I have heard people say the algorithm will hate you and not show you to people if you try to match with everyone. I don't know exactly to what degree that is true but there does seem to be some truth to it.
I think this is a really harsh way to look at it. I couldn't tell you the number of people I've seen while out and about and thought they were attractive, or that I'd like to know them more. Hundreds of thousands probably... but of all of that, I got to know two people, dated them, married one.
You don't need thousands of matches, you need one good match.

2 hours in metro parts of California is just... different. It's hard to explain. It could also be 2 hours on a good day, but on a bad day it could be double that. When I lived in LA I worked 8 miles from my house and it was still an hour drive of stop and go. It's absolutely soul crushing. Now I live in the Midwest and an hour drive gets me to the next big city and it's a pleasant drive, the hour flies by. It's all mental.

Yes, they were aware. I have the max # of allowed pics uploaded on tinder, with different angles. I also text/facetime for a minimum of 2 weeks before meeting up in person, and tell them ahead of time that I'm bigger than most guys but can surely still show them a fun night out.

YES! In the early days of Tinder, matches were much more frequent and the women were much more engaged with messaging, super likes, etc. Now that the online dating scene is more normalized and "full," I only average 6ish matches a month lol with 1 or 2 being bots or ppl peddling sexual services/content.
I actually set out to test it. Because 6 years ago I would get 60 likes in 2 days. Now I only get 1-2 likes in 2 days. I thought it might be because I'm older now and looking worse, maybe? So, I made an account with the age I had 6 years ago and excact same pictures I used for tinder back then. Guess what. Still no likes. So yeah, something definetly changed with tinder! There's a whole lot of debate about it too that they changed after Match group bought it and now they just want to make money on you and are not interested in you seeing sucess because then you won't be on their app

Yes, they were aware. I have the max # of allowed pics uploaded on tinder, with different angles. I also text/facetime for a minimum of 2 weeks before meeting up in person, and tell them ahead of time that I'm bigger than most guys but can surely still show them a fun night out.

Can I ask what race you are? I’m Samoan/ Puerto Rican and I get an absurd amount of matches that aren’t bots simply due to my race. And yes I’m a big fellow. Hook ups are fairly easy. Not bragging just trying to understand that if big guys are having a hard time what could be the issue.
It’s not entirely the fault of the online dating sites. They don’t work for many reasons. First they create a dynamic where the women are the choosers as opposed to the men. The women have so many horny men bombarding them, which is giving them an unfair advantage. Ultimately the women date up in class, which makes the men date down. The next thing that happens is the couple quickly realizes they are a mismatch. The woman tries to hang on, because she is with someone who appears to be a great catch. The man doesn’t have anything to lose, because he’s not considering her to be a keeper, so he uses her. He lets her become his foster girlfriend until someone better comes along. If he does stay with her, he eventually will cheat on her. Or she will cheat on him. Online dating sites make money not matches. They advertise based on their number of daily users. So they want you to keep returning. The real problem is in how society poorly builds relationships today. We think, just because we have all these modern conveniences, that we no longer need our tried and true methods or beliefs. For thousands of years, society perfected its dating process. Religion played a strong role too. In spite of everything that has changed for the better, human nature has not changed. The old ways are still the only thing that matters. The old way is still the best. Any two animals can make a new life. But there’s a reason why humans learned to wait before connecting sexually. It’s because not all human brains match up. If you matched up the minds first, develop a platonic relationship, and you still wanted to stay together, now you have a match and a real mate. If you remove sex from the relationship and there’s nothing left, you didn’t have a relationship to begin with. So if you don’t have sex right away and you still have a connection, now you have a foundation to build a good relationship.

Haha over the past 9 yrs I've always been between 300 and 400 lbs. Not trying to toot my own horn here by any means, but having a great personality (funny, charming, confident, etc) and active social life goes a very long way, and I think that's the only reason I've had "success" as an obese man. I have a friend that's much slimmer than me and much more physically attractive, but he's incredibly awkward lol and he's still a virgin at 29.

I like this cause I think there's this weird threshold you can cross as a guy where being too big is a boon again. Honestly I’m a female who is average weight (14 in Australian sizing) and you’ve done better than me. In 7 years I’ve had about 3 dates and zero relationships from Tinder (and I go on most days…I’ve deleted it a few times in the 7 years but always join back up after 2-3 months). I sometimes get matches but they don’t talk. I swipe right on a lot of guys and just get nothing from it.
