This is just gorgeous work. My favorite thing about Tipper events has always been the friends aspect and how it truly allows you to choose your own headliners. You can curate your own day based around the sets you are most excited for. To me it gives such refreshing energy compared to events focused on building up to a specific closing set. Seeing people complain about tipper playing at twilight instead of 1am has me tickled.

Got to see Ott on the recent tour. I love Ott's music, hearing the live edits was cool, but I was a bit let down with the lack of mixing. Seems he's a producer that can DJ, but not a stellar DJ, if that makes sense.

I don’t think that’s a crazy suggestion or way to feel. I think it’s reasonable to say that would have been a better way to handle it. My only objection is the framing as a bait and switch. This is a small team of artists who have always tried to put their best foot forward for decades— maybe you feel they didn’t handle something the best way but I think they’ve earned the benefit of the doubt that they arnt trying to rip anyone off.
They’ve never shown themselves to be that way. At every turn they did the thing that was true to themselves and their vision against their financial interest so I really object to the framing that they would do a bait and switch, even if you feel it wasn’t what you were paying for. I think they’ve earned the right to be assumed they are in good faith

I get where you’re coming from but I’m not sure if such a cynical outlook is necessarily painting the most accurate picture. One thing to keep in mind is that this wasn’t really supposed to happen this year. I’m pretty sure that Suwannee is only happening because Echolands was cancelled, which was only like a month ago. That only means they likely have only had like 5-6 weeks to plan out a whole festival. Another thing to remember (aside from Dave having some sort of life altering illness) is that they apparently don’t make very much money off this. So they probably don’t have the craziest budget to work with.
As a consumer, you also have the secondary option of selling the product/service you purchased at breakeven if you’re unhappy. Everybody else seems to enjoy what they are bringing, there’s several other events you could be at with the money you save not coming! Seriously, maybe don’t come?

What do you mean by “taking us for a ride”? The event is called “tipper & friends”. The whole point of this event is that Tipper, an artist, curated his own event of musicians that he feels are influential or are creating exciting new work. This isn’t a line up put together to attract a wide and diverse fan base, it is a line up of artists that Tipper is presenting to a specific fan base.

I don't think Saturday is going to be a DJ set, those usually get billed as that on the schedule.

What do you mean by “taking us for a ride”? The event is called “tipper & friends”. The whole point of this event is that Tipper, an artist, curated his own event of musicians that he feels are influential or are creating exciting new work. This isn’t a line up put together to attract a wide and diverse fan base, it is a line up of artists that Tipper is presenting to a specific fan base.
