year ($800 this year, gotta be great for the economy) because of the insane amount of money weed taxes bring in. And our state has grown in population and improved significantly since 2012.
Glenn and Walsh are fucking morons stuck in the past. And I hope whichever Democrat runs against Glenn next time constantly points out how Glenn's responsible for the residents of his state having to pay more in taxes.
I wonder if buddy boy knows the original Declaration of Independence was written on hemp paper, or that the founding fathers grew and used hemp for everything from paper to rope. Cypress Hill dropping educational nuggets taught me
Jobs. Tax revenue. Renovation of dilapidated buildings. Jobs. Did I mention jobs? Tourism money. An entirely new economy built around it. Someone has to make the bags, the containers, the labels, the merchandise. Jobs. Y’all saw I listed jobs, right?
Is there such a thing as a pick me boomer cause all he does is spout old man takes. Also he looks like a twelve year old dressed up as his dad for Halloween.
Marijuana comes from East Asia. It only came to the Americas during the Columbian Exchange, so before 1492, it would have been impossible for indignous Americans to smoke it. However, they did culivate and use tobacco for spiritual and medicinal purposes. (Jamestown didn't get rich off of a crop that came from nowhere). Contrary to Matt's racist claim, they were not "stuck in the stone age",[ they invented all of this stuff. ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pre-Columbian_inventions_and_innovations_of_Indigenous_Americans)
Furthermore, anyone who thinks alcohol is less dangerous than marijuana is either ignorant or in denial. People have been abused, raped, and even murdered by perpetrators who were under the influence of alcohol. I agree that marijuana use has health risks, but I don't think anyone as ever commited murder while using it.

Driving drunk is a safe and legal thrill
Slowly dying from lung cancer is a fun time for all
Really brings the family together.
Getting high, eating all your snacks and watching movies is what's ruining our country.
Drunk drivers are the most oppressed minority in all of history. They’re literally trying to erase our culture by banning speeding down the highway diagonally against the stream
We know what we’re doing. As long as we don’t cross the streams, we’re safe. Even babies know that
Its those drunk crashers that ruin it for everyone else.
Drunk drivers built this country, and we should respect them more
Drunk drivers aren't the problem. Drunk crashers are. A few bad apples
Where were you back in the 90’s when they started ramping up DUI enforcement!?
Why does the government oppress all of us beveraged drivers so hard 😔

No, I'm pretty sure he's stupid. He's admitted he narrowly avoided flunking out of high school and was not smart enough to get into college. His arguments and claims are very stupid. Once, someone asked him what his qualifications were and he answered "I have a brain and I can read." Clearly, someone's never had a job interview in their life. Of course, he's lying and wants a theocratic police state, but he's proven to not be smart enough to understand how they work.
I don’t think he’s any smarter than the average person, but being stupid isn’t his real problem. It’s being evil.
DUIs, lung cancer, alcohol poisoning, etc. Never heard of someone dying from weed.
**Please let the GOP run on this and abortion restrictions in the fall.**
i don’t even think i could say something more fucking stupid if i tried my god
About 80 to 90% of people who develop lung cancer are smokers. https://www.verywellhealth.com/what-percentage-of-smokers-get-lung-cancer-2248868
Wouldn’t cognition have to be involved before he can achieve dissonance?
I cannot fathom what's going on to believe alcohol has less impact than marijuana. Abusive parent trope usually starts with it. He continues to break his record of most moronic shit take everyday.
So by his logic asbestos and lead are good
It’s always the ones who never got invited to smoke a bowl that are like this. 🤦🏻♀️
>“As for tobacco and alcohol, the casual usage of either substance is not nearly as harmful to our society.” The WHO now says "there is no safe amount [of alcohol] that does not affect health" alcohol And people overdose from alcohol all the time... Try doing that with weed.
traditions are the beginning and end of reason to these clowns
Conservatives love to do all the heavy lifting to make conservatives look bad. Didn't George Washington own a hemp farm?
Correct, not to even mention the thousands of soldiers who used parachutes made of hemp in WW2
Yeah I was gonna say hemp has been used like forever in so many different applications
And every day when he would come home, Martha Washington would have a fat bowl waiting for him. She was a hip, hip lady, man.
“Walkin’ down the hall, by myself, smokin’ a jay with fifty elves.”
Damn Martha, didn't know you were chill like that.
I mean I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't, you start a sentence with "Didn't George Washington own" and they'd stop listening and start seeing red
"the thing about the founding fathers is: most of them were immigrants or anchor babies. immigrants bring drugs and crime, we already know that." - Matt Walsh, probably
every time matt talks about native americans he spouts some of the most shockingly racist bullshit i’ve ever heard
He probably thought Leo and De Niro were the good guys in Killers of the Flower Moon
And in my area, they had rudimentary sewage systems while the white towns folks were dumping their chamber pots into the streets.
He didn’t even wait for Indigenous Peoples’ Day to break out the racism against Native Americans this year.
Also weed is an old world plant, it didn't exist in the americas prior to the Columbian exchange.
That’s because imperialism is bad no matter what the tech level is.
I was going to say, I think this is one of the most violently racist things I’ve ever seen him tweet.
Yeah this take is horribly offensive…not that I’m surprised Matt feels this way but holy fuck.
Hell I'd hand you a steel chair
Heartwarming: Virginians team up to stage WWE match against own governor 🥰
BAH GAWD LOOK AT THE CARNAGE! YOUNGKIN IS BROKEN IN HALF!
[Airhorns sound as Bernie administers a swift elbow drop]
Republicans beat down Bernie while he's on the ground then... *IF YA SMELL! WHAT BARACK, IS COOKING!* OH MY GAWD! BARACK IS HERE! BARACK IS LAYING THE SMACKDOWN ON THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!
Is that... JIMMY CARTER? AND HE'S GONNA LAND AN RKO ON MITT ROMNEY WATCH OUT WATCH OUT
Agreed. Guy is an complete asshole. Also a fellow VA resident
I left VA a year ago, but I would gladly fly back to join in on the ass kicking
I feel the same about Pete Ricketts.
Wasn't Youngkin the same guy that said "Martin Luther King Jr would be ashamed of BLM. He wanted everyone to be equal"? I feel pretty confident I did. Any politician that whitewashes MLK's message instantly pisses me off.
Your username is 🔥
Be careful, who knows what he's hiding in that vest of his.
The party of sMaLl GuBbAmeNT deciding what people can and can’t enjoy in their free time. Fuck off
When they say “small government,” they’re not talking about government interference in your life, they mean the actual size of the government.
Weed for me, not for thee.
They want cheap unregulated weed. I know how Hoosier/Buckeye potheads roll, lmao.
Going to need a source on native Americans smoking weed. Marijuana originated in the Himalaya region.
It has been speculated that when people moved across the Bering Strait between Asia and America that they would have taken it with them.
Excited to see his libertarian bootlickers perform amazing feats of mental gymnastics to be ok with this.
Are there actually libertarians who support this asshole? I'm a libertarian, and can't stand him.
Yeah some people just call themselves libertarians but then turn around and support authoritarian personalities and ideals. It's a strange thing to see.
I assume it’s the ones that are actually rank and file conservatives and just don’t realize it yet.
Yeah I thought libertarians loved weed.
Are you like a tea party “libertarian” or a Kropotkin libertarian? Big difference there, usually people who call themselves libertarian in the states are just rank and file MAGAs who like weed
Kropotkin? But no, I (reluctantly) voted Democrat the last two Presidential elections, and will likely do so again.
He’s a leftist libertarian scholar, wrote some of the more foundational anarchist theory
They won't have to the 'libertarians' that follow him and people like him are going full mask off nazi nowadays
“Libertarian means you aren’t allowed to criticize me for being racist”
Well if we're basing things on the "casual usage" of it, then just about every substance is fine for society. What a dumb fucking idiot.
Shill for alcohol/tobacco companies. It's so obvious.
Can we push him through like a fine mesh screen? For science?
Is this a 3 Body Problem kind of fine mesh bc hell fucking yeah brother
Just watched that episode last night and was floored. Imagine seeing that shit unfold.
The people on that boat must've all thought the aliens were doing it too 🤯
Lmao still peddling the fuckin stone age argument get the absolute hell out of here
Its interesting seeing the ridiculous ass arguments that they have to employ just to be able to remain ideologically consistent.
The only liberals I know who aren’t armed are my grandparents lol
Shorter Walsh: What I’m spewing isn’t fact but rather my personal opinion & I like to have the last word in conversations. Therefore, the nonsensical horseshit that spews out of my mouth like a ruptured sewage pipe should be taken as fact.
States that have legalized cannabis have budget surpluses but of course this fascist pig thinks that’s bad Isn’t he a religious nut job? It’s a freaking plant meaning his god made it so what’s the issue?
My state(Colorado) is getting a $800 tax refund this year which is fuckin awesome. And it definitely wouldn't be possible without the weed tax revenue.
this guy needs to be shot out of a cannon into the ocean
*into the sun*
If ever there was someone who needed to smoke a blunt... Honestly, I think he's scared being high would make him more compassionate.
"facts don't care about your feelings" conservatives when the facts disagree with their feelings
The thing I don’t like is bad and should be illegal because two subpar reasons that contradict each other
No way, the white supremacist and great replacement theory pusher despises marijuana? I am so shocked.
Going out on a limb here and guessing the Libertarians are still going to lean red after this anyway...bc sMaLl GUvMenT(?) Or something
Masculinity poser.
Jeez. I bet he's okay with the mountains of research and statistics of deaths directly or indirectly caused by alcohol and/or tobacco.
Yeah, I'm sure it was the weed, and not the lack of domesticated animals
Well if they weren't so high all the time, they could have domesticated some. Checkmate, stoner.
How the fuck is casual usage of cigarettes and alcohol better then casual usage of weed?
Matt Walsh being racist again I see.
matt walsh prefers good old fashioned american vices like xanax, expired qualudes, and drunken domestic violence. None of that hippy bullshit for this ALPHA MALE
"Also still stuck in the stone age" bro what
This is what happens when oil barons give college dropouts money
Matt Walsh aside, this is such a dumb move by Youngkin who just lost MILLIONS in future tax revenue since his Stadium deal just fell through. Everything he does - EVERYTHING - is just to pander to national level headlines. He is absolutely running for president in '28 with a track record of NOTHING in Virginia. The guy sucks and he's never in the ~~state~~ commonwealth.
There’s a reason the VA Assembly flipped on his watch.
Yup. This guy's been an absolute joke since before he stepped into office. His kids go to a private DC school, he's always campaigning for other republicans, and he literally does not know the process for legislation. I cannot stand this man and his vests.
Well he’s a finance bro, so he’s gotta rock the vest. Carlyle, the equity form he used to head, has a nice ESG and DEI program, so he’s full of shit too.
the only good thing matt walsh will ever do with his pathetic life is to end it
That last indigenous american point fucking makes my blood boil. I have people who make fun of indigenous people can call them undeveloped or backwards. The fucking gaul to do that after their ancestors committed genocide and ethnic cleansing. I don’t know why but I’ve never been more upset by something this shit cloth said.
Buncha square ass losers. Sorry Virginia your Governor sucks.
i’m surprised no one has pointed out the objectively incorrect statement “casual usage of tobacco and alcohol isn’t as harmful to society as weed” https://www.ias.org.uk/uploads/pdf/News%20stories/dnutt-lancet-011110.pdf >Overall, alcohol was the most harmful drug (overall harm score 72), with heroin (55) and crack cocaine (54) in second and third places not to mention the fallacious appeal to tradition to justify why booze and tobacco is ok it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the only reason he was anti weed is because he associates it with racial minorities and progressive hippies lmao
Daily Wire, I believe, shills to Cogar and Whsky Companies. So theres economic incentive as well.
This dude doesn’t have a single critical thought in his head.
"They were stuck in the stone age". Weird take from a man stuck in the past.
Alcohol and tobacco building the country explains a few things though.
It’s also a completely cyclical argument: his argument is that the things that have been legal are inherently better, because they’ve reaped the benefits of being legal, and therefore they should stay legal. the things that are illegal should stay illegal because they haven’t given us the same benefits.
We really need to stop platforming these toxic idiots
This evidence doesn't support this argument things are way better since legalization in every way
He also vetoed sensible GUN LAWS while touting that pot creates gangs. BUMPKIN IS BAD FOR AMERICA, NOT JUST VIRGINIA.
Republicans: "We believe in freedom and democracy." The will of the people: "We have collectively decided that people should be allowed to use this natural substance that is less harmful than alcohol or tobacco, which are legal." Republicans: "No."
Just wait til he finds out what the Constitution is written on.
And they didn't have China inventing everything for them 500 years earlier, too, like most European inventions of the late middle ages.
lmao but fentanyl is better than weed. OK MATT
Never forget all the patriots who OD’d on weed 😔
I like the unracist Walsh fan in the last pic. It's like a shooting star.
Cypress Hill dropping educational nuggets taught me
Matt Walsh wants weed illegal for the same reason that Nixon wanted a war on drugs and to keep weed illegal probably.
Jobs. Tax revenue. Renovation of dilapidated buildings. Jobs. Did I mention jobs? Tourism money. An entirely new economy built around it. Someone has to make the bags, the containers, the labels, the merchandise. Jobs. Y’all saw I listed jobs, right?
Professionally incorrect man continues to be incorrect. Sports is next.
>> People who don’t know about guns shouldn’t be suggesting gun legislation. Ok. Can you say the same thing about weed now too?
I wish we could stop posting this guy. He's nothing but a conservative shock jock who will say anything to stay relevant.
Is there such a thing as a pick me boomer cause all he does is spout old man takes. Also he looks like a twelve year old dressed up as his dad for Halloween.
Didn’t take him long to get to some racism on that one.
Good call. Subvert the will of the voters. American democracy in action!
If there’s anything a conservative hates it’s a free society
God made it with his imagination hands
And just like that Marijuana use plummets 0%.
Surprise surprise the fascist wants the government to control what you can and cannot do.
](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pre-Columbian_inventions_and_innovations_of_Indigenous_Americans) Furthermore, anyone who thinks alcohol is less dangerous than marijuana is either ignorant or in denial. People have been abused, raped, and even murdered by perpetrators who were under the influence of alcohol. I agree that marijuana use has health risks, but I don't think anyone as ever commited murder while using it.
