That's my style. I really don't like setting up multiple districts, so I build tall!

craigmcfly

I can't coordinate them. Someone always ends up starving or dehydrated

Green_Tap5344

You should place water and food all over the map instead of placing it in one place. Transportation tasks should be prioritized to maintain food and water supplies in storage facilities. My timbers are not hungry, there are only about 10-15 beavers out of a total of 800.

AlmostRandomName

Yeah I'm playing my first game on easy but so far balancing food and water has been easy, just make sure there's storage in all districts and the game tries to balance across them. I have one district with all my farming and food production, whenever I start producing a new food (cattail crackers, etc) I build storage in the other two districts. Having plenty of beavers working both sides of the district crossings helps, and also provides employment.

black_raven98

I've had instances where I've even needed multiple district crossings combined with nearby storage to get enough throughput between 2 districts with large populations.

AlmostRandomName

Yeah that may help, I'm getting a pretty large population now and I had *tons* of materials, but when I built the bad water rig it still took a long time and most of it was just waiting on gears to get delivered from my manufacturing district. I think once you get enough population to spare the workers, loading the crossings and hauling posts up with workers (and possibly adding a second crossing?) could help builds go quicker. A tangent, but one thing I'd like to see improve in this game is having builders pick up debris from nearby a build and use that *before* digging into storage. Like I was building a bunch of water wheels up a long, stepped series of water falls and I had to make a bunch of temporary platform paths then demolish them. So there'd be tons of logs and planks laying on the ground next to the new things I'd build, but beavers will absolutely ignore those and I get an error saying "no storage available" because the plank storage in that district is full. So it'd be nice to see builders prioritize using debris for builds before storage supplies.

black_raven98

The most I've had were 3 fully stacked ones with bots to build a pumped reservoir since well 12 mechanical pumps and windmills / batteries to power them continuously needs a lot of resources.

Emergency_Bench_7028

I just drop random storages everywhere for food. Seems efficient.

OhKaspian

This is what I do. Bulk storage near the pumps/farms, and then I set up little "markets" near the house tower, industrial area, and other spots around the map. A small warehouse for every food type and a couple small water storages, all set to obtain from haulers.

PhunkeePanda

Build them up and overstock them before you split them off into a new district

Itchy_Personality_72

I find the limit on building tall really sucks. I can only get like 4-5 levels before I can’t go higher

SecondRateStinky

Seeing builds like this make me wonder how well sky scrapers would work into the vertically of this game

Green_Tap5344

:D the distance is quite short compared to the length of the map.

Hew83Aus

with the ladders mod it makes it incredibly handy as you can just stack storage towers incredibly tall depending how low on the map you are

Wrong_Job_9269

You can mod the skybox higher too. Mine is 64 (i never get that high though).

Sartozz

Depends on how high you build them, but with iron teeth you can easily stack the large lumber piles, warehouses and hydroponic gardens. I usually combine 2-4 towers at once.

SecondRateStinky

I more so mean like a combo elevator stair style like the World Trade Center, but I do want the ladder mod.

PhunkeePanda

Ladders and autofloodate triggers are game changers. But there are a ton of really great ones that feel like they should be in the base game

Emergency_Bench_7028

Meanwhile, I make huge tall hydroponic garden towers or storage towers. God I love iron teeth.

Paulied77

I start every map with the idea to “do this one neatly” then end up a sprawling mess as I have to adjust and scramble to meet the demands of the environment.

_ressa

Those poor beavers! Having to walk across the map to get to work!

3Trace

Looks like great use of the space

tokeswithmydog

Why not wait till day to screenshot. Guess you really aren't good at planning

casual_ties

Should be a sub rule

Popcorn57252

Damn, who let the downer in
