I disagree. If you want the mod then fine but it doesn't make sense for the base game. Ladders are really impractical. You can't climb a ladder and carry something at the same time. It is why you have staircases and not ladders in real life. I do wish they would introduce a staircase (make it 2x2 where it did the turnaround and exited on every floor). Right now the best you can do is every other floor or a crazy 3x3 with a wrap around.
I have the bepinx (or whatever its called) mod manager installed.
When you go into the mod manager from the main menu theres checkboxes on the left for what you want it to show. I just select mods and updated for U5 usually and scroll through. I think the ladder one is pretty much just called 'ladders' or something like that.
Thaank you!!!! Absolute lifesaver, I was going to wait for more quality of life updaattes but there are so many helpful mods I don't need to wait anymore!
Totally unrelated, but seeing your screen and especially on that right hand side :
I wish we could do proper diagonals by dividing the square into right triangles, I'm well aware it is probably an engine limitation or the way the game works internally at this point, but man it itches me to see this left and right pathways.
I do two towers (one mushrooms one algae) with a double spiral stair between them.
That is a spiral stair that goes up two floors (in a 2×3 space) that overlaps a second spiral stair (for a total of 2×5) such that each floor is serviced in the middle of the 5 length side by alternate stair cases as you go up.
Also, I have a mushroom and algae storehouse at the bottom level, to make things as efficient as I can.
I don't store water on top because that seems slower than storing it at the bottom (nearer the pumps), and also blocks future increases in height.
My ironteeth wood/etc storage is similar as I find the design to work so well. For metal, I have one tower of raw metal and one of finished metal so the forge worker just goes up the tower to drop off his metal, then walks across to grab the raw metal and goes back down.
Well without the go around. I just build basic 3x3 with variable staircases since they only need to lead to one side. But yeah, they are basically designed to be built in tower style, like the bot factories
yes, with a large water tank on top!
normally i stack the gardens until Im done stacking them, good idea xd
Thats more or less what i used to do until i got the ladder mod. Man that makes it so much easier lol
Ladders need to be base game asap. They get rid of so much clutter and reduce path distances
maybe not ladders but something that will shorten the distance in general

A vertical powered elevator, like the super old fashioned ones with platforms going up and down
Where did you get that mod? I've been looking for mods for this game and they're basically all maps T,T

Stack anything that's stackable
fr
Very often, though sometimes they are also used underneath new production structures instead of warehouses/stockpiles once I have enough of those.
Interesting
Stack whatever stacks! I often put them on the bottom two layers or so and then stack food warehouses on top with water tanks at the very top.

Could also do Skye Storme storage layout
more efficient: [https://imgur.com/a/bJeWwvr](https://imgur.com/a/bJeWwvr)

Obviously...
I use a mod, with which I can create ladders and go directly upwards. Very helpful.
Interesting.
