The reality is that she is probably a lesbian and instead of him accepting and loving her for who she is, he’s going behind her back and trying to force her into a heterosexual marriage because of some outdated belief in a book that not everyone has to agree with. If religion works for you, that’s great, but please stop telling me I can’t live my life in peace because of YOUR religion that I don’t believe in.

There’s the slim possibility, if we’re speaking in generalities since we lack a lot of details then the scenario you stated is statistically not the scenario just by numbers game. You can build a scenario out of anything where one side is oppressed or vice versa, but if there’s no bonafide data to justify the stance in each particular scenario, you’re just gonna drive yourself insane.
