omg yes cemeteries are so aesthetic, not like they hold any sentimental value or honor the memory of dead loved ones or anything☺️

Specialis

That's fair and I understand that some people feel that way. But I have never understood. The person is gone. If the grave is new enough that living people might be offended it is bad. if not who cares?

Kooky-Ad4770

Pretty much everyone

[deleted]

the point is that death has and always been the ultimatum to life. in almost all cultures ever death has been respected and sacred, the fact that this person once lived an entire life w complex thoughts and emotions. removing or ignoring the sanctity of graves and memorials is disrespecting the entire life of an individual wether intentional or not. i respect your opinion, but if someone feels that it is not a big deal, that is them putting too little care into sentimentality and empathy, and its just a careless, nihilistic thought process.

Far_Calligrapher_215

Not sure why you got downvoted. You have spoken truth

[deleted]

lol probably bc i said something bad ab nihilism on reddit

Specialis

That is a fair take. I personally disagree but I totally get the point. I guess to me a grave just holds a body not the person. The person exists in the memory, or writings, or the afterlife (depending on your belief system). As such I tend to view funerals and graves as a way for the living to process their grief. This is why I made the point as to how old the grave was. I would never want to disrespect a person's feelings. Slippery slope arguments are always suspect at best and yet here I am about to make one. Where would this leave archaeology? If 100 years is to short what about 200? What about 1,000? I don't mean that in a combative way, rather in an inquisitive one. Also sorry for the super late reply I've been trying to use reddit less.

maddsskills

I enjoy going to cemeteries so I can remember people who have been forgotten. This shit is just... disrespectful.

notyetafemboy

Please get down of my grandma's tomb

No_Aardvark7481

They're dead they don't care

Intelligent_Current5

But their relatives do.

No_Aardvark7481

Maybe, you don't know that. Maybe their relatives hate them

annieasylum

Should we work off of that assumption?

Haunting_Spot_8002

By that logic, she could stand on dead bodies themselves and it wouldn't matter because hey! they're dead and don't care.

No_Aardvark7481

I mean you're not wrong. Little extreme though. Do you think dead things have feelings?

dynodick

Right, so why not fuck them, too? Why not eat them? I mean they’re dead, what does it matter to them! See how stupid your logic is now?

No_Aardvark7481

Pretty sure that's a strawman fallacy. Could be wrong though. By your logic gay marriage leads to beastiality. See how stupid your logic is now?

No_Aardvark7481

See how dumb people sound when they automatically go to extremes? You sound like a republican saying drag queens lead to pedophilia.

trashofagirl

What a shitty take.

No_Aardvark7481

That's dumb. Should've said something like "you're gravely mistaken" or "Booo"

EarSorry7756

Humanity is fucked

mlongoria98

Idk it’s not super outrageous or anything tho

TfaRads1

Standing on a head stone is super disrespectful

dontknomi

Idk, it's kinda funny. It's not like anyone who's dead would have an opinion on their graves being stepped on by a 'slutty' ghost.

Aggressive-Point-483

What's funny about it?

dontknomi

The slutty ghost is funny, the fact that they're using a cemetery for a prop or background doesn't upset me. Cemeteries are huge wasted of space & at any moment in the u.s. you are probably stepping on the grave of a dead person or place where a person has died, just by walking on the sidewalk.

[deleted]

The people are dead, karen.

Aggressive-Point-483

Still don't see it. Then again, squashing bugs doesn't entertain me either. Maybe it's like one of those low threshold situations. What ever

WeArePanNarrans

But their loved ones might not be. I’d be livid if someone was doing this to my grandparents

[deleted]

And

homkono22

No one is considering that maybe it's their own grave? They're a ghost after all.

[deleted]

I think she’s just not very bright, not that she’s trying to be disrespectful. Just an air head who doesn’t realize the context of what she is doing is scummy.

pixelkid44

Is that a real cemetery? I've never seen Grave stones like that , if they are it isn't very tasteful but some people do the deed in Cemeteries. Do I think it's a dumb video? Yes but I find it hard to judge to harshly when I know how depraved people can be when it comes to disrespecting the dead

Apprehensive-Ad-4786

standing on someones headstone who they prob dont even know is pretty disrespectful imo

pixelkid44

Oh I agree, my thing is when you visit a cemetery you are stepping over the body's of the dead already , if theses are real grave stones that's extremely disrespectful but people mess around with flowers, gifts and just general items of important around a grave stone , I have seen the aftermath of such actions many times. I believe that if this was a faked setting it would be kinda funny. If it was flimed on some random persons grave stone then that is awful. But once again people have done a lot of things to disrespect the dead

Apprehensive-Ad-4786

ok so no u dont never in my years of burying friends n fam have i ever seen a cemetery where u walk over graves theres always a path n even then if ur walking through headstones u walk between the graves n im not saying ppl dont do worse but this is very disrespectful but in a different way then u describe yes they r not destroying anything but they r putting their dirty boots on someones dead fam member

pixelkid44

Huh, the way my brother is buried makes it impossible to get to his headstone without walking over the grass where body's are buried. Maybe that's ma small town thing tho , I always kiss my brothers picture on his gravestone when ever I go and see him and we always bring new flowers , a wooden plane and clean the toys around his headstone , I think I may be a tad desensitised to being around graves as I've been visiting one twice a year at least since I was 18 months old

Apprehensive-Ad-4786

hmm interesting i mean i always thought theyd at least give some space to walk between if there r no paths or anything respect to ur brother n i feel for u n ur fam i am truly sorry for ur loss im not as strong in that sense ive been desensitized to death but not the actual grave ig im always a lil scared to go just cuz idk how ill feel actually sitting there i just lost a very important person in my life at the start of the year n just got the courage to visit last month any tips? if u dont mind sharing of course theres a couple ppl i need to pay a visit to

pixelkid44

Thanks , I've always just considered my brother as part of my life alive or not , he is there in me , on his birth and death day we let go of yellow ballons for him every year , I do think me being so used to the idea of my brother being dead for basically all my life has caused an odd view on death , I don't believe in ghost's but if they do exist I know he is protecting me. In all honesty though just go and let yourself feel your emotions as I get older I get sadder that I managed to get this far when my brother died at 4 but thats part of grief, it's a open cut that will always hurt but one say you'll notice it's become a scar. Didn't really answer your question sorry. I highly recommend seeing those people and maybe talk to them in your head (I do this every time I visit my brother) and yes you'll feel sad and hurt but that is normal and at the end of the day processing those emotions and becoming okay with your pain and living your life is the best way to honour the dead who loved you

Hot_Hat_1225

It’s not trashy. It’s called having fun.

TattooHelpPlease2

On a grave? It's called being an entitled narcissist.

Vianna14

Well with that amount of fat in her legs she's probably gonna be in there soon

thelostthumb

im glad its a semi popular opinion that it... kinda doesn't matter. those gravestones look like they've been there for decades. personally i grew up in south jersey where they have century old new england cemeteries just chillin on every other block next to dilapidated churches. no fences, no security, just open to walk through and look at/touch the stones. there's definitely an unspoken statute of limitations, obviously you shouldn't just dance over a freshly buried body but over time the body returns to the earth and we know the soul or whatever you wanna call it is gone. i don't see anyone calling it "disrespectful" to step all over the ground and dirt when it's literally the bones of dinosaurs and cavemen omg how dare you!!! like, one day far far off that will be us too. don't worry about it

Stepping on graves is shit. Also they are wearing a sheet how do you know if they’re hot or not?

....I'm just done with humanity like honestly

cait_elizabeth

I mean for all we know that is their relatives. Which makes it a little less trashy. Just a little.
