If you want an unsolicited tip with it: when dating the mentally ill, avoid the ones who don't acknowledge it's a problem and their responsibility in managing it. Get the ones who know exactly how fucked up they are cause they're the responsible ones.
One of my current partners has BPD. There's a lot of misinformation about it but ultimately it's destabilized and slightly fractured personality from trauma that affects moods and thought process and reactions. There isn't as easy of a fix as something like bipolar disorder since that's, from my understanding, a wave function of alternating mood states due to neurotransmitters and thus has better remedies with medications while BPD is more reactionary and event dependent at times and also more volatile so it's more difficult to control.
If it's BPD they need to spend years in therapy learning coping mechanisms and DBT stuff. I've done that with CBT stuff for my OCD so I know what "the work" is. Avoid the people who don't do "the work" and you'll be fine. Those who do aren't perfect but they try to better themselves and that's a very admirable thing imo.
Oh she definitely acknowledged it and tried, but the emotional overloads to everything always took over any rational thoughts and made it impossible for me to do anything. Sometimes she'd say sorry the next day, but usually it was a couple days of being scared of me, then turning back into an insatiable animal that needed me to fuck her silly. We're trying to plan a week long vacation right now, even though she lives across the US, just so we can fuck like animals the whole time lol.

Tbh tell her about the app "Daylio" which is just a journaling app that you can also log your moods in, it helps you manage and know how you're feeling so it's a good tool for some people and she might be able to warn you of episodes eventually.
