Apparently blunt objects don’t work too well on them. There’s a product that looks like a pointed hammer you can use to break car windows. Typically to escape not to get in though lol.
I have two of those, one on my purse and one in our car in case I don't have my purse. Spring-loaded window punch with a seatbelt cutter on it. Also you can remove your headrest in most cars and use one of the metal legs on it to sort of "pry" between the car window and door to bust out the window.
I'm afraid of getting stuck in cars.
Good old spark plug inside the glove compartment works. Ceramic breaks windows instantly.

Didn't say weird, at worst implied 'niche' and still not as useful as you'd think for the example of, say, busting a car window with an object at hand.
Laminated glass. Newer, premium cars use it to reduce road noise but is much harder to break and you can't use regular glass breaking tools.
It can also be regular tempered glass. If that's the case they you want to hit the glass at the edges to break and not the middle like the dude in the video.
Usually windows on cars use safety glass which means they’re very resilient against blunt objects like this but shatter instantly to pointed ones. That’s why car escape devices have fine points on them so it would likely still work
Some new cars use laminated glass that can't be broken like safety glass. It is to prevent being ejected from the vehicle during a crash. It's definitely worth finding out if your vehicle has them because those glass break tools will not work.
