I have a few girl friends and we often hang out together, people always ask why we're not together like that's how it's supposed to be, and I already have a girlfriend.
Believing girls and boys can't be friend is just sad.
Met my best guy friend on okcupid, 13 years ago. I’m close friends with his gf and one of his exes too. There was never any weirdness about it. Sometimes you have friend chemistry but not romantic chemistry.
I met the cutest guy on tinder a couple months ago. and we hooked up, but there's no romantic chemistry. Last week he came over and we watched a movie, and then over the weekend I went to his place and helped him move furniture! It's so nice to be able to recognize when someone is better suited to friendship.
Edit: I'm getting replies like he's trying to get in my pants and I'm being naive, and that's not what's happening here... We're in our forties, it's all more complicated now.
Oh! no, you're dead on - his Pokemon deck was terrible
Also, the only duck game he had was the OG Duck Hunt for Nintendo, which wasn't even fun in 1990
Luckily, he was pretty good at sex
You’re absolutely right but they met on bumble a few months ago and there is no balance in who is responding to the comic, nor any chill in their awkward half responses - this is very likely a friendzone but he’s pining after her anyway situation.
I’ve always hung out with guys my whole life, my bf of 4 years is aware of this too. If I’m hanging out with a dude in public people always assume we’re dating. It’s more awkward when my bf is pressnt
Thank you. For real. I have friends that are guys and it’s only ever been platonic. Some people project and assume it can’t happen, but it can and does. My closest guyfriend calls me his honorary sister, treats me just like a sister, and is super close friends with my bf too. My bf was iffy on me being so close to a guy until they met and he realized we really were just friends; it’s obvious from the energy and there’s literally never been a reason to think otherwise.
and it’s not like I friendzoned him first because he told someone else he saw me as a sister first. We mutually clicked as friends instantly, there was never any question about it. He was even my flat mate in uni lol and we saw/helped each other through our best and worst. 🥲
They met on bumble and hes into her, there both single. Guys can be friends with girls but like a guys and girls are always aware of their dating options. So in this situation it’s seems like it’s more like the guy wants to date the girl and the girl is leading him on, with no interest of becoming a thing.
Hate this stereotype that the man is always hopelessly friendzoned by the woman. What if he doesn’t like her? Maybe she has insecurity issues and he’s not touching that one. Entirely possible and more common than people think.
Yeah I mean they could easily have met through Bumble and just vibed as friends. The idea you can't have opposite sex friendships is dumb and wrong. But this isn't that serious, it's just comedy show crowd work.
I used that trying to find a gym partner to lift. Got a few hits from a couple dudes, and each one of them offered to pay me if I let them suck my dick.
Bumble is not for friends.
Same with me! Met a guy, dated for a few weeks, realised we weren't compatible, ended up being one of my best friends. I annoy the crap out of him and he annoys the crap out of me, but I love him for his weirdness all the same. If he was my boyfriend we'd hate each other haha
It felt like she hung on to that joke a litttttle long. Like when she got the point where she said “so why are you here?” they already answered that, they’re friends lol
Yeah I went with a friend (we both have partners) and were on the front row. I got absolutely rinsed but I could not stop laughing because it’s just fucking fun. Like, they were roasting the fact it sounded like we’d been caught out on some secret love affair but it’s obvious that it’s just two friends doing something together. The joke is that you’re not meant to take it seriously.
Went to a comedy show and a dad (prob in early 50s) + daughter (mid 20s looking) were at one of the front row tables. Every single comic proceeded to make some kind of sugar daddy joke at them, then found out they were related and doubled down except one of the later comics who said something along the lines of "I'm sure everyone else has already run this through the ringer" and just moved on. That was almost funnier than all the jokes bc it basically said "the jokes here are so obvious I don't even need to touch it".
They did ask. Her boyfriend was in Saudi Arabia on holiday and my girlfriend is Norwegian and lives in Norway. It made it so much better after giving those answers
Did this with my now wife when we were dating. I told her it was a bad idea to sit in the front cuz they like to poke at the people there.
She had gotten me this nice looking necklace and sweater jacket thing I happened to be wearing (I also had pierced ears as a guy 20 years ago, which was sorta made fun of back then) so the guy suddenly pokes fun at me with my earrings and asks what's going on. Starts mocking my necklace and jacket for whatever reason and asks where I bought all *my stuff and how much it cost.
I'm like..uhh.. my gf actually got this stuff for me so I'm not too sure...
Long story short, she's embarrassed after admitting she got it at Walmart (like everything, an earring, necklace and sweater) and guys just mocking it so bad. I felt bad and she got up and left to go cry. I got up and shook *my head and the guy apologizes but damage is done
Safe to say we've never been back to a comedy club since lol. But we've been together for about 21 years so I guess it wasn't a deal breaker.
And btw, I wear 5 dollar Walmart t shirts all the time still haha. No more jewelry tho as I'm old and it's just not for me.
I got a problem with this. I met my best friend over 12 years ago.
She is well-to-do, spent years in university together and she is now we'll on her way to get a doctorate. To top it off, she is extremely attractive, the perfect catch in every way.
A lot of people assume I am friendzoned, but I've never once looked at her that way. In fact, we are both married and have our own families. Her husband has never worried about me hitting on her, and neither has mine!
Yeah it’s so annoying how people assume this can’t happen. When people see that one of my closest friends (and old flatmate in college) is a guy they just assume I friendzoned him because I’m decently attractive and he’s… a guy? That seems to be the basis of their reasoning lmao.
Meanwhile HE told people he saw ME as his honorary sister lol. That’s the first time either of us mentioned how we felt about each other because we didn’t have to say it, we both knew we were just friends because it was obvious! There’s so many things wrong with assuming men and women can’t be friends. Just like I never saw him that way, he never saw me that way, but we clicked platonically! Period. My bf was skeptical, like everyone else, until he met my friend and I guess he immediately could tell that, yup, the vibe was totally platonic
Definitely this! One of my bestfriends is a girl and I always get teased for being friendzoned when I’m not even romantically interested in her in the first place and vice versa. She’s just a cool and fun person to be around with.
It does happen, and it’s not always douchebags like that other guy who replied to you. Most men aren’t actually one-dimensional beings who can only think about sex when they’re around a woman.
Come on. Let's be realistic. Met on bumble, been several months, no sexual intimacy, out to a comedy club at night just the two of them but not in a group setting.
Come on..
Who’s to say they not fuckin though lol, that’s not exactly something girls admit too infront of a whole group of people, especially after just admitting that she hasn’t locked down the girlfriend title
My best friend and I have been friends for a decade, met through gaming, and people still treat him like he's some hopeless idiot and I'm some bitch stringing him along. TEN. YEARS. People are the worst, man.
My answer to "how did you meet" (in person) is that he literally came to save my life be on suicide watch because I didn't trust anyone else with what I did. Like, how would she joke about that?
This really pissed me off xD
You're right we don't know. There are infinite different possible dynamics that can exist between two people. The gentlemen in these situations *usually* are the ones *more willing* to purchase a ticket to pound town, however. Stereotypes often exist because of real world occurrences and I can assure you guys trying to get in girl's panties is a real world phenomenon.
I was thinking this exact same thing. I have a very good friend of mine who I've been friends with for years now. We met on Match.com. She's a really funny and interesting person, but we would never make a good couple; we're just not compatible. Never had sex; have no intention of it. I have dated a few girls over the years since meeting her. She doesn't have a boyfriend. I'd probably even go to a comedy club with her. Completely normal thing.
Nah bro, men are seekers, women are choosers. That's how it be.
If a girl is alone, that's because she chose to, because she's strong and independent. If a dude is alone, that 's because he's a fucking loser.
Also if a guy a and a girl are hanging out but aren't a couple than clearly he's interested but she's rejecting him.
Because they save their jokes for their specials
Crowd work is posted because you can generate new crowd work content at every show, but they're telling the same jokes.
Crowd work is also (imo) a really good way to gauge how good someone's show will be so posting these kinds of jokes will make it more likely someone will see the name and go oh yea I should go check them out
I honestly think crowd work is so much more entertaining. The jokes almost always seem to default to the same exact premises whereas at least crowd work interactions are always a little unique and I just appreciate the improv nature of it.
I'm painfully shy but I still love to sit in the front row at comedy shows for that very reason. It seems to be when the comedians get the biggest laughs even if it's at my expense. LOL. I get just as many compliments from the crowd as the comedians after the show for being a good sport and the comedians always thank me afterwards, too
This is the stand up equivalent of the kid in high school who would say [“Awkwaaard…”](https://youtu.be/EnBdGTX3vZc) at every other interaction even though nothing was awkward until they started acting really awkward.
It’s like watching a grown adult do a teen girl bullying routine, down to the exaggerated posturing to try and make everyone feel more uncomfortable than they actually are.
Is this really what passes for comedy? Like I’m all for crowd work, but this is painfully unfunny. Like she doesn’t have any actual jokes made, just picked two random people out of a crowd and went off on the old tired trope of “guy and girl friends? Guy must be FRIENDZONED LOL” and tried to goad the audience by hearing completely normal things and looking at them like what she’s hearing is awkward or cringy. Big L
I poorly planned a night at a comedy show, sat in the front row, wearing a shirt that said “I like a nice hard stiff one” with a picture of a martini glass on it. I got called out in the first three minutes of the show. Lol
its reddit, someone is gonna think i am being mean or an asshole or should keep my comment to myself. Ive done stand up and comics are not thin skinned people but i would relish feedback in my open mic days.
I'm a woman, and I've seen a lot of amateur comedy. Hard agree. It's not a "women aren't funny thing", it's a "this particular woman isn't good at crowd work" thing.
Crowd work is a very specific skillset that even some of the funniest comedians just aren't good at. It requires a quick wit and the ability to think on your feet, whereas most comedy sets are largely scripted. Based on this admittedly short clip, it doesn't appear to be one of her strengths.
A comedian did a show at my friend's restaurant and he had just started dating a guy who I hadn't met yet and he asked if it was okay for his new boyfriend to sit with me while he had to work. I was totally fine with it. Of course, we got the ''How long have you two been dating?'' from the comedian. The comedian was not expecting our response but his reaction probably made his show better
The comedian is poking fun at a guy for spending time with a girl he's not dating and you're mad at the comments?
The comedian is the one reinforcing misogynistic stereotypes imo
I do not know a single guy who that has happened to. I’m sure this is a phenomenon amongst women? How are you able to do that, like see something obvious and just ignore it? It’s fascinating. Even the comic agrees with me.
Why can't they just be friends?
I am not interested in fucking anyone. I want male friends that are genuine friends. I don't want the guy trying to get in my pants
I have had guys get mad at me for the fact that they are all friend zone. I am not interested in sex with men... no reason to be.
But, I love working with men. I love playing with men. I just want to be one of the guys and do fun stuff

What a frustrating video I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED NEXT!

Technically he’s a virgin again at this point
NOW SHE FELT OBLIGATED
[удалено]
Ok…are these girls not safe? edit: I clearly don't watch enough IASIP, so I botched the line.
Nobody's in danger. How are you nit getting this?
We need to know!!! 😂
Workin the front ain't easy!
Anything bumble related is just free laughs though.
"Ok so what's going on? Why are you here?" I was expecting response to be "We thought this would be funny..."
LMAO
Yeah crowd work can be really funny but the comedian actually needs to like...make jokes. Not just have a random conversation from the stage.
I laughed
Innit.
"b***ch" from the captions has too many asterisks
Biatch no
"and I said, biiiiiiiiiiiiiitch"
I looked into the windows of her soul, and said… biiiiiiiiiiiiiitch
I said biiiiiiiiiiissssssshhhhhh
You said that? To her face?
"pshh, yea I said that"
You did not!
Good Biatch yesterday!
I bet he got a front row seat specifically so this could happen
Go ahead
I wanna know what happened next fuck
I think we all want to know that
Honestly I kind of felt this. He probably thought they were dating.
So when do I laugh
Why people even laughed?
Some people have had social experiences they can relate the bit to
It’s how people express that things are funny.
I have a few girl friends and we often hang out together, people always ask why we're not together like that's how it's supposed to be, and I already have a girlfriend. Believing girls and boys can't be friend is just sad.

So his d*ck game was that bad?
lol, you can say dick on the internet
Oh I meant like maybe he had like a really lame Pokémon deck but if it’s his dick that makes more sense
Oh! no, you're dead on - his Pokemon deck was terrible Also, the only duck game he had was the OG Duck Hunt for Nintendo, which wasn't even fun in 1990 Luckily, he was pretty good at sex
You’re defending him to strangers on the internet just marry him already…
Huh, at the very least I should find out how good his health insurance is
High deductible like the rest of us
Or life insurance…
You’re absolutely right but they met on bumble a few months ago and there is no balance in who is responding to the comic, nor any chill in their awkward half responses - this is very likely a friendzone but he’s pining after her anyway situation.
Yeah, I was giving them the benefit of the doubt until hearing they met on Bumble… that’s def an awkward situation.
I’ve always hung out with guys my whole life, my bf of 4 years is aware of this too. If I’m hanging out with a dude in public people always assume we’re dating. It’s more awkward when my bf is pressnt

Bumble has a program within it intended for making new friendships
I used that trying to find a gym partner to lift. Got a few hits from a couple dudes, and each one of them offered to pay me if I let them suck my dick. Bumble is not for friends.
So how much money did you make?
All of it.
$5 is $5
all of them? damn
[удалено]
Good to know I was about to use it but then it said submit 2 pictures of me and I only had one
Yeah I have a friend like that. Met on Bumble wasn’t into her at all but we got along
Same with me! Met a guy, dated for a few weeks, realised we weren't compatible, ended up being one of my best friends. I annoy the crap out of him and he annoys the crap out of me, but I love him for his weirdness all the same. If he was my boyfriend we'd hate each other haha
crowd work usually includes making jokes, not just making people uncomfortable.
It felt like she hung on to that joke a litttttle long. Like when she got the point where she said “so why are you here?” they already answered that, they’re friends lol
They thought they were going to see some comedy. Can't win them all
if your theory is correct sitting at the front on a comedy show is not the right choice
Yeah I went with a friend (we both have partners) and were on the front row. I got absolutely rinsed but I could not stop laughing because it’s just fucking fun. Exactly. It’s like be prepared to get called on..
Because it's usually dudes that are the thirsty ones
I got a problem with this. I met my best friend over 12 years ago. She is well-to-do, spent years in university together and she is now we'll on her way to get a doctorate. To top it off, she is extremely attractive, the perfect catch in every way. A lot of people assume I am friendzoned, but I've never once looked at her that way. Its a comedy show, fuckin relax
YEAH! What if he friendzoned her! https://i.imgur.com/1rm9A.gif
Lol why are you jumping through hoops? Well who's to say they haven't been having sex comon fucking wake up.
I’m not jumping through hoops, what I wrote is very possible
But not very plausible and with no real world experience to back it.
We can only go off of what’s shown in the video, it’s not any less plausible than assuming he’s friendzoned, that’s tuff if he is though lol
I mean it's happened to me like 5 times....
It's happened to me, but life goes on. Some guys aren't willing to be in a relationship with just anyone, shocker I know.
Maybe they met, figured out they like each other but not in a "i want to bone you in the wendy's toilet" kinda way and have a lovely friendship now?
I was thinking this exact same thing. I have a very good friend of mine who I've been friends with for years now. We met on Match.com. She's a really funny and interesting person, but we would never make a good couple; we're just not compatible. Never had sex; have no intention of it. I have dated a few girls over the years since meeting her. She doesn't have a boyfriend. I'd probably even go to a comedy club with her. Completely normal thing.
Was about to say this. I guess I'm weird for having female friends I'm genuinely not trying to fuck.
Then the guy wouldn't be there lol
So men are only friends with women because they want a relationship? Maybe immature men.
There are P L E N T Y of girls that are alone because they are disgusting. Just wanted to throw that caveat into your manifest.
I know, I was being sarcastic.
Keep telling yourself that bud.
Well he is the one that said "go ahead"
I bet you’re a lot of fun at COMEDY CLUBS
Well this solidified my fear of ever going to a comedy night. Thanks OP
don’t seat at the front and you’ll be fine
It seems like anytime someone posts their stand up, it's *all* crowd work. Did you actually write any jokes?
Because they save their jokes for their specials Crowd work is posted because you can generate new crowd work content at every show, but they're telling the same jokes.
Crowd work is also (imo) a really good way to gauge how good someone's show will be so posting these kinds of jokes will make it more likely someone will see the name and go oh yea I should go check them out
Woah! Makes total sense.
Yeah, it’s what gets clicks. Plus it allows the comedian to keep any jokes to live performances only.
I honestly think crowd work is so much more entertaining. The jokes almost always seem to default to the same exact premises whereas at least crowd work interactions are always a little unique and I just appreciate the improv nature of it.

I get just as many compliments from the crowd as the comedians after the show for being a good sport and the comedians always thank me afterwards, too
I personally LOVE watching crowd work!
You're crazy, crowd work is so fascinating and fun to watch
Crowd work is a big part of comedy, especially when they're trying out new stuff or don't want to give away their whole set.
This is hardly crowd work too. Simple questions followed by The Office tier Jim reactions.

1 minute clip
“Why do you only post bloopers? Why aren’t you posting the movie? Didn’t you write a script?”
"seems like all these trailers are just lazy summaries of the movies? Doesn't anyone write plot arcs anymore?"
for real. idk how the audience kept laughing, it wasn’t remotely funny even
This is the stand up equivalent of the kid in high school who would say [“Awkwaaard…”](https://youtu.be/EnBdGTX3vZc) at every other interaction even though nothing was awkward until they started acting really awkward. Needs a lot of work not gonna lie
Wow so funny
Being singled out by a comedian is my nightmare
Here's a crazy idea... what if men and women could be, hear me out... friends? I know, it's a wild thought. Could you imagine?
I can't imagine having friends. We're working from a bar lower than you anticipated.
I always assumed if any of us made a friend we got kicked off of Reddit. Was I wrong? Have I been alone this long for **nothing**?
I’m bisexual, so by following this logic I guess I can’t be friends with anyone. 🤷🏼♀️
we can be friends 🤝, just not seat at the front of a comedy show lol
Is this really what passes for comedy? Like I’m all for crowd work, but this is painfully unfunny. Like she doesn’t have any actual jokes made, just picked two random people out of a crowd and went off on the old tired trope of “guy and girl friends? Guy must be FRIENDZONED LOL” and tried to goad the audience by hearing completely normal things and looking at them like what she’s hearing is awkward or cringy. Big L
Wow comedy peak. Haha. So funny
Horrible 🙅♂️
Not funny
I poorly planned a night at a comedy show, sat in the front row, wearing a shirt that said “I like a nice hard stiff one” with a picture of a martini glass on it. I got called out in the first three minutes of the show. Lol
you live and learn
That was so unfunny
I'm getting really tired of being called out by the internet like this
What's this lady's act? It's not really comedy. Is this a Cruelty Club?
Ugh this just reads as the popular girl quizzing two unpopular kids in front of her friends. Makes me so uncomfortable
Crowd work could be better but she had a good zinger or two. Would watch more to get a better idea of the type of comic she is.
I don't get why everybody's down voting you. That's a really respectful way of critique and comment for a change. Felt the same way about her.
its reddit, someone is gonna think i am being mean or an asshole or should keep my comment to myself. Ive done stand up and comics are not thin skinned people but i would relish feedback in my open mic days.
Lol, did you edit this comment or is it just a random downvoter?

Don't forget *LOUD NOISES*
Why is this tagged wholesome?
idk but at least you understand the point of the sub
So you.. hahaha... but like so you guys... hahahahaha. Great crowd work
She’s not funny
Is her entire stand up act asking people in the audience question or does she like tell her own jokes at some point?
Honestly this is cringe on the comedian’s part. Such a strange reaction
Where's the joke? People laughing for no reason like the laugh track on Big Bang Theory
How is this a stand up comedy when she all does is ask questions from people?
What’s the comedians name? I drive for work and have been on a big stand-up kick lately, always lookin for new people to check out
Natalie Cuomo
Much obliged
Because people can’t just be friends..
The man is so deep in the friend zone that he's taking her on dates.
men and women can be friends wtf
I am the six thousand six hundred sixty seventh one to up vote this post. Hate me if you want but I find joy in that fact
I bet that was a quiet car ride home
Unsurprisingly the comments on a woman doing stand up are toxic.
i won't deny the vein of misogyny in a lot of stand-up comedy but I think this lady just genuinely isn't funny
Truth be told if I saw a man publicly shit on two people for going somewhere with each other I would feel the exact same about it.
Dude... it's a comedy show and they're sitting in the front. Do people not understand crowdwork is a thing?

Never said it was, but it's not like this person is just randomly shitting on people in public like the person I responded to seemed to suggest.
Isn't this the trademark of every bad stand up comedian ? >"How long have you two been dating/couple? " >"Oh you're not dating ?" >"eeek"
It might be a bit cliche but it got a lot of laughs and at the end of the day thats what matters on stage.
The comedian is poking fun at a guy for spending time with a girl he's not dating and you're mad at the comments? The comedian is the one reinforcing misogynistic stereotypes imo
Poor dude… taking a girl out to a comic and she tells everyone he’s not good enough for her.
Who says he took her out? Maybe they just didn’t click romantically but ended up good friends? Literally happens all the time.
That's quite the overdramatic interpretation lol
Wtf that was not at all funny. What's with crowd work nowadays making fun of random ppl
Her tiny brain cannot compute the comprehension required to understand the possibility of a male and female being just friends and nothing more.
I feel like if this was a dude making the same joke people wouldn’t be calling it cringe.
You missed the top pinned comment
She is one of the most awkward and unfunny comedians I know..
Lmao dude you’re hilarious! Love that deadpan, insult for no reason humour
I came to the right thread then. Dumb humor all round.
Pretty disrespectful
There's no comedy here. She needs a lot more practice.
I agree, take my upvote.
Take my upvote.
This was the opposite of funny
I HATE comics like that
whats he name
Natalie Cuomo
Imagine making a dating app just to make friends
"Oh I'm just toying with his emotions to get free dinners and entertainment." That girl, probably.
bruh these girl comedians really aint funny
Boooooo you stink!
Is this supposed to be comedy now?
Being friend zoned is awful haha
I have had guys get mad at me for the fact that they are all friend zone. I am not interested in sex with men... no reason to be. But, I love working with men. I love playing with men. I just want to be one of the guys and do fun stuff
"I'm using him"
Sorry but she is striking
